➦If you're a fan of romantic comedies with a bit of over the top humor then you will probably enjoy this quick fun and sexy read!

➦Carly's got most of her life figured out. Except, maybe her job... or love life. She works at the bank at a teller and it was supposed to be one of those temporary jobs... but somehow became a permanent one. But bills, and all that jazz...

➦And as far as her love life goes, Carly consistently tries online dating and keeps consistently failing at that too. But ya know, it ain't her fault.

Cuz. Expectation from online dating profile:

Reality:

You know what, I wish I couldn't make this statement... but...

➦Well, at least one thing is permanent and consistent in Carly's life - her dog. Oh and there's also, of course, a hate for her best friend's brother. They are constantly bickering about everything and seem to not be very compatible...

➦Until one day, after one too many alcoholic beverages... they put that theory to a test... and what do you know? Compatible after all! But, of course, next morning neither of them wants to admit to themselves they actually enjoyed their time together. They both are stubborn!

➦Anywhoooo, Carly is my kind of gal and I enjoyed her story. One funny quote from the book for you right here: (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, VAL!)

Within two minutes, we have the wine bottle between us and fresh glasses poured after testing it's right.
I don't get that smell-and-sip-thing.
Just chug it from the bottle.
You'll soon know if it's good or bad by whether or not you throw it up.

I just luv Carly.

I was dying for this book after reading Being Brooke. Carly's character is just brilliant she had me laughing so much through that book and this. I was looking forward to finding out more about the fiery relationship she as with Zeke. Its a great love and hate relationship they both have and there is more hate at times. They are at each other al the time they never stop but this tension is pure sexual it's smoking hot. Even from the last book I 2as dying for them to get together. They are so funny the nickname Zeke had for Carly was so funny I think I laughed the whole time. Zeke drove Carly crazy but after there crazy wild nite in bed Carly was finding it hard and now she sees him everywhere she can't get away from this sexy men.

This book is just brilliant i luvd the story it was full of humor sexual tension and great characters. Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. As I ve said I was dying to get more of Carly and Zeke and after reading this book it as left me dying for more of Billie and Mellie there stories are just going to be brilliant i just know it. I would highly recommend this book and the first book. I really enjoyed them.

Eeep!!! Emma Hart has done it again. She never really disappoints. When you need a book that will elevate your mood, grab Emma Hart's works and sure enough you're in for a great treat. Your mood might not just be one elevated, because frankly? Your panties might be at stake. And oh please prepare your heart because Emma will leave you with so much of a good feels. Yes, Catching Carly is that and more!

Ahhhh!!! When I read the Prologue, I can never let myself stop reading the book. God! Please, Zeke and Carly's conversations from that alone got my approval already, it speaks so highly about the book. You know for yourself that you're in for another treat. And this treat was sooooo damn good.

Starting off with Carly, she's my girl. Who named their tits Ben and Jerry? Yeah she did! She's so fun, witty, sassy..holy guacamole she's it for me. Her honesty and no-filter character made me love her even more. She's so relatable. She could be you, your sister or a friend. But then as I said, so damn relatable. I had so much fun with her sass although at some point I wanna kill her. Oh no kidding, because hello?? She got Zeke!!! My Zeke!!! And who wouldn't want to kill her? Because Zeke? GAHD! I've been thinking this man and fantasizing him the whole time I read the book and I cannot forget him ever! He's alpha sexiness is just drool and swoon worthy my reader was wet the whole time. I just love a man who knows what he wants and goes for it.And he's just perfect for Carly. That being told, Emma Hart really perfectly coupled a character you will adore and love. I was laughing out loud the whole time. I feel like my mouth was stretched up into my ear. While it was full of fun and hilarity, you can never deny the fact that at some point the book is more than that. It's more than just the flirtatious banters, the sexual tension. Because this book? It's full of HEART!

Overall, this book is really good. So refreshing and really did gave me positive vibes. Catching Carly is one of my anticipated reads by this author. Having read Being Brooke, I cannot help myself for wanting this next installment. You ask me why? Definitely because Emma Hart always gets to me. She knows how to deliver a story that will imprint to her readers, it maybe a romcom but know for sure that it is always blended with a heart, with feels, with deep emotions and not just laugh out loud scenes nor banters that will get you crazy or even thick sexual tension that'll leave you looking for an a bucketful of ice or the coldest shower ever. Always and I mean always, Emma Hart aimed to not just make you feel good but she aimed to leave you with heart warming feels caused by a story funny and sexy yet full of depth and substance.

