Most Lone Wolves have a story—a pack they left behind, a love they lost, or worse, one they buried. Some leave their packs to roam because they crave freedom, and independence. Some leave because in their hearts, they can’t bear to stay. Some leave because they see no way to go back…

Most wolves will roam at some point in their lives, fledgling adults leave to explore the world while more senior wolves may undertake a journey they always wanted. Many come home again, Mitch Jackson didn’t. He thrilled to living life on the road, first as a roadie for a rock band, traveling from city to city then later as an animal trainer at a circus. He’s had a lot of jobs, and all of them fun. Two years as an Enforcer hasn’t curbed his smile, but a rogue invasion of Russian wolves are enough to put a damper on anyone’s party especially when they set their sights on the packs’ more vulnerable members…

Amelia Sullivan couldn’t stay in Willow Bend, not after her sister embraced the life she’d always wanted. It aggravated her that Shiloh’s defiance earned her a free pass from their parents, parents who’d raised them all to reject the idea of going wolf. Having always put their family first, Amelia needs a breather from wolves, their politics, and their play. Taking the first excuse she can to go to a cooking school on the west coast, she flees. The last thing she expected was an order to return home within three months of her getting away. She wasn’t a wolf, she doesn’t have to obey…of course, not following the rules proves even more costly than she can imagine when she finds herself a prisoner and the change she always thought she wanted forced upon her...

Rescuing Amelia seemed a straightforward job until Mitch realizes what they’ve done, then saving her life proves to be the easier task as she undergoes her first transformation far from any Alpha. Can a happy go lucky Enforcer find the strength to keep her sane?

I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.

I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.

After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.

Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.

Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.

One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.

I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!

This is a great addition to this addictive paranormal shifter series! After escaping her family and the shifters of Willow Bend, Amelia Sullivan is attending cooking school, thinking she's left shifters well behind her. Unfortunately, she is out jogging when she is kidnapped by weird people, who appear to not speak English (or even American!!) imprisoned and subjected to physically abusive treatment that some others have obviously not survived. She remains a feisty and determined young lady, though weakening after her poor treatment. That's when Mitch Jackson turns up to rescue her. The two had never met before. She's unsure whether she can trust him or if he's working with her kidnappers. However, she's also ill, feeling as if she has flu - and he's definitely a better option than staying where she'd been imprisoned - but the Russians don't want to let her go!

This is another action packed adventure in this continuing saga. At last readers are starting to understand the motivations of the Russians and I certainly think it helps to have read the earlier novels before this one though I suspect it could still be enjoyed as a standalone. The characters are well developed and the relationship between the two main characters isn't instant lust, instead it grows as they become more familiar and supportive of each other. Amelia's life is in danger because of how she was treated. She remains stubborn and determined whilst Mitch proves to be strong and supportive despite her attitude.

I found this to be a great page-turner, taking me back into this paranormal world. I can't wait to read more in this series to discover just what the Russians are doing and to see more about how relationships started in this and other stories in the series are developing.

I received an ARC of this novel without obligation. This is my honest review.

Continuity problem as here the heroine has been kidnapped on the street and in a previous novella it was said she'd been kidnapped in her home - with many details. Another bizarre thing is the arrival of the Russian woman at the end, doesn't make any sense how and why she comes and is easily defeated by the heroine.

The heroine's survival changes the world for wolves. The h is so relatable, hard on herself and unhappy with her human life, and uncertain about her wolf. H can't help but fall in love with her as he sees her courage. He's a gorgeous man, kind and caring and so very capable. This couple change so much for all wolves.

Suspense and intrigue....we're getting closer to finding out what the hell is going on with the Russians!! So the last time I saw Amelia I wasn't a big fan but it turns out she's one bad-ass chick with a smart-ass mouth LOL. A must read in this fantastic shifter world!

Loved it, loved it, loved it - read straight through and when I finished, I had an anxiety attack needing next book in series - soon please! Went onto my 2017 Favourites List.

Trigger warning that the start of the book very fearful with kidnapping and contains violence against women, but nice to see Amelia's development and empowerment. Lots of time spent on details of her initial shifting and on Mitch teaching her about packs, politics, shifting, etc. He is adorable - handsome, thoughtful, philosophical, patient, etc. Hope there is a another book focused on this couple in their next six months with her training and to see how their relationship and her gifts develop. (Oh yes and the steamy sex...)

There were several editing errors that might tick off some readers, with words missing, etc.

Final Rating: 5 stars - going to re-read again this week because I enjoyed it so much.

