I do not like this cover AT ALL. The dude on the cover is not even remotely close to how I pictured Wade. That said, that is a personal opinion. The cover itself is an excellent representation of the story. It has fairly good composition and interesting typography.
I enjoyed this one but I didn't love it as much as I did the first book of this series. First the positives...it was well written. Had some good twists and turns. In fact, one of the twists came as a complete surprise to me. So kudos to the author for that! It had some interesting secondary characters. I cannot wait until Ian's book. The main characters were fairly likable as individuals. The sex scenes were hot.
On to what didn't work for me. One, I struggled to feel a connection between Wade and Brina for the first half of the book. They were boring together (IMO) Things improved when the twist was revealed but they never came close to having the same chemistry as the couple from book one.
There was also some weird OW scene in this one where a woman Wade hooked up with occasion rubs herself on him and grabs his dick getting him hard. He makes plans to meet her later to have sex. This is AFTER he slept with the heroine. Now my issue was that we NEVER see this woman again.
Lastly, this one dragged for me at times. I felt my mind drifting to other things, and I just couldn't stay invested in the story. All in all this one turned out being a mixed bag for me. I enjoyed it enough that I will go on to read the others in the series but book one is the better of the two IMO.

Target was a very well written erotic-suspense, that is captivatingly steamy. Wade and Brina had a very intriguing relationship that kept me on the edge of my seat for the majority of their story. I liked that they could both keep me on my toes and had me guessing.
In all honesty I wasn't very shocked by the "big reveal" in this book. I actually guessed what it was when I read the blurb and hadn't even started the book yet. But even though I wasn't shocked by that at all there were still surprises that popped up for me and I really enjoyed those. The characters weren't very predictable which kept me intrigued with them and made me enjoy getting to know their secrets.
Together Wade and Brina were a good couple, with amazing chemistry. The story had a few parts that seemed to slow down and drag for me, but these characters kept the book alive. Even those moments that I was starting to lost interest, they were there pulling me back in so I could see how their relationship played out.
Overall, this series brings us unique stories of fighting crime, with strong characters and kickass fighting. I would definitely recommend this series for anyone that likes tough Heroes and heroines. Target can be read as a standalone with no problem, but I loved that first book so I will still recommend that one too.

Another great romantic suspense by this author. This is Wade's story. He is taken over the Chandler business as his dad,Glenn, moves into retirement. AS a good businessman, he is open to helping new business succeed. When Brina Carmichael comes to him, he finds he can't resist--her or her business proposition.
And then the plot thickens. Everyone has a secret. Wade. Glenn, Brina. The President. Brina's parents. Everyone, it seems is not who they purport to be. What a wonderful roller coaster ride the reader gets on for this story!
I really enjoyed Brina. She is so much more than meets the eye. I think this is ultimately what draws Wade to her so much. His soul somehow recognizes that Brina is a strong enough woman to meet him match for match.
Loved seeing all of the brothers this time around. Very much looking forward to seeing them in the future. Great premise for a series.

I am never disappointment reading a book by L.P.
Once again I am blown away. She takes mystery to a whole new level. This book the 2nd in the series really was great.
Trained assassins, that's what the circle what the circle of justice is. BUT here's the thing they all are a branch of the FBI. What I really love about them is how they find the justice in what the law doesn't. People that do horrific things, like murder, rape or the worst of them all pedophiles. They serve very little time behind bars. then BOOM they are set free on good behavior. But they aren't free for long, thanks to the circle.
When I first met the charterer of Brinia Carmichael I really truly liked her. She is awesome, Independent and loves a challenge. ** Spoiler free review** She has a few surprises up her sleeve. A secret that very few people know. Enter Wade Chandler. Tall, dark and handsome Wade Chandler. He's a member of the circle by night and head of Chandler enterprises by day.
As was his father the head of the circle. His father George took it upon himself to keep an eye on Brinia after her father brutal murder when she was a teenager.
What I loved the most was Brinia herself. She is a hell of a badass

Wade is a tough man, but when it comes to Brina he can be a softie, "pulling her to me, I kissed her hard. “I’ll see you soon. And I will miss you like crazy.” Brina cam give her man options, “yes,” I claimed breathlessly. “Unless you want to have golf cart sex, because I don’t think I’ll make it all the way back.” I really liked this book, I loved Wade.