Catching Carly is super cute, sexy, entertaining, and laugh out loud funny! It combines two of my favorite tropes - Frienemies to lovers and best friend's brother (with a twist) secret romance.
Comedy takes lead in this fun little novel. While I enjoyed the humor immensely, some of it was a bit OTT for me. However, there were several priceless one-liners.

"Seriously. A studio full of porn stars couldn't suck this hard. They'd look like amateur cocksuckers in comparison to this day." That definitely describes my day today LOL

I also got a huge kick out of the Life Goals. "Life Goal #11: Start thinking shit through. Like spanx and jumpsuits. And best friends."

 photo CATCHING CARLY-teaser3.jpg

Here's the breakdown: Zeke and Carly "accidentally" sleep together. He's her best friend's brother and her enemy for the past 11 years. She can't understand how the situation went that far. Or at least that's what Carly tells herself. Zeke is handsome, muscular, and an all around perfect male specimen. Their history is complicated. To add to that, Zeke is still reeling from his ex-girlfriend's infidelity. Because of that he finds it impossible to trust woman. Carly on the other hand is searching for the fairytale ending. Do opposites really attract? Can those two see beyond their own personal issues to find love right in front of them?

 photo CATCHING CARLY-teaser4.jpg

What I enjoyed: I enjoyed the main characters. Carly is honest, funny, entertaining, tenacious, and super cute. Zeke is sexy, overbearing, confusing (it's a good thing), and most of all confused. He can't understand his pull to Carly. He doesn't trust, but he also can't let her go. Watching these two circle each other was really entertaining. However, I most enjoyed the novel after that get beyond their issues and went all in.

Overall, this is a quick entertaining read that's sure to please fans of romantic comedy.

Catching Carly was a great addition to this romantic comedy series by Emma Hart. Carly is back with her own book and it delivers a lot of laughs.

Carly and Zeke have had a love-hate relationship for a long time. This story is filled with humor, heat, and love. Carly and Zeke are great together when they aren’t pushing each other away. I enjoyed seeing these two become more and learn to love each other.

Emma Hart knows how to write a good book and Catching Carly is no exception. I enjoyed reading this book! Carly and Zeke have their issues, but you just want to push them together and tell them to set those issues aside and be together! It took quite a while for them to happen and it irritated me a bit, but I still liked the story. I look forward to more books by Emma Hart. -Leah, 4 Stars

Zeke and Carly’s story is a romantic playful comedy. Carly is Brooke’s and Cains friend. Zeke is Cain's brother. The couple has always had a pretend hate relationship. Zeke likes to get under Carly’s skin. In a moment of weakness, the pair finds themselves in bed together. Now Carly sees Zeke differently but they still have the playful relationship.

I liked this story but at times it was a little too much. Their personalities are full and playful. This is a comedy and the characters are perfect for each other. 4 stars out of 5.

I've been wanting to read Carly's story since reading the first book on the series, Being Brooke , but I have to admit I didn't quite enjoy it the same way I did Brooke's book.
Sure, Carly is amazing, super funny and a great friend but it's just missing something... I think I have a problem reading books in a series because I always love the first books but don't like the rest of them. I loved the first book and my fav scenes in this book were the ones where Brooke and Cain were on, so... that says a lot. But, I still laughed with the characters and the story.

In this book, we get to see Carly, Brooke's best friend, realize she's in love with her best friend's brother. Something she didn't want to be and hated that she felt it.
Carly always wanted it all, the fairytale, the happily ever after and she finds herself in love with the guy that was hurt in the past and has a bunch of walls around his heart.
But, their constant banter and growing feelings will make both of them look at their situation differently.

This was a fun and cute read. I really enjoy Emma's work, she writes really well. I kind of wish there was a book about Gabe. He was always so mysterious.

Life Goal #1: Forget about my best friend’s brother. Because Zeke Elliott is a colossal cockwomble.

OMG HA! Emma Hart is one of my go-to authors when I need a good romantic comedy book. This was exactly what I needed because this was absolutely hilarious. Zeke and Carly have 'hated' each other for as long as they can remember. Until they don't.