Words fail me. I cannot express how much I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! Okay the cover isn’t the best one of the series but the pages after left me breathless. Shadow Wolf is the start of a new arc and the author refers to events and places that take place in prior books that you really should read, that being said you could probably enjoy it without having read them just not as much.
Neither Amelia nor Mitch are perfect but they are perfect for each other. Amelia is a strong young woman who comes off as a bit whiney at first. Mitch comes off as a bit condescending and work focused but as he helps her through her first change and Amelia discovers just how strong she is they discover each other as well. Their journey is one I will reread over and over again.

Heather Long pens another great book in this series. Amelia has left Willow Bend and gone to California for cooking school and gets kidnapped by the Russian wolves causing trouble. Mason has Enforcer Mitch go after her but that's when the story takes off. Amelia was human raised in a wolf pack that she didnt fit but will she find her place as a newly turned wolf.
In this story we learn much more about the turning of wolves and the background of the packs. Also what makes a lone wolf and the Enforcers. With all of that background we see a whole new world surrounding Willow Bend and Amelia finds her mate in Mitch. These two strong individuals form another link in the Willow Bend world. Don't miss any of these exciting books in this series.

This was a great read! I purchased books 1-3 together as an Amazon deal. I read them over the weekend. I liked the story development and the characters so much that over the last two weeks, I have read books 4 through 10. The characters were well developed, and although each book was a standalone, there was thread of continuity and overlapping characters throughout. The story came to life and the last book, although not a cliffie, makes you really want to read the next one (which is not out until March, 2017). Well worth your time and money to read the series.

So sad but also fierce and hopeful

This story was so sad, but also full of hope and fight. Amelia was one of my least favorite characters in the series, so it was interesting to see her side of the story. Her struggles and traumas turned her into a character full of fierce fire and life. She is so STRONG. And independent Mitch was a perfect match for her. The addition information and advancement in the overarching storyline really makes me glad I binging this series right now! If I had to WAIT for the next book, I might go mad. Lol

These two were full of all sorts of surprises! They start off in peril, then they are on the run, then, one of my favourites, trapped together in a cabin in the woods. Still lots of worries to contend with, but I love how they focused on each other, what they want, what they need, and how to obtain their end goal. Which, it turns out, wasn’t complete, but they are ready to buck the system and get things done! Needless to say, once I start this book, I couldn’t put it down until I finished it <3

Hunted

She literally ran away from home, just couldn't take it anymore. Then she was kidnapped, tortured and bitten before being rescued by her Angel wolf. Mitch and Amelia goes through a lot more wile getting her back to her pack and when it comes to light that Amelia is still threatened, Mitch will do anything to protect her.

Good read, just not much going on and I’m not sure why it took Mitch so long to come around. The encounter with the woman seemed forced, she didn’t have to answer any of her questions so for her to waste the time needed to get out seemed off. Even Amelia’s reason for being so angry came off as lame but overall it was a page turner.

Little Sister

This is a great read, beginning an arc within the series featuring the Enforcers, "Guardians of the Wolves". It begins with the kidnapping of one of the Willow Bend pack humans, Amelia Sullivan, whose sister Shiloh was lead in a previous book. Amelia, angry with her little sister's defiance of the rules and being rewarded for it, moved to Los Angeles to attend culinary school. She's snatched off the street only a few weeks after her arrival, tortured, starved and near death when she's found by Enforcer Mitch Jackson.
Mitch is a lone wolf groomed and recruited by Julian for the Enforcers, where he works with military precision and dedication. With help from a tracker he locates where Amelia is being held and enters the abandoned warehouse to find the bodies of humans from the various packs, and a barely alive Amelia. Injured in the battle with her guards, he takes her to his cabin in the Sierras to recover as an ice storm hits, isolating them without electricity or phone service. It doesn't take long for Mitch to realize Amelia has been given "the bite" and that away from her alpha and without a mate her chances of surviving the change are slim. There is a good chance she will go mad and he will have to put her down. But Mitch is determined to get 'little sister" through to the other side, alive and well, and back home safely to her pack. Hopefully, that's what she wants, too.

I love a strong heroine, and we get that here in spades. She may permit a bit of bossiness from the H while he’s teaching her life important stuff, but she’s 100% his equal and demands the respect that deserves. Love it.

Amelia Sullivan had grown up in Willow Bend, a human in the world of shifters. She had always grown up believing human's stayed human ... then her sister mated and changed into a shifter. Confused and angry she left, only to be kidnapped and tortured by the very beings she was running from.

Mitch Jackson is an Enforcer who had been sent to find Amelia, but what he finds amazes him. She is in terrible shape but tough enough to walk out of the prison while he is fighting her captors. His biggest problem is getting her to her alpha because her captors had given her the bite and she is about to become a shifter. Trapped in a safe house by an ice storm, Mitch has no choice but to help her learn and adapt. Something she has always longed to be but ... she was suppose to stay human, her family said so.