Wade Chandler is the new CEO of Chandler Investments after his father has retired. But he also is a FBI agent working with the COJ, although lately his missions are no longer as pleasant for him as before. Also now being a public figure he have to be more careful.
Brina Carmichael is the daughter of the former POTUS before he was assassinated, and now her brother Noah is the one in charge. Tired of the life in Washington, she has moved to open her surf business where she handles clothing and surfboards designs , but her business is not going as well as she hoped. So she follows the advice of her mother and asks Wade for help. These 2 soon mix business with pleasure.
In addition to having to face the threats that the POTUS is receiving. Everything seems to indicate that is someone from his inner circle.
But here everyone has secret identities and nobody is what it seems with the naked eye.
With a loud chuckle, my father got to his feet. “You do have feelings for her. Never thought I’d see the day.” I glared at him. He always knew how to push my buttons. “In the end, it doesn’t matter if I do or not. She’s made it perfectly clear nothing’s going to happen between us long-term.”
“I’m just trying to figure you out. There has to be something you’re getting out of this other than money from my company. I don’t see why you’d go through all of this trouble for chump change.” Leaning over, he stared down at my lips, then into my eyes. “You obviously don’t have much faith in me. I will tell you this though.” I breathed him in and froze as I felt his breath against my skin. I ached for him to kiss me. “I do have an agenda, sunshine. And hopefully, one of these days, you’ll figure it out.”
“I’m done lying, and pretending what we’re doing isn’t driving me absolutely insane.” He turned around completely, eyes darkening as he bit his lip. “You asked me the other night why I kissed you. The selfish part of me wanted the world to know you’re mine, but in all reality, I kissed you because I wanted to. Because I wanted to feel the connection we had that first night.” “What do you want now?” he murmured, poised like a lion, ready to attack. “I need to hear it.” “I want you, Wade. I don’t know what it’ll mean for us, but . . .” I shrugged, not caring about the future. I could only think of the here and now. Hunger flared in his blue gaze. “That’s all I’ve been waiting to hear,”
He spoke against my skin. “I’ve always wanted you.” “Then show me.” I squeezed my legs around his hips, pulling him into me. Still connected, he rested on his elbows and gazed down at me, his body still hard inside mine. “You do know we’re not done, right?” “I can tell.” I laughed, leaning up to kiss him. “Are you sure this is what you want?” He brushed the hair off my face and kissed me. “I never stopped wanting you, Brina. It killed me not being able to touch you, to make you mine.” “Why didn’t you?” “Because I needed you to come to me, to make your own choice. I didn’t want to take advantage of the situation.” I caressed his cheek. “Like I did?” “Exactly.” His lips pulled back into a smile. “Although, I’m glad you did.” “What happens now?” He pushed inside me and I gasped. “I’m going to take what’s mine.”
“No,” I whispered, taking his face in my hands. “The only thing that scares me is the way I feel about you. I don’t want to let it go.” “You’re not going to.” He lowered his head, his lips only a breath away. “Because this is the first time I’ve told anyone outside of the circle what I do. And I’m sure as hell not letting you go.” “Wade—” “I’m in love with you, Brina. I’m so in love with you, it fucking scares me.” The air whooshed out of my lungs and I sucked in a shaky breath. “I’m in love with you too.” Pressing his lips to mine, he nipped my bottom lip. “Look at us . . . laid bare to one another, underneath the stars. Now that there’s no more secrets, what do you want to do?” There were so many things I wanted, but all I could think about was his weight pressing me into the ground as he thrust inside of me. “Kiss me,” I commanded.

