First the positive: someone has illustrated a good chunk of the Bible and put it into colorful graphics along with text in the style of graphic novels. I commend the writer and illustrator for that. This is not your typical Bible story book, and not for kids.
Then the negative: this book is the author's interpretation of the Bible, and they seem to have an agenda. The selections of what to include seem to be heavy on God's judgment, especially on sexual sins. For example, on page 13, one text box states, “With each new generation, as the people increased sin increased. The people committed sexual sins and were violent. Every thought was sinful. No one lived righteously. Adam had committed one sin; the people now committed many sins.” There seems to be an opinion that if someone commits more sins, they are worse. But all of humanity has sinned through the Fall, and everything we do is tainted. It is only through the grace of God that anyone can be saved. When we try to prioritize sins, it leads to many problems.
Strangely, the entire story of Joseph from Genesis is missing, but much detail is spent on the judgment of the Flood and Sodom. I would like to have read more about God's covenantal work with Israel, showing his love and faithfulness to them even though they constantly sinned against him.
I give one point for the concept, but the author's way of looking at God's providence is different from my catechism classes.
