A collection of poems, author's memories and her experiences.
The poem I loved the most is Being you.

Some poems are adorable while some are simply good. To the point. Not too much metaphorized.
There are 53 pieces of poetry, some short and some long and i loved them.

'Wanderer turns where the destiny says, his home is -where he stays'

This book is a summary of the author's thought process and a reflection of her soul. The name of the book suits the content aptly and Ireally enjoyed this short read.

This book has a collection of 36 poems with varied lengths that explains her thought process and perception towards life, including the people close to her and around her. The flow of the poems are exactly how they mentioned, 'Beads tied with string and hook'. I really loved the fact that the poems were simple, yet thought-provoking without having to have in-depth knowledge about the poetic structure. Also the use of different poetic structures used in this book were easily recognizable, so that's A+ from my side!My only let down was that few lines felt kind of forced and out-of-place, like filling gaps. Other than that, it was a really enjoyable and breezy read!

Few of my favorites from the book - Hold On! (Inspiring), Craving(Humorous touch to a serious subject) & Wandering Soul(Thought Provoking). If you are looking for a simple & an easy poetry read with not many complicated verse, then I definitely recommend this for you! This is an amazing 'Just starting with Poetry' book.

Shruti Shetty is someone who have engrained poetry and writing in her genes and probably that is the reason how "Abstract- piece of my mind" came out.
So not to be judged in any other genre, it's purely Shruti's mind reflection into poetry form.
It's a compilation of 53 short and some long length poems.
As the poems are believed to be like rivers flowing as the heart flows,
Shruti starts with "Supreme Him" her first poem, that she dedicates and writes about Ganpati.
And then she dedicates her husband and her parents in other poems.
Others are also good and adorable poems which one everyone relate at different levels
"The Creative Heart" is one such poem from this book which touched my heart.

Weirdo someone calls him,

X is him, who is unknown,
till he becomes the centre of your soul.

"Emerging as a butterfly from the cocoon
is itself a boon as beautiful."

Soft, crisp and vibrant, "Abstract" is the summery of the thought process, that the mind goes through every instant, woven sweetly into strings of poetry by the poetess, Shruti Shetty, who decides to keep it simple in order to express her raw emotions as intensely as it had occured.

The book begins with a poem on God, proclaiming His supremacy and how his love is same for one and all. The poem beautiful depicts how He is always there for us, ready to accept anything that we offer to Him with love. Beside this, there are other poems singing the gallant of God, along with the picture of Ganesha in the first page reveals the poetess' intense love and respect for the Supreme Power.

Next comes the tribute to her parents, which Shruti Shetty had totally excelled in. The way she has compared waves with her parents is amazing and true indeed. Each word she wrote for her parents are true for everyone out there and thus the readers can definitely relate themselves with her. She also put a picture of her parents and addressed them as her motivation, which is a very sweet thing to do.

The book also has poems on love and how strong and deep it can be. They describe the devine feeling of being in love and the happiness that one feels just at the sight of their lover; how love imparts the greatest strength to one and how sometimes love is the only thing that we need to heal. This is also accompanied by the picture of her beloved whom she adores a lot.

Nature too didn't escape the eyes of the poetess as she sings the saga of the beauty that Mother Nature holds within her: she is not only beautiful to the eyes but also the soul-healer who charms the mind.

All the poems are written in a simple fashion and yet they express a deeper sense of emotion. Certain poems take the readers on an inspirational ride and some are simply thought-provoking. The poem "Wishes" is particularly great as it gives us a message that wishes aren't that easy to be fulfilled. The poem "Vision" has a great depth in it as it explains what life is all about with a tinge of spirituality in them. "Compare and you shall know" is another amazing poem that compares two situations and brings out a vibrant difference. The poem "Craving" most efficiently points out what actual craving looks like. "Hold On" is an immensely motivating poem that should be read by one and all.

The mesmerising book ends with the poem "Accomplishment" where the poetess expresses her extreme joy for finally being able to fulfil her earnest desire to complete her dream masterpiece of an amazing poetry book.

The perfect title is suggests the abstractness of our random though process that occurs to us anywhere anytime and hints that the poetess has actually tried to pen down her random thoughts into a string of poetry.

The attractive cover stars a quill dipped in ink, ready to jump into the blank pages and start its vivid dance as soon as an abstract thought hits the mind of its writer.

Simple yet vibrant, short yet intense, "Abstract" by Shruti Shetty is an excellent piece of work that is sure to touch the readers' hearts and stay in there forever.

"Some memories bring smile,
where some smiles are only for a while."

Review
The cover does the maximum justice to the title with the warm tones beautifully portrayed.
The blurb is a short one and will make you look forward to her “piece of mind”.
Coming to the book, I thoroughly enjoyed reading the poems. It us a quick read but I would like you guys to go slow and let the feelings absorb.
The writing language is lucid which is a plus point as it allows everyone to read poems.
As her debut book she tries putting her heart in the book and it shows.
You will feel connected to the thought process once you go slow and savor every line.
Though in some cases it looks only rhyming lines, but that can be ignored given the other poems which sets your mind at ease.
I would love if the author tries out more genres in the future because clearly her lines has that spark that we poets needs.
.
My favourite line from the book:
“Hold on till the last breath is gone,
You can if you really want” from the poem Hold On!
Do I recommend it?
Yes.

Abstract is a collection of poetry that is a result of the author's abstract thought process. It clearly reflects her thoughts over various relations, feelings and emotions.
The title is very appropriate for the book. The book is beautifully abstract.
The language is so nice. The words are simple but till, the poems are very meaningful and full of colors. The combination of effortless and meaningful writing is mesmerizing.
It is a short read and does not take time but I would suggest you to take your time and read one poem at a time. Like taking a single sip of your favorite coffee at a time. I felt that the book is written with a lot of emotions, it is very cute and there is an essence of purity and innocence. This is what abstract thought looks like.
However, I do encourage the author to do better because I believe she can do wonders if she dives deeper into her thoughts.
I do recommend this book to everybody.

This collection consists of poems from wide variety of topics. The language used is very simple. It is a good book if you are wishing to begin with poetry. The author uses a lot of rhyming words at the end of the lines which I did not quite liked. It made me feel like the author was struggling to make the ends sound the same. I believe that poetry should not be restricted with rhyming words. If you are a person who enjoys rhyming poetry then this book is for you.