This is a suspense/romance offering and I’m partial to this kind of genre of late. I’m also new to this author and the synopsis peaked my interest so I was keen to jump right in!
Brina Carmichael is the daughter of the President and one night her father is brutally murdered. As you would expect, there are many changes for the former first daughter and she vows nobody will hurt her family again. Her brother is now the President and her fears for his safety are in the forefront of her mind. Brina is a very strong willed lady and runs her own business. It isn’t doing so well and her determination to make it succeed is tenfold so for help she turns to Wade Chandler who she has known since a child. Their fathers were good friends and as he is a successful businessman she thinks he could help her in her hour of need.
Wade Chandler is one hot bachelor who is very much in the public eye especially his trysts with the ladies! Wade is the head of Chandler Enterprises, a position he took when his father retired although his father still takes an interest in the family business.
When Wade is called upon to help Brina he has one heck of a surprise! He hasn’t seen her for years so he is in for quite a surprise. He didn’t quite expect to see such a gorgeous young lady who he finds instantly attractive with long legs to die for. But don’t expect this to be plain sailing as Wade is keeping a big secret!
When the chemistry between the two heats up they embark on what they think is a one night stand because business their number one priority. Mmmmm, well that doesn’t work out too well as they both can’t seem to get enough of each other. They try to hide what is going on but the media are hell-bent on pushing for a news story to connect the two as an item as this would take the most eligible bachelor well and truly off the market. With Wade still keeping his secret this makes things very interesting!
There are plenty of twists and turns in this story which I never saw coming. The story slowly builds but just enough to make you want to keep reading to see where it all goes. As the reader I knew Wade’s secret but I wasn’t expecting another twist too! Wow, it was pretty explosive! This is a very well constructed story which has you hanging on the edge of your seat and keen to know what happens next. The supporting characters are a great compliment to the story, the bodyguards and Brina’s niece, Trinity. I also loved Wade’s brothers as well and I hope we get to see more of these characters in their own stories and also how Wade and Brina are doing with their own lives. Highly recommend this read if you are looking for a great suspense story mixed with romance which also has a great plot to make you say “Wow, I never saw that coming!”

Target is the second book in the Circle of Justice series but it can be read as a standalone. If you did read Trigger than you would have met Wade Chandler. I liked him in Trigger so I was happy that he was getting his own book. He lives a double life and that is always interesting...
Wade Chandler is a trained assassin and also the owner of one of the largest investment companies in the country. The only people that know about his double life are in the Circle of Justice. This makes it hard to let anyone in. It's too difficult to lie to someone day in and day out about who he truly is. A killer. A man with a list of targets. But when the President of the United States becomes a target to someone on the other side he has to mix business with pleasure. He knew Brina Carmichael when they were kids. She is a former first daughter and now her brother is the President. They are not kids anymore. He wants her. And when she needs his assistance with her business, he can not say no. She is not only gorgeous but she is business smart. It's a lethal combination for him. But when she discovers her family is in danger, can he protect what he really is from the woman that is breaking down the walls around his heart?
I don't want to spoil anything so I'll leave it at that for the story. But I will talk about the characters. I liked Brina Carmichael because she is more than a socialite former first daughter. She is a hard-working business owner. Sister. Aunt. Daughter. Friend. And can take care of herself. I knew I was going to like Wade after meeting him in Trigger. He is a serious business man but he is also funny and sexy. He also shows his tender side with Brina. It is an all around badass with heart. Together, they are sexy, complicated, and fun. But I only gave the book four stars because even though I saw a connection with these two I didn't feel it deep enough. I wanted more.
Overall...I really enjoyed the book. It was a great addition to the series. The characters are likable and lickable. It has suspense, sexy times, and laughs. I am looking forward to the next book.

She is a hard-working business owner. Sister. Aunt. Daughter. Friend. And can take care of herself. I knew I was going to like Wade after meeting him in Trigger. He is a serious business man but he is also funny and sexy. He also shows his tender side with Brina. It is an all around badass with heart. Together, they are sexy, complicated, and fun. But I only gave the book four stars because even though I saw a connection with these two I didn't feel it deep enough. I wanted more.
Overall...I really enjoyed the book. It was a great addition to the series. The characters are likable and lickable. It has suspense, sexy times, and laughs. I am looking forward to the next book.