Their relationship was one to watch. It's something that everyone wants because they're so open to each other. They're friends first and that's something, I think every relationship needs.

"You’re the primary giver of shit in my life.”

You'll notice that Brooke makes a huge appearance in the book and that was something that was really needed. I thought all of them made the story so much more enjoyable and hilarious.

I've loved Emma Hart for as long as I can remember and I hope she continues to write romantic comedy with the same passion as she puts in these.

Another romantic comedy MASTERPIECE from the hilarious and witty Emma Hart! So sexy! So fun! And BURSTING with all the FEELS! Hart's RomComs have become like a drug to me. I'm completely and utterly ADDICTED!

You guys, I could quote the hell out of this book for sure, but I don't want to spoil any gems for you. It's ALL AMAZING, ALL THE TIME! Carly and Zeke won me over instantly, with their flirtatious and colorful banter and their INSANE sexual chemistry. I couldn't have asked for a better match!
Emma Hart is amazing in whatever genre she writes in but I think she conquers the romantic comedy genre. She brings these characters to life in such a way, that they stick with me long after the final page is turned. I'm utterly ADDICTED to Ms. Hart's writing style and I can't say enough good things about her stories.

I was completely ENTERTAINED, ENTHRALLED, and ECSTATIC throughout this whole read. This may have been a romantic comedy, but it was so full of emotion and heart, that it was just SO MUCH MORE than that. Emma Hart creates heroines that us women can look up to, root for, and strive to have their strength. They're sarcastic, lovable, and vibrant. They have such big personalities that take up the entirety of the pages. And the men who bring these women to their knees, well, let's just say you won't kick them outta bed anytime soon.

Carly and Zeke were meant to be from the very start. Their journey towards discovering that for themselves was hilarious, swoon-worthy and sexy as hell! So get ready to SWOON like crazy when you dive into this book! Enjoy the ride and the laughs! You will love EVERY SINGLE SECOND of it!

Catching Carly was an utterly addictive smart romantic comedy that was brimming with lots of humor, sass, banter, sexual tension, entertainment and passion!!!! Emma Hart has found her niche in romantic comedy as she continues to bring forth stories that are a riot of entertainment but a whole heaping and sprinkling of heart.

#CatchingCarly

With her colorful language and writing, Emma Hart brings Carly to life. Readers like myself can’t help but to fall in love with Carly’s addictive personality. The girl says things that you would be embarrassed to say in public but you know you wished could say it aloud. Toss in her vibrant personality and her best friend’s brother who is sex on a stick. You know trouble awaits for Carly and Zeke as their sexual tension are ready to explode. Well, it didn’t take long for these two to realize that they were the perfect catch for each other. So will Carly discover that maybe falling for your best friend’s brother ain’t so bad especially if he has a giant cock?

While this book may be targeted as romantic comedy, Emma Hart does not fail to incorporate a story that has heart and romance as well. Catching Carly was a well-written fun book. Prepare to laugh, swoon, laugh, swoon, and laugh again!!! Yeah, I think you get the message. Emma Hart writes fun, sassy romantic comedy!! So are you ready to catch Carly and her man Zeke?

Here's the thing..

I LOVE Romantic comedies.

I LOVE friends to lovers.

I LOOOOOOVE enemies to lovers even more.

I LOVE angsty hate, filled with humour and lust.

I LOVE to FEEL, to SWOON and to FALL IN LOVE.

And when I find a book that has all of the above and then even more too, I really LOVE it as well.

So, it's safe to say that I freaking LOVE Catching Carly by Emma Hart.

Catching Carly is so much fun. It's romantic comedy at it's finest. I don't think I've laughed so hard while reading a book in ages. Carly is freaking hilarious. So witty and refreshingly honest. The honesty is what cemented my love for her! She's undeniably sexy and sassy and just oozes “woman power”. I'm so glad Emma gave her a story and matched her to Zeke.

ZEKE ELLIOT. *falls to knees and praises Emma Hart for her creation*. Holy crap! There ain't any doubt in my mind that Emma writes THE BEST hero's. THE. BEST. And amazingly, she makes all her men different to the ones before. I mean yes, that are all hot alphas who are dirty and ridiculously sexy. And they ALWAYS know what they want and LORD do they get it. But each and every one has a different aspect to them. Zeke’s was his insecurity. It made him so much more swoony. Trust me. The man is deadly. And he ruined me ten times over!