SHADOW WOLF takes us back to Willow Bend and the wolf packs of America. With this one we find Amelia Sullivan in trouble, having left the shifter world behind only to be thrown back in by the Russian packs that are causing chaos throughout the country. Mitch is a happy go lucky guy underneath the fierce Enforcer persona, he does his job but manages to enjoy life. Amelia makes him smile and also makes him furious, scares him and makes him want her more than any woman he had ever met. I loved the chemistry between the two and even enjoyed the bickering that happened between them. I wondered how author Heather Long was going to work out this romance, especially with the “war” going on with the Russians, all the Enforcers are needed. And Enforcers are considered loners ... lone wolf's are not allowed attachments... so will Mitch give up the fight and find love? You will have to read SHADOW WOLF to find out what happens to this couple.

Highly Recommend!

Shadow Wolf kept me engaged from the opening paragraph to the final paragraph. Ameilia Sullivan has been one of those side characters that I really didn't like since she was first introduced in Wolf With Benefits early in the series. Imagine my surprise when after reading this novel she now ranks up there as one of my favorite female characters of this series. She has just the right amount of snarky, mixed in with a sense of humor, intelligence and strength. When she decides she wants Mitch Jackson, she goes for it and I for one enjoyed this couples journey. Overall, this is a great story.

Amelia thought all her problems would be solved by running from her family and the larger pack atmosphere of Willow Bend. After all they won't miss a human from the pack. She is enraged and downright jealous that once again her headstrong sister has fell in the manure and came out smelling of roses! She was the one who harboured love of all things Wolf and now her sister is on!! But she didn't get much of a break from pack politics - now she is the captive of seriously psychotic wolves. Maltreated and abused, she finally manages to escape with some help.

Mitch, said help, is an enforcer for the packs. A bit of a rolling stone, by nature and job description, he has hidey holes all over the country. When he and Amelia flee to his cabin, he never thought a snowstorm would delay their departure so long. But when tending her injuries he found several bite marks. Now the delay might be necessary - he has to make sure she survives the bites and doesn't lost her sanity in the process!

Amelia is just so uptight and wonderfully self sacrificing. She totally boxed herself into her little world and then raved at the fact that her sister would not pigeon hole herself. You can feel for her thought, even though some of her world is very green tinged with envy. Mitch is just yummy goodness, and he completely makes Amelia his only priority. The Russians again are making lethal problems and it seems trying to make themselves some wolves with certain...strengths!

Whilst there is no installust/love, Amelia had just been through some serious trauma after all. There was certainly passion, understanding and real respect for the other, even when Amelia, through fear, completely leaps to some major assumptions. As her wolf reveals herself and her new role, Amelia reveals her self to be a totally self aware and in control female.

Totally drew me in!

Shadow Wolf
Wolves of Willow Bend Book 10
by Heather Long
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a fantastic, charming and humorous story. I can never get enough of this series, it's one of my favorite series. I would recommend this to everyone who loves a steamy romance with a little humor. The story has a lots of suspense with twists and turns that you won't see coming, this is definitely a great addition for a AWESOME series, I'm always looking forward to reading more about Willow Bend pack. This is a refreshing, addictive and entertaining story. What a awesome, action packed, adventure this is a continuing saga of Willow Bend packs. Now we readers get to understand the motivations of the Russians, if you haven't and I read the earlier novels before I think you can start with this one and read them all. You can read and enjoy them as a standalone. I like how Heather's characters are well developed and the relationship between the two main characters isn't instant lust, she lets the attraction grow as they become more acquainted with each other. Amelia's life is in danger because what outside forces believe of how she is treated in the pack. Mitch Jackson is a Lone wolf and a enforcer. He likes his job until he met Amelia. Amelia is a human until she is kidnapped and turned. What a great read. If you are like me and enjoy a great paranormal read then this is a book I encourage you to read, I enjoyed this book from the first paragraph to the end.
I highly recommend this series! I voluntarily reviewed this book, because I love sharing my thoughts with my fellow readers.

I requested and received an ARC of this book in order to participate in a Release Blitz.

The Russian Rogues have gone too far. They have targeted the weakest pack members, the humans. Mitch has been assigned to rescuing Amanda and what he finds appalls him. At least he finds her alive, feverish and not coherent, but alive.

Mitch has his work cut out for him as they make their way to safety, first to get rid of their pursuers, then to acquire new vehicles to reach their destination without being detected.

With Amelia so ill, himself injured and without a cellphone, Mitch decides the best place for them to be is his own cabin. As he tends her wounds, he realizes she has been bitten multiple times. He's promised to keep her safe but if she doesn't handle the change he may have to kill her if she survives it at all.

In spite of an ice storm, they really can't stay sequestered at the cabin any longer than necessary. Julian needs to know what happened as does Mason. Plus they need to figure out what the Russian wolves next move might be.