Target is the second book in the Circle of Justice Series by L.P. Dover, and is a complete stand-alone. I was hooked on this book from beginning to end, and wasn’t quite sure what to expect with Wade and Brina, and was pleasantly surprised with how this story went!
The prologue of this book shows us Brina watching her father killed, flash forward 13 years later and she’s trying to stay out of the spotlight as the former first daughter, but that’s hard as the sister of the current president, and always having a target on her back. With her business in trouble, her mother suggests getting a hold of Wade Chandler and a chance meeting at the White House 4th of July party sparks things up between these two. Wade is at the party to help take out a target that’s there to get the president, and is enamored by Brina, and things on his mission don’t necessarily go as planned, and an amazing sexy and suspenseful story starts!
Watching these two dance around each other and all the secrets they have kept me attached to my Kindle throughout the night to finish this book. Just when you think you’ve figured everything out, L.P. Dover will through you for a loop. I didn’t see some of the plot twists coming in this book, and I was happy about that. Sure there were some things in this book that were expected and you could see coming, but others I definitely didn’t see coming and that made this book even better. When an author can surprise you and still keep you loving the characters and the story, that’s when you know you have an amazing book. I adored these characters and even the secondary characters in Josh and Trinity. They helped shape this book and I loved them as well!
The connection between Wade and Brina was undeniable and even when you think they shouldn’t be together, everything inside of them is saying they should. You’ll need to read this book to see how well they belong together and all the chemistry that they share! The suspense, the who-done-it’s and all the twists and turns will keep you hooked! The only thing I wasn’t thrilled about is I felt that the last few chapters were a bit too rushed after all the build up in this book. Other than that this was a beautifully written story and I can’t wait for more books in the Circle of Justice Series!

Brina Carmichael, at one time, was the first daughter of America's President, but after seeing her father shot in front of her, she has no desire for anything to do with Washington D.C. So even though her brother is now the current POTUS, she does her best to stay away. However, she got summoned for his 4th of July party, and that's where she came face to face with Wade Chandler again. She needs his companies help, but quickly realizes that she has an instant powerful attraction to him as well. Wade is running his family company by day, and an assassin by night, so he's not trying to have anything resembling a relationship, but after their night, he can't get her out of his head. Brina is hiding her own secrets, so where will they be when secrets are revealed?! I couldn't get enough of this book at all! It hit the ground running, and never slowed down again for a moment. Brina is my new girl crush, is as bad a** as she is beautiful. And Wade, I mean, YUMMY! Their chemistry is off the charts flammable, which finally EXPLODES into fiery flames that will melt panties everywhere. I love this author's writing, as LP Dover has a brilliant writing style that, once again, captivated me from cover to cover, leaving me ready to beg for more! Her twists and turns came out of left, which had me dropping loud f-bombs like crazy. Although I have loved all of the books that I've read by her, this has become my absolute favorite, and I CANNOT WAIT for more of this series! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Brina and Wade were childhood friends who have not seen each other in years. They know who each other is still because of his celebrity status and her being the First Daughter and now First Sister of the President. Her father was killed on Christmas eve while celebrating at their cabin almost in front of her. His assassination set about making her into the person she is now. Wade is part of the inner circle and is an assassin. Neither one knows the truth about the other until a shocking event takes place and the truth all comes out. Brina and her niece are put in danger and Wade has to pull out all of the stops in order to save them. The story flowed but I had some issues with the way that killing people was glossed over. Brina was not nearly as bada** as she thought she was. Her running away twice in this book was just so juvenile for a 29-year-old woman who supposedly was trained the way she was. That took away from the story for me. Her keeping such a big secret towards the end just rubbed me the wrong way. Acting like a child is not endearing. Her inability to even try and compromise because she felt she needed to be in Charleston was ridiculous. She wasn't at her business for most of the book so that just rang as so untrue and just an excuse for her not to have to compromise. Wade stepped up big time and she should have never put him in that position. Hate when the h can't find her big girl pants.

Target was an awesome erotic-suspense that is so sexy and steamy. Wade and Brina had this relationship that was complex , mysterious and full of intrigue. The entire time I was reading this book, I was always on that ledge regarding their relationship and waiting to see where they would take me. They kept me guessing and I loved that about these characters-this author knew what she was doing when writing this book. Their chemistry was amazing -- Wade & Brina knew each other as children, and reconnect as adults. She needs some help with her business and goes to Wade for assistance. When both have an attraction to one another, they plan to have a one night stand but its more complicated because they both cant leave each other alone. They both have secrets that they are hiding from one another. What will happen to them, when they find out about each other secrets will they fight for each other or will they let the secrets separate them ?
I loved the mystery, the suspense aspect in this book and I loved the characters in this book along with the passion, chemistry and love between Wade and Brina in this book. L.P.Dover did it again and wrote a killer book, one I didn’t want to put down.

