I'm D. Camille and I am an avid reader and author. I started reading romance books when I was thirteen and since then I've read hundreds. I wanted to write a series that contained the culture and history of the African and African American people.

I like to utilize historical information, science and ancient beliefs. I write for people to enjoy, think, analyze and learn; not only about the characters but hopefully also about themselves. I love to hear from my readers. Write me and tell me about your favorite characters and what you love about them. Me, I love all of them...they came from my heart.

Ase! (so let it be)

Love Grown Folks Style

The writing is exemplary....the maturity level is refreshing....the love and respect oozes through my Kindle.

Brandon and Mackenzie are perfect for each other. Although she is in a position of authority, Brandon makes her feel it's ok to fall back and lean on him to support her in her times of need...and she makes him feel safe enough to relay his fears about his past. This is what every woman wants....to be loved and give love freely.

This book...this series is black love at it's finest. I adore this author's work and will forever be a supporter.

A mature SEXY romantic suspense...Mackenzie and Brandon balanced and centered one another...once Brandon decided Mac was “the one”...there was no games no drama...and a long time coming as far as their family and friends were concerned...MAC and Brandon gave me a good chuckle throughout w/some of their sexual escapades and antics...enjoyed catching up w/the rest of the Negus and Nigist and their circle of family/friends. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Omg, I'm speechless right now!

This book was so good! D. Camille, you outdone yourself. I mean this book was sexy, romantic and Lawd knows Brandon and Mac were so in love. But you also touched on so many issues that our communities are facing right now. This book was thought-provoking, insightful and informative. Great job D. Camille! Loved this book!

Brandon Williams (Prosecuting Attorney, Negus Member) has thrown his hat in the ring for Mayor of Detroit. Mackienzie Green - Chief of Police in Detroit has a problem in her city and her department. Brandon's father - Judge Williams has an idea that he needs Brandon and Mac to work on together. They both figure out that Brandon's dad is playing matchmaker.
Brandon has a desire for Mac and likewise Mac for Brandon, Sparks fly everywhere between these two. However, someone from Brandon's past is determined to eliminate him and Mac from being seen as positive force in Detroit.
Murder, extortion, bribery and lying is laced throughout this book. However, it is well balanced with the heat and sexiness that erupts between Brandon and Mackenzie.
The Negus and Negist make appearances through out. Questions are raised and bets placed on the success of the relationship Brandon and Mac are building.
Will Brandon give up the mayoral race to protect the woman he loves? Will Mac be able to squash the corruption in her city? Will issues keep these two powerhouses from finding a lasting love?
Tauri and Rion have a huge issue that smacks them in their faces as well.

Great read and a fast paced page turner..

I loved it

D Camille Maat has created a world of characters that are not only socially morale, they are wonderfully love. Brandon and Mac are the consummate power couple. Their love and mutual respect for each other burns off the pages. This is a must read for the die hard romantic, and a lesson for heart.

I have digested every offering this author has presented on the table, and I have not been disappointed. She is an amazing storyteller and her plots are original with current relevant topics. Brandon and Mackenzie, I have been waiting for them.. and they were phenomenal. Green eyes was the Man... I loved how he stepped into his role as her protector, her lover and life partner with such ease. Mac.... a strong woman, but also knew when to just lay her strength to the side to be catered to and taken care of by her protector and up lifter. If you are a fan of this author, you will be well pleased and if you are not, I suggest you get on board... Great Great Read....

“When I know what I want to do, I do it…”

This book, this story was fantastic! I did not want to let this book go! Mackenzie and Brandon....The characters and the story made me feel like I was there on the front lines with them. I'm still fanning myself. Hot, steamy, relevant, and a must read! I'm going to have read this one again because it was too short and I needed more. I love revisiting with Negus and Nigist. I do not know who is next but I know with D Camille penning it, there will be no disappointment.

I think this is the best Black Land book so far. Yes, the Alpha male hero, Negus,Brandon Williams and the Beta female heroine, MacKenzie Green were large and in charge. The drama, mystery, romance and sexy love scenes were in full effect. But this book sent out a message that was loud and clear against the state of policing, sentencing and corruption. It was strong and I applaud the author on taking a staunch stand through her writing against those elements that destroy the Black community. Write On, SiStar, write on!

A+mazing

This story was everything. It was good catching up with the Negus. I mean it was non stop action from beginning to end. Yet it touched on reality and what's happening every day in the African American community. D' Camille's books are amazing. This is definitely must read and the ending was awesome sauce, I thought it was going to come earlier in the book but I was glad to see that it happened. Hopefully in the next book we get a glimpse into this couple's wedding.

Spectacular.

Brandon and Mac were forces to be reckoned with on their own, but when they came together they became unstoppable. I absolutely loved reading their story. We as readers of this series have been familiar with the prosecutor and the chief from past books and it was nice to be given an in depth insight to the two. So looking forward to the future books in this series.

Brandon and Mac have been feeling each other for years. But Brandon allowed his thoughts of Mac perhaps being in love with anther man stop him. I loved the fact that Brandon knew what he wanted and didn't play games to get it. I also enjoyed the fact that Mac just went with the flow. There were no crazy games just two people in love who made a commit to love another through their traumas.

The Scales

I read book one of the Black Land series and thought it was decent, but book 3 is superb. I enjoyed reading about Mackenzie and Brandon. It was beautiful the way Brandon let Mac know she was special to him. And I love how she was willing to surrender being the tough girl and allow him to handle certain situations. This book also had a good mystery that will keep you on your toes.
