Rash Decisions by Alex Rosa is a modern fresh take on a young woman’s quest on self-discovery. With Rosa’s detailed writing, she engages readers to embark along on a journey with the heroine, Julia Ferris as she ventures off to a new city where a new job awaits for her. Like many millennials of today, Julia is not only tackling this new job venture but also will be exploring the many things life throws at her including the unexpected. And sometimes the unexpected involves matters of the heart.

#RashDecisions

Rash Decisions may not be your typical romance story but I found the story of Julia’s journey to be realistic and believable as it was a story of a flawed heroine as she discovers who she is. The old Julia would be making rash decisions but what happens when she must make a decision when it comes to two men. Yes, there are two men who have the capability of capturing your heart but there is only one choice and what will Julia decide. So will Julia be finding herself making a rash decision?

Alex Rosa is indeed a storyteller as she takes readers on quite the journey that is filled with a little angst and unexpected surprise. I enjoyed this book as the writing was on point when it came to making tough choices. So if you are looking for a story that deals explores the concept that life is sometimes about making rash decisions especially when it comes to your happiness then this book is definitely for you.

This book was an entertaining read. Julia was strong willed and wanted to do her own thing. Packed up and moved to start over. Troy was use to having things his way and not having to deal with someone else while working. These two together was amusing, fun, sexy and lots of chemistry. Then you add in Noah, sexy NYPD cop. Things start to get a bit messy and people start to get jealous and everything becomes more interesting.

I have mixed emotions on this one. I gave the book 4 stars because overall it was a good story with enough feels and nice surprises that I wanted to get to the HEA that I felt I deserved. Why do I say deserved? Because this was honestly one of the hardest books I have ever read. Not because it wasn’t good. It was. It was really good. But, the plot was tricky and I really had to work at liking these characters at times. Let me explain (without giving anything away, of course)…

First we have Julia. Julia is the heroine with a confidence problem. The book opens with her in her therapist office making rash decisions (pun intended) and literally running away with little to no explanation as to why. This explanation does come at a later point in the book, but it wasn’t explained well enough to satisfy me and, honestly, it just made her look weak. Next we have Julia’s two beaus—Troy and Noah. Troy is her co-worker. He is cocky and pretty much smirks after everything he says, but she has an undeniable attraction to him. Noah is her inadvertent hero who literally saves her from falling. He is sweet and loyal, like a Saint Bernard. Yep, I said that. Julia can’t get her stuff together long enough to stop making rash decisions and as the reader it is somewhat uncomfortable to read. I found myself wanting to scream at Julia to make a decision already. Then, Alex Rosa throws in the mother of all twists and I was like, “Nope. No way.” I dropped by beloved iPad and walked away for a minute, but then I turned back around because I just had to know what happened. Serioulsy, I had to. Plus - sweet, little seven year old with a stuffed purple rhino and a lisp! Hello! I'm a sucker for kids in books.

I just had a hard time figuring out who I was supposed to be rooting for in the whole trio dynamic. However, in the end, it was all worth it. The more I thought about it, the more I realized how smart the writing actuallly was. It kept me interested, invested and involved. Every last frustrating and confusing page turn was made better by the last two chapters of the book and one sweet, little seven year old. Except, I wanted one more thing I didn’t get and I’ll let you figure it out for yourself.

Despite all my grumblings, Rash Decisions was good. No, good isn’t enough. It was pretty great. Just keep pushing through, because the reward at the end is so sweet.

Arc received and reviewed for 2 Girls & Their Kindles Blog.

This was a fun little romance, highly enjoyable.

Julia Ferris is in funk so to speak, she's had enough and decides to throw caution to the wind and leave everything behind to start a new job in a different city.
She wants to do something for herself despite what everyone else thinks.

Troy Dillinger has a job he loves, he feels threatened when he hears of a new employee coming to work for the company. He decides he needs to know more and up his game.

He's not prepared at all when he realises just who his new partner is and he has a hard time concentrating on his job and keeping things strictly professional. Because Julia gets under his skin straight away.