Wade and Brina were interesting. The backstories of the characters, the way they intertwined and then separated were compelling. I love the idea that they were in the periphery of one another's lives for years.
The chemistry was believable and I thought they reacted as real people would, or at least the way I think real people would in the situation.
And, then I am stuck with the writing of the review as, while I saw it coming, the end of the story, and discussing the characters, is a spoiler as to what is going on and who they each are.
So, I am going to keep this one short, out of necessity more than anything, as not only is there a big something you don;t know, but there are a lot of clues built into the reveal...and telling much of anything about the plot could very much lead to a giant accidental spoiler.
The pacing was a little uneven, I thought the end of the story moved much more quickly than the beginning. As I mentioned, the characters realistic and I believed in them and their reactions.
I am not positive I totally believed in the resolution, as it seemed a little quick to me (hence the pacing issue) but it was not enough of an issue to keep me from being able to give this book a positive rating and recommendation.

LP Dover never disappoints when she writes romantic suspense and it's what got me as a fan of her writing. Her ability to weave suspense into romance making it beautiful is outstanding. Dover's books are always so twisted... packed with tons of mystery, secrets, and steam... all the right things that grips me from the start.
Nothing is ever as it seems....
Secrets that run deep never stay that way...
They never saw each other coming...
Or what would happen next...
Target is the second standalone novel in the Circle of Justice Series. Book one was fantastic but book two.... freaking phenomenal. Brina and Wade.... swoon to the max y'all! I f-loved these two right from the start... and was so addicted to them and their journey. Sexy. Intense. Suspenseful. Action packed. This isn't one I'll soon be forgetting.
Dover never disappoints and always has me wanting just a touch more. Excited to see what she gives me next!

Target is an exciting, suspenseful romance. Brina and Wade knew each other as children. Their families were close, and when Brina moved into the White House with her parents, they lost touch. When Brina seeks him out for help with her business, sparks fly.
I LOVED this book! The characters were intriguing, the story is captivating, and the suspense was perfectly paced. There's twists and turns that make it impossible to turn down. Brina was a JOY to read. She's smart and a hard worker. Wade does it all. He's sexy, and has incredible energy.

I really love when h isn't far behind from H. What I mean is that Brina has lots in common with Wade. Which I guess made easier for him to confess his secrets. After all they have similar of those. He's dangerous. But she's too.
I loved Wade. Despite that he has a darker side, he still has such a beautiful soul. Brina such a lucky girl. He will bring the stars to her feet just to make her happy.
This series really are great. Full of passion, action, danger and entertainment. Looking forward for next one.

Target is a great follow-up to Trigger!
Wade Chandler is a sexy, wealthy, businessman/assassin. He's the perfect alpha man! Uncontrollable, antsy, just perfect. Brina is his match in every way. However, I'm not fond of alpha females and she is definitely an alpha female. The storyline is fabulous, the scenes flow very well, and the characters, main and secondary, click.
Other than the alpha female angle, Target is fabulous!

I read and arc of target and it was amazing. Trained assassin but the good guy taking care of the worlds scum. When send on a mission he reconnects with the women from his past. While trying to get his mind in the game and to finish his target, was taken out by someone else. Brina and Wade get lost in a night of passion that leads them to falling in love. The twist is can they both keep secrets or will the truth come out? THe suspense is enjoy to kill you but you will enjoy every minute of this book. Once again Lp has written a 5 star read!

This one was full of suspense, steamy sexy times, action and fun. I really enjoy this series and the twists and turns that each of these books take. This one was no exception.I loved Wade and Brina and their romance along with the suspense draws you in from the beginning and doesn't let go until the very end. I highly recommend this series.

Target is the second story in the Circle of Justice series books and can definitely be read as a standalone if you haven't read Trigger.
Target is well written and had a lot of twists and turns. It has one GIANT twist that I really didn't see coming at all. Wade and Brina were a great couple and I loved their chemistry. It was great hearing about all the brothers and I'm really looking forward to some of their stories!
Overall a great read and I would recommend picking it up if you love a kick ass leading lady.