With each Emma Hart book I read I find them harder and harder to review. Because they just hold such a high standard. I honestly struggle to find any negatives. Because there are none.. Emma nails story line, every time.

Emma smashes character connection, every time.

Emma kills it with feels, passion and love, EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Emma seduces her readers and captivates them entirely though every damn book. I'm in awe at everything the woman does. Her mind is a tremendous tool and it shows itself in every single book.

I'm captivated, consumed and well and truly caught up in Carly and Zeke!

4 Hilarious CROWNS

Catching Carly is another hilarious stand-alone addition to Being Brooke. It has everything I love about a romantic comedies: swoon worthy heroes, hilarious non-filtered heroines, and a dash of steam.

Carly really makes the hilarity in this book. Her inner dialogue, her random comments, and her basic lack of caring what others think all lead to so many laugh out loud moments, and readers will fall in love with her charm. My favorite moment with Carly though is when she finally is brave enough to admit her feelings, making readers feel so proud of her for laying her feelings on the line.

Zeke has that confident swagger with the sexy smirk and body to back it up, but what is most enjoyable about his character is that he has been broken before, which adds a layer of vulnerability. This unusual aspect in a hero makes readers root for him to get his HEA. They want him to take a chance on the fun and outlandish Carly.

This story is entertaining from the very beginning. Emma Hart drops the reader right into the steamy scenes, and the chemistry from there on out is palpable between the Zeke and Carly. Not only is their physical chemistry fantastic, their bantering is great, too. The bickering doesn’t stop with just Zeke though, as Carly’s sharp witted tongue creates many funny moments with Brooke and Cain. On top of all of this, Emma Hart has also introduced a ridiculously funny set of side characters with Brooke’s grandma, ultimately providing readers with the perfect blend of humor and romance.

Catching Carly is fantastic. It is quick, light, fun, and romantic, and Carly and Zeke will charm their way into readers’ hearts with their banter and easy chemistry.

If you're looking for a book to brighten your mood, look no further!
Catching Carly is another rom-com masterpiece by Emma Hart, that's equal part hilarious and sexy. Just be aware, it might get you addicted to her writing, but I guess that's okay since she delivers every single time.

So sexy, witty and so much fun!

I really liked Being Brooke, but since love-hate relationships are more my thing than friends to lovers stories, this was right up my alley. Carly and Zeke will win you over with their hilarious banter in no time.

Another series by Ms. Hart I'm fangirling over so hard!

Slick's review:

Emma Hart’s Catching Carly was a gem to read; it was funny, sappy, crass (in a good way), and sexy as sin. I enjoyed the first book in this series, but this one had a bit of extra sparkle to it. Enemies to lovers stories are always fun, but this couple’s animosity towards one another proved there is a fine line between love and hate.

A whole lot of alcohol, a bit of a dry spell, and some intense attraction has Carly falling into bed with the brother of one of her best friends, the best friend who is now living with her other best friend. What a tangled web Carly and Zeke weave especially when they agree it is a one-time thing and they will never speak of it again. Life has a way of throwing a wrench into plans and as Carly and Zeke get thrown together more and more their body parts seem to enjoy spending time in each other’s company.

I loved the banter between these two and the way that even when they tried to stay away from one another, they just couldn’t seem to manage. They both had a bit of baggage and some concerns and I would have liked to see them learn to communicate better, but overall this book was pretty lighthearted and a whole lot funny. Zeke really surprised me with his thoughtfulness, his candor, and his charm and while Carly was every bit as crazy as she proved in the last book we found she has a softer, sensitive side she doesn’t show to many people.

Emma Hart continues to prove herself as a front runner in the romantic comedy genre and Catching Carly is a fantastic addition to her growing body of work.

4 "tit-sugaring" Stars

Can you love and hate someone at the exact same time? Yes? No? Well, Looks like Carly has proved a very difficult query and the answer is definitively, YES.