There's great sexual chemistry between Troy and Julia neither one wants to admit they work better together.
So they constantly try to outdo each other, it's quite funny at times.

I love all the back and forth between these two.
Troy is gorgeous and I loved Julia she doesn't take any of Troys crap. She loves pushing his buttons and making him sweat.

This was my first book by this Author and I will definitely check out any future books. I'm hoping for a book 2 because I'd love to know more about other characters in this story.

Rash Decisions is about new beginnings. New beginnings are not always what they are cracked up to be.

Julia is a Designer who works for her father's company. She is successful. She has everything she could ask for but, she is not given the opportunities to make her own decisions. She feels smothered and makes a rash decision. She buys a ticket from California to New York, after buying a new pair of shoes! Working for her uncle will give her the independence that she craves.

Troy is an Architect and Designer working for Julia's uncle. He works hard and is competent at what he does. He now feels threatened by the new recruit as he feels that there might be an ulterior motive. He is well prepared, though.

Julia's and Troy's first encounter is quite comical. An unfortunate accident! He is disconcerted at their first official meeting but, she keeps her mouth shut. They have to work as a team and his suspicions puts him on the defensive. They decide to hate each other, discarding the pull between them. She has a chance meeting with Noah, and they click and start dating. After attending a party with some important customers, she gives in to the attraction to Troy and they end up having hot sex. She makes a run for it the next day. When she discovers that there is a link between Noah and Troy, things become complicated and she has to make a choice. She makes another rash decision to avoid being caught in a love triangle. It's the wrong decision and she has to make another choice. She takes her sweet time to put things right, and before she knows it, the sh**t hits the fan! Can she make amends without causing further damage?

I admire Troy for what he has been through in the past and how he copes with the outcome. His love is fierce. I find Julia to be irritating for most of the time. She doesn’t appear to be able to make a decision without dithering. When she decides to return to where she ran from, she causes a lot of grief and heartaches. It takes "Sniffles", a stuffed Rhino to bring her to her senses!

It's an interesting storyline with well developed characters. I found Julia's behaviour to be a tad too much, otherwise a good read.

I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Overall, a good read with interesting characters that provide for a good story line.

I really wanted to love this story, but there was something about it that kept me from doing so. At times I struggled to find myself wanting to read the story and felt more forced. Other times, I found myself getting lost in it.

There was a little too much for my liking about the shoes and their importance in Julia’s life and I found myself getting bored during those particular scenes. That’s really my only major complaint for this story and I could enjoy the story otherwise.

Details and descriptions were good. They provided just a little “more” to the story and made it so easy to disappear into the book. They made the scenes feel a little more realistic and made my emotions a little stronger.

I would definitely recommend reading the story. It was fun and flirty while also heartfelt and loveable, a well rounded story.

I like Troy and Julia together and think it has been fun seeing them fight with each other while they fought their attraction to one another. The way they toy with each other adds a real element of fun.

Lizzy is a sweet addition, but I feel like her age must have changed a few times because she is referred to as a "toddler" once or twice (a 7-year-old isn't a toddler), and her appendages are referred to as chubby in a toddler way several times, while otherwise she sounds like her actual age.

I hadn't realized that this was a love triangle book until that was evident in the story. Love triangles and cheating aren't really my thing, but this was a nice enough read I kept going (also being invested enough at that point).

A bit predictable here and there, but, some awkward phrasing aside, very well-written. The characters are interesting and vivid, the chemistry undeniable, and the story fun.

I really love Alex’s writing style and this is another one of her powerful creations. Julia and Troy are just so sweet and I loved reading about their story. Their banter and sexual tension was really funny and HOT to read.

I really, really liked Rash Decisions. It is a sweet and funny story about how two people fall in love in spite of their difficulties and the things life threw their way.

Bummer :-((( Good writing, likable heroine!
But I wasn't aware it was a love triangle :-( And since I absolutely liked the OM, I don't want to read how they leave him out. I skipped to epilogue and yes, the heroine chose the arrogant male protagonist, whom I couldn't stand.
It's a shame they didn't give a good guy his HEA...