While I loved her fae, and liked her fighters, I think I've found my niche in The Circle of Justice books. I'm sure it has nothing to do with me being a vindictive person who wants a gun daring to dream I could join. Stayed up until the wee hours reading this one and as with the first, I can't wait for the next!

Wow! Let me say it is NOT what I expected! The 2nd standalone assassin book by L.P. Dover and she does not leave you disappointed! There are twists and turns at every corner and you are left surprised until the very end. Lots of action and still some steamy romance mixed in. Another great read by L.P.!

So I have read this series out of order, although I don’t think we are surprised. I read Aim first and then I read Trigger and now I am finally on Target! Should be interesting! I am really hooked on these books and I have very high expectations for them.
I really liked Brina she was very sassy and very strong minded and I loved that about her, also that she was so stubborn as they all kept saying. I really liked her plot twist I did not see that coming but I don’t want to say much more because of spoilers! Either way I loved her even more after that.
Wade he made me chuckle a lot through this novel especially how he got annoyed at his father for being protective of Brina I also love how he was willing to help her with her business and I really loved that aspect of this novel and that we saw him in that environment as well as his job. So Wade also doubles as an FBI agent and damn that man is hot when he flips I love how the author describes the fire in his eyes and everything.
The beginning of this book was so dramatic it went from 0 to 100 real fast and it stayed relevant all the way through especially as when her dad was president to her brother being president it was an interesting family dynamic.
I loved the plot, I really want to talk about the twist but I can’t talk about the twist because you all need to be as blown away as I was because I did not expect this twist and it blew me away, I reread like 4 times to make sure what I was reading was right but honestly it blew my mind. I didn’t see it coming. It just made Wade and Brina’s connection all that stronger and I loved it.

I am a long time L.P. Dover fan. Again she has outdone herself; I finished this book in under a day. If you are a longtime fan or new to L.P. Dover you need to add this book to your must read list. Trust me you will not be disappointed.

I’ve read this book multiple times as well Armed & Dangerous Series as a whole but I’ve never actually gotten around to posting a review so here goes. I really enjoyed this book. Wade is part of the Circle of Justice (COJ) which is a secret part of the FBI who are all basically paid assassins and go after the worst of the worst criminals that have spent little to no time being locked up for their heinous crimes. Wade has recently taken over Chandler Enterprises from his father Glenn and the only of Glenn’s four sons that are publicly linked to Glenn since the other three are happy being out it and living in Wyoming as it helps with their jobs within the COJ. Brina is the daughter of the former president and her brother is the current president. Her and Wade used to play together as kids since their dad’s were friends before her dad was m*rdered but they haven’t seen each other in years. Brina has her own swimwear line/surf shop and needs some business advice but hates asking for help. Glenn offered to help her years ago but she didn’t want to take it but her mum mentioned that Wade has now recently taken control of Chandler Enterprises so she should ask him for help, since he’s different than his father. They hit it off pretty much from the first moment they reconnected. For some reason it took me a wee while to warm up to Brina as she was extremely head strong but Wade seemed to get through to her and she seemed to help him relax and have some fun, than him being all just about work. Target by LP Dover is an amazing read! It kept me up until the wee hours of the morning just so I could finish it. I wanted to know the ending so badly. Awesome job LP Dover!!

Wade Chandler takes over Chandler Enterprises when his father, Glenn, wants to retire. He runs Chandler Enterprises by day and works for the Circle of Justice at night.
The circle of justice is a secret branch of the FBI that kills the scum of criminals. I'm talking the worst of the worst. The pedophiles, rapists, traffickers, kidnappers and such. When the justice system fails and they are released for good behavior or something of the like, the Circle of Justice steps in and secretly takes them out.
Wade is reunited with Brina when she needs his business advice with her store, Endless Summer. The chemistry between the two is hot and steamy, but like every other frustrating couple, they fight their emotions for each other. They knew each other when they were children as their fathers were super close. Brina's father was the President of the US but he was murdered while on a family vacation at Christmas. Even though Brina was a child at the time, the white house and the politics were never her scenes. She wanted to stay as far away from that life as possible when she got older. Yet, that is hard to do when her brother becomes President. Everyone has secrets that they keep close to their chest. Oh! There is a massive plot twist thrown in there too!!
Target is told alternatively through both Wade and Brina's point of view.