In her middle twenties, Carly is a full time, "thought this was a part time gig" bank teller at her local branch and she is anything but easy going. She has a fowl mouth, a hilarious sense of humour and one serious case of "I'm going to get the last word", syndrome. Between her, and her best friend Brooke, I couldn't decide who was more crude or who was funnier? I'll go with a tie. All Carly wants, is a love that's pure and real and a fairy tail ending is not out of the question for her. But so far, Zeke is not proving to be that guy.

Carly's mortal enemy, Zeke is WAY into her. After having one of the hottest one night stands ever, he appears to want to come back for seconds. He is doing everything in his power to lure her away from that crap dating site and subsequent crap dates, and have her go out with him. He is stubborn. She is stubborn, if not more than him and it's leading them both down a road of intense insecurities. Having been burned before himself, Zeke is taking the slow lane in the emotional area of this budding relationship, while still wanting to maintain a speed worthy physical one. Emotions=broken heart and that's not someone Zeke wants in his life right now. Or is it?

The more Carly tries to stay away from Zeke, the more she is drawn to him. His smile, his laugh, the way he works her over in bed with his tongue ;) she cannot seem get enough of him, whilst wanting to simultaneously kick him in the head.

Frenemies to lovers? Hard sell. But Hart pulls at your hart-strings (see how I did that?) and makes it work. This book had me howling with laughter. The particular nursing home scene about made me spit my drink out and I just loved the chemistry between our too main leads. Brooke and Cain, perfectly fitting sub character were witty as well and fit Into the story seamlessly. Had a great time reading this fast paced Gem!

I have to tell you; I am a sucker for a good cover. Catching Carly’s cover is aesthetically pleasing. The theme was the same as the previous & the pop of colour had me 1-clicking so fast, that & the fact that I was obsessed with the first story.

Carly & Zeke were totally swoon worthy. And the steam was turned all the way up compared to Brooke & Cain, I was really into it – phew. Even my brow was slick with sweat when it got hot in there for a while.

This woman can write a story & now I’m definitely invested in her work. I recommend this mini-series to everyone that walks past me.

I’m keen for a Billie book, I think she is there waiting for her side of the story to be told.

Catching Carly (Barley Cross Book 2) by Emma Hart
Romantic Comedy. Can Easily Stand Alone.
Being Brooke was one of my favorite books of 2016, so I couldn’t wait for Catching Carly by Emma Hart . Brooke was so over the top, that Carly seemed like the sane one in the friendship, so I expected more of a serious book with Catching Carly. I was wrong. Carly is as snarky and quirky as her best friend.
Life Goal #1: Forget about my best friend’s brother. Because Zeke Elliott is a colossal cockwomble.

Zeke is Cain’s (from Being Brooke) brother. He and Carly have always had a volatile relationship. They love to hate each other. But Zeke is one sexy hunk of man.
“Trust me, Carly. You won’t be forgetting this when I’m through with you.”

There was a major pull between them, despite the hatred.
Now, are you going to shut the hell up?”
“No. As a rule, I don’t shut up. Ever.”
Zeke steps forward, shutting the distance between us in less than three seconds. He lifts his hand to my chin and cups it, dipping his handsome face down close to mine. “That’s fine. I think I’ll prefer it when you’re screaming for more and calling me God.”

It was a one time accident.
"I accidentally had sex with him.”
“Accidentally? What did you do, trip over a rug and just happen to sit your vagina on his cock?”

This all happens in the prologue, but Carly really holds on to the fight throughout a lot of the book, though Zeke is trying really hard.
“I do hate Zeke…Most of the time.” Like when he’s not kissing me.
“So, you like him when he kisses you? Obviously, you more than liked him at least once…”
“You’re being an asshole.”
She snorts. “I’m always an asshole. I’m just saying that maybe your non-date was a real date.”

I really wish there was a little more romance and togetherness in Catching Carly. While I loved the banter and resistance, I needed a little more romance on both parts.

This quote pretty much explains the book:
“And here I thought someone would make a movie out of our love story.”
“I’ll write it for you one day. It’ll be pretty much two hundred pages of ‘asshole’ until we reach the…."

Don’t get me wrong, I still loved the Catching Carly, but I almost felt like it tried to hard to keep up with Brooke. Still, the hysterical banter, her nickname, and the ridiculous amount of quotes I highlighted and the smile on my face while I read it made it worth the read.
Likes:

•Grandma and the brownies.
•Amazing amount of funny quotes.
•I laughed out loud a number of times.
•Awesome banter.
•The nickname.
•Visiting with Cain and Brooke.

