A beautifully illustrated retelling of the story of Cloelia (a young girl who was credited with saving the early Roman Republic during its revolutionary war against the Etruscans, as recounted in Livy's history) - always good to read some Roman history and mythology, and I read it with my little kids for homeschool during Women's History Month . . .

Inspiring story about a Roman girl who escapes from an Etruscan camp with other children. The girl's courage combined with a faithful presentation of war between the Romans and Etruscans in the pre-Republic years make this a winning title for scholars. Worth the trouble to find and/or purchase.

My boys thoroughly enjoyed us reading this book them. This is a story of a young girl, Cloelia, who escapes a Etruscan prison camp with 40 girls. This is a hard book to find, but worth it!

school book. great, historically founded story. I think the problem I had connecting with this book was cultural.

I wonder if I would do better reading this after reading Titus Livius's version.