While they are sheltered and alone at the cabin, there is fun, revelations and some really hot sex. All while Mitch is trying do for her what would normally be handled by her Alpha.

Action, excitement, nail-biting, and a surprising conclusion. Do not miss this book!

Be careful what you wish for
Amelia left Willow Bend after her sister who always did what she wanted and then mated to a Wolf and was turned yet still excepted by her family. Her family that always stressed that no Sullivan should become a wolf shifter. But deep down, Amelia always wondered what it would be like. She was always the one to follow the rules of her family. She finally decided to leave them all behind and go to cooking school. But never really having the intention to going back.
Then life takes a turn when she gets kidnapped by a bunch of Russian shifter. Beaten and bitten, staved and just wanting and waiting to die. Never expecting anyone to come looking for her because she isn’t part of the shifter pack in her mind.
When Mitch Jackson turns up to rescue her she’s surprised and grateful. However, she feels sick with flu like symptoms. Mitch’s suspicions that she might be turning come true and life for Amelia will never be the same. Only problem is, Mitch can’t get her back to an Alpha to help with her changing. Then there’s the attraction between the two, but he doesn’t want to take advantage of her precarious state.
Action packed with lots of adventure in this well written, self-contained story that’s also part of a series.

There is a phrase I really associate with this book: be careful with what you wish for. Amelia left willow bend to escape the politics and rules of the pack and her family. She wanted the life that her family was against too. and seen her sister have it on. a silver platter after breaking rules well, otherwise stir a lot of resentment. so Amelia escaped to find that you always be pack even if the distance. Mitch left a pack just to roam, to be free to explore and be free. This.two characters are thrown into an almost impossible situation that they have to deal with. As always, Ms. long gave us wonderful , we'll developed characters, but is Amelia who really catch my eye. For those who had read this series, when we first met Amelia, she sound as a resentful, jealous woman, but this book make us see why. A wonderful surprised for me were the acting scene. They were raw and violent in a good way,.if I can say that. This book is a lovely addition to the Willow Bend world. I received this arc for an honest review.

I just love coming back to this series, like a favorite soap opera but with more umph to it and foundation. I also love the Enforcers with each one I spend to more closely I eat it up. In this one I jumped right in with Amelia in some dire circumstances so this author has me by the tush not going anywhere anytime soon. Then comes Mitch whom the big heart he has even for a Enforcer takes her with him and now I am in big trouble for sure. The human she was is now facing a different path with only Mitch there so I am hunkered down to see how this goes. The romance seeps in but it is that wolf filled brand that heats up the night or day but knows what it wants. so even when they go to meet Mason I am sighing already with wanting a different direction. And Mitch's boss Julian one day I want to see him get bit by the right one lol. Also more is revealed on the ongoing battle with the bad guys with it becoming more intriguing also. By the time you find out the outcome of Amelia for the time being you will not want it to end yet but oh well until time to visit again.

Heather Long does it again with another 5 star read in her Wolves of Willow Bend series. Shadow Wolf is the beginning of a new story arc in this series and boy...I could not put this one down!

From well-developed characters to an awesome plot that reveals enough to get you through Mitch and Amelia's story but leaves enough in question to have you anticipating the next book, Heather Long has a way of just drawing you into the world she has created. And now adding some additional dimensions into the world of the Enforcers has only made me more excited to see where this series leads...and has me hoping that it is many, many, many more books before it ends!

This is one of my favorite series and I can't recommend this book and series enough. Although you could read this as a stand-alone, I would recommend starting at the beginning so you can meet all the wonderful characters in the world that Heather Long has created.

Romance, adventure, and a little danger all thrown together... I love it.
Amelia has to get away from Willow Bend. To be on her own is a dream she couldn't wait to start. Only she hasn't even been out long by herself and now she is kidnapped, drugged and bitten by a female Russian wolf. Will anyone come and save her? Do they even care or know she is gone? More than anything will she survive the bites and live to get revenge?
Mitch is a lone wolf enforcer. Originally from the Yukon pack. He never felt he belonged. But found himself while helping all the packs as a enforcer. Now on the trail of Amelia from the Willow Bend pack. He hopes to find her alive and return her to her family in one piece. And possibly get more information on these Russian wolves that are causing trouble. Will he find her in time?

Shadow Wolf book #10 in Heather Long Wolves of Willow Bend introduces two wolves from the same world but different packs. Amelia Sullivan was from Willow Bend she grew up with them, she wanted to be one of them. However, following the rules of her human family, Amelia decided to stay human. She stood by and watch her sister become what she wanted to be. Now Amelia found herself kidnapped and away from all she held dear and was forced to become the one thing she always wanted to be.

Shadow Wolf was very a fast pace, entertaining book. With well-developed characters, that drew you from the start. This book fits right in with the others in this series. What I like about this series so far, is that all the books were stand-alone.
