Don't know how I finished this series. Seemed like it was being written a chapter at a time and plot made up as it went along. Need to do something, oh lets have a magic potion for that, Need to win a big fight, oh lets have an angel sword. And Lucifers character has no commonality with other demons or aspects of Hell, you wonder if he dropped in from some alternate reality.

This is a very intriguing story with lots of twists and surprises. I had not read any of the others but was able to enjoy the story.

Max is part demon with a human mother and hybrids like her are not well respected. She is in Hell when the story begins and it is quite a dark journey. Everyone seems to want her and think she has information for them but she has no idea what is happening. Slowly she learns the truth and gets an opportunity to rectify some of her mistakes. I really liked how well the author developed the character and she is very complicated. She has made bad choices but wants to protect those she loves.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

This was an incredible book full of interesting characters and a very in depth plot, the writing was very vivid I could picture the scenes as they unfolded and considering the locations that this book is set in I was very impressed by how the imagery of every area changed so dramatically.
The characters were written with a lot of background and although I haven't read every book in this series I was still able to grasp the full concept and didn't feel lost at any point.
If you enjoy a good supernatural read with interesting characters and a wonderful plot I believe you will enjoy this book.

I received a free copy of this book and chose to voluntarily review it.

I am so happy with this book. There are twists and turns, action and adventure, mystery and suspense and it's all wrapped up with a ribbon of the paranormal. I was really glad to learn that I was correct in my guess who Max's father was. It certainly explained several things. I love how much she grew as a person in this book: taking responsibility for her actions, learning to ask for and accept help, and opening her heart to all of these people who love her. This was a fantastic end to her epic battle with Alexis, and there's plenty of room for more stories in the future.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.

Satanic Fortitude, my fifth read from author Joanne Mazurkiewicz in the Doomed Cases series was, as is everything from this author, well written and enjoyable. The direction of the series continues more towards the supernatural in this book, a trend that has continued with each book written. The continued development of the characters opens the door to further books, which I will read as time permits.