Dislikes:

•Too much fighting it—I wanted to see more love.
•It felt like it tried a bit too hard to live up to Brooke, but maybe I just wanted it to too much.

The Down and Dirty:
Emma Hart has quite the knack for writing fun, quirky, crazy women that I totally relate to and want to hang out with. I want to be BFFs with Carly and Brooke. There were so many funny lines in Catching Carly, I probably highlighted half the book. I do, however, wish there was more of the couple together and in love, maybe a few sappy scenes. She just spent too much time pushing him away, and Zeke was a pretty decent guy. All in all though, I still loved the book, and I can’t wait for my next Emma Hart romcom.

Rating: 4 Stars, 4 Heat

Took me awhile to remember the characters in this series but once I did the excessive drama was already in full force. Carly Porter was mean...actually, she was a bitch. I'm all for the enemies-to-lovers trope, but without Zeke's POV, I was reliant on Carly's and she came across as being a terrible SOB. She sleeps with her brother's best friend one night but then doesn't want to hear a word of it again. Zeke on the other hand just loves to rile her up. Lots of back and forth between these two, with some parts being witty banter and the other being down right mean.

And there was far too many inner monologues, and a whole lot of miscommunication to make me want to fling my Kindle across the room. All in all, this turned out to be meh and the ending was far too quick. Oh well. Better luck next time.

I was snorting with laughter while reading Emma Hart’s Catching Carly, and I think you will too. It’s a fun and flirty frenemies-to-lovers romance that is sure to amuse and entertain you from beginning to end. Catching Carly is the second book in the Barley Cross series, but all the books are stand-alones and do not need to be read in order.

Carly is a hilarious, self-depreciating twenty-five-year-old with a dry wit and sarcastic view on life, and she’s especially cynical about dating and relationships. Online dating is introducing her to catfishing duds, and her two best friends recently found love with each other making her the third wheel. She has a contentious relationship with one of those best friend’s older brother, Zeke Elliott, that gets complicated after they have a hot one night stand.

She and Zeke have always rubbed each other the wrong way, and they like to push each other’s buttons with acerbic barbs, otherwise known as flirting. Carly thinks he is a playboy, but she is still - reluctantly – very attracted to him. After their one night of amazing sex, she’s having a hard time remembering why she doesn’t like him. Of course, he continues to (purposely) bait her, and they continue to indulge in verbal warfare.

Zeke starts to confuse Carly when he sends mixed signals that imply he wants more with her, but he is also very guarded because he had his heart broken a few years ago. It is obvious he likes Carly, but he’s reluctant to have a relationship with her. They both have their guards up and both struggle to drop their defenses.

Catching Carly is told exclusively through Carly’s point of view; therefore, you get to know her (and love her) far better than you do Zeke. Sometimes I missed not hearing his voice, but I am so enamored with Carly that I got over that disappointment fast. She’s the type of girl you’d love to be friends with, and you feel like you know her by the end of the book. The banter between her and Zeke is fun, and the sexual tension between them simmers. Ms. Hart writes great love scenes, and they’ll definitely fog up your Kindle. You’ll laugh at Carly and Zeke’s antics while rooting for them to take a chance on love and snag their happily ever after. Catching Carly is a heartfelt, comedic delight that should be added to your to-be-read pile as soon as possible.

“I’m never wrong. I’m a woman. It’s a universally accepted truth that, as a woman, when I’m right, I’m right, and when I’m wrong, I’m right then, too.”

“Zeke kisses me so hard it’s almost bruising. His grip is so tight there’ll be finger marks when he lets me go, but I don’t want him to let me go. Because this kiss isn’t a game. It’s raw and angry. Impulsive. Dangerous. Scary. Its the realist touch we’ve ever shared. It feels like it means something. Like it actually reflects the way he feels rather than the way he wants to feel. There’s no chase, or tease or messing with me. It’s straight to the point, clear-cut in its desperation. In his neediness.”

Now, this. This is exactly what I want in a romantic comedy: Smart. Funny. Well Written. Entertaining. Laugh Out Loud Hilarious. Those are just a few words to describe the latest release from Emma Hart. Catching Carly is one of those books that will have you laughing so hard it hurts one moment, and clenching your chest in the very next breath.

When we first meet up with Carly, she realizes she’s made a big mistake. Huge. She’s slept with her best friend’s brother. And despite how scary that realization is, she can’t fight the feelings that she has for him and boy does she ever try. Catching Carly takes you on one fun and entertaining journey. What starts off as Carly desperately trying to find a date to her grandmother’s birthday party, will quickly turn into something more. Something more than Carly every dreamed of…

Catching Carly is the ultimate friends to lovers/hate to lovers romance. The chemistry and tension between Carly and Zeke was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. They took palpable tension to a whole other level. I loved all the interactions and banter between the two of them. It was the ultimate foreplay. It was just hot, hot, hot. I couldn’t get enough of the two of them together and could not wait to see what these characters had in store for me next.

Catching Carly took me by surprise in the best way possible. Not only was it a fabulous read, but it was also filled with a lot of heart. This story is smart. It is honest. It is incredibly funny and well written. This story took my breath away and had me laughing my ass off. It gave me so many feels and had me swooning my ass off in the best possible way. Zeke was a fantastic book boyfriend and he totally exceeded my expectations. Catching Carly is the perfect story to spend the day getting lost in and I definitely recommend checking it out.

Anyone who calls herself the best friend of Brooke Barker is bound to be just as quirky and opinionated and have a brain-to-mouth filter that frequently malfunctions, and as endearing and hilarious as Carly’s verbal diarrhea may be, it also gets her into quite a bit of trouble of the frisky and mistake variety, especially when it comes to her best friend’s brother, Zeke Elliott.

For the past 11 years, Carly and Zeke have tolerated each other’s existence; because they’re polar opposites and don’t really get along that well, they’re more prone to give one another shit than sit down and watch a movie together and have a normal conversation.

But one night Carly gives into her sluttiness, losing her mind and indulging in a handsome and cocky jackass who now seems to be EVERYWHERE she is after their one night together that never happened, which irrevocably alters Carly’s life goals.

Emma Hart, once again, creates a highly entertaining as well as complex heroine who is crazy in all the best ways and would absolutely be a friend readers would want to have because as much of an asshole she can be, giving Brooke as much bullshit as possible, she always has Brooke’s back and willingly supports her and lends her an ear every time it’s needed and those qualities make Carly the best choice for a best friend.

Zeke is a bit of a wildcard because readers don’t know a lot about him besides the fact that his fiancée cheated on him, leaving him with immense insecurities when it comes to relationships and forcing him to live an unattached life because he doesn’t know how to trust again. But he does seem like the perfect match for Carly because the way they exchange barbs and the sexual tension that seems to constantly exist between them proves that they just might give each other what they need as long as they’re both willing to take a chance on their unexpected connection.

Emma Hart’s romantic comedies are playful, crazy, and down-right addictive because she expertly crafts stories with a perfect blend of steam, romance, and hilarity. Carly is just as crazy and stubborn as Brooke, which means readers never know what will come out of her mouth or what actions she’ll take that she’ll then regret and obsess over.

I’m thoroughly enjoying Emma Hart’s Barley Cross series; it’s addictive because readers never know what will come out of the heroines’ mouths and the antics they find themselves participating in are never dull or normal, which only adds to the amusement of each and every read!

Where to begin where to begin....

I've taken my sweet ass time trying to find the words to express how much I really enjoyed catching Carly.
If your in the mood for something to make you laugh then this book is definitely it.

If you thought Carly was hilarious is Brooke's book then your in for a ride of laughter in her story with Zeke . Carly and Zeke together are hilarious, they made me laugh at times when it wasn't really appropriate to. For instance I'll be on the train to work and all of a sudden I would start laughing and people would look at me like is this chick all there. Yeah yeah people I laughed big whoop.

Carly absolutely hated Zeke and his cocky arrogant self and Zeke being Zeke just loved to egg Carly on and push all her buttons. When Carly and Zeke finally come to Terms that there is something going on. It was so awesome to see that happen and I was like jack pot, this couple has woken up.

I just really loved everything about this book, it's also shows that communicating with each other instead of assuming things , will eliminate any bumps in the road that a couple may have. Communicating with one another is a must and you'll see why.

Now the ssss...eee...xxxxx!!! When these two get it on they get it on like donkey Kong. There intimate scenes are smoking hot and you just want to fan yourself. Wouldn't mind having a piece of Zeke, he knows how to work his tongue if you know what I mean ;).

Seriously guys if you haven't already read this book then I suggest that you do because it's one of a kind and this author knows her shizzzz and whips up some pretty amazing books.

"If this kiss is a battle and tongue is his weapon, then his passion is his army.”

Catching Carly is one of the most entertaining enemies to lovers story I have ever read.
It is a standalone romantic comedy that will have you laughing out loud at an uncontrollable rate- I was on the verge of peeing my pants on so many occasions, essentially when the grand-parents made an appearance in the story.

Carly’s online dating experiences provided the readers with amusement. Carly is a sassy heroine who has no filter and says out loud what she thinks in her mind. She is funny, hilarious… you name it- I so want to be her friends. When the trio is reunited – Brooke, Cain and Carly- it put a smile on my face as I felt like I was part of the gang again.

Carly slept with Cain’s brother but she hates Zeke , like hates the guts out of him! But us readers, we all know that there is a fine line between hatred and love ;-)
“Unattached. He’s unattached to almost everything and everyone outside of his family and closest friends.”

Zeke could charm the pants of anyone. I love his interactions with Carly. His cheekiness and his insecurities made him very appealing and sexy as hell! Carly drives him absolutely insane and he doesn’t know how to act around her or her dog LOL She is unpredictable !
“Go to hell, asshole.” “I already am—you’re it.”
“Wait—never mind. You’re the primary giver of shit in my life.”

Reading this was just like being inside Carly 's mind, it was very spontaneous.
Something in every chapter made me laugh, and the book was nearly impossible to put down.

Catching Carly is , without a doubt, the perfect blend of romance and comedy.
The story wasn't complex or anything heavy and was a perfect light read any day or time, but maybe not anywhere because you're going to laugh a lot ! LOVED IT!

Catching Carly is book 2 in the Barley Cross series. It can be read as a standalone and is actually the very first book that I've read by this author. I absolutely adored the wit and sassy snark of this heroine.

"Life Goal #2: Online date without unsolicited dick pics. Much like a new year’s resolution, this probably won’t last the week."

Carly has no filter and she often just blurts out what she is thinking! Zeke is the brother of her best friend, Brooke and very much a player. The banter is off the charts hilarious and I was highlighting passages throughout the book!

“You said you wanted to paint.” He shrugs.
"No, I didn’t say I wanted to paint. The wine said it. The wine is dumb. Wait, no.” I lift my glass up. “Ssh, wine. I didn’t mean that. I was just saying it. I’m sorry. Don’t leave me.”
"Did you seriously just apologize to your wine?”

Along with all of the fun humor and snark, there is a really beautiful and romantic love story of two people who are just made to compliment each other!

"I find his gaze with mine and hold it. “See, I want that happy ending. I want that fairytale kinda thing I always dreamed about when I was a kid. I want that and I want it to be real..."

Whenever I start an Emma Hart novel I know that I am in store for a lot of laughs and swoon. Her novels always have a sassy heroine and a hero that will just rock our socks off. Boy did she deliver with Catching Carly. I loved Zeke and Carly together. Their chemistry and banter was so fantastic and I just wanted more!

While this is the second book in the Barley Cross series, this novel completely stands alone from the first novel. We meet Carly in the first novel and already wanted to know her story. She has a love-hate relationship filled with Zeke. The readers can see the fireworks flying right off them. It was delicious. And what happens when their fiery and heated banter erupts? Lots of steam and laughs, folks. The perfect Emma Hart combination.

All in all this was a great book for readers who love heartwarming romantic comedies. It had a strong alpha hero and a sassy heroine who did not quit. I can't wait for her next novel! 4 stars! ~Ratula

Ever since the first book, Being Brooke, I was excited to read this story just to see how the characters played out their situation. And I wasn't disappointed! I love the sassiness, quirkiness and overall attitude of ALL of Emma's characters. Carly and Zeke were no exception. This book was awesome and if you're looking for a fun one then pick up any of Emma's books :)

Good plot, but all of Hart's female characters are starting to sound the same to me. I love a spunky, take-no-shit female lead, but not every girl in the world is like that. Most of Hart's characters are though, and Sometimes it's a little too much.
