Osprey Cove Lodge #2

Return to Osprey Cove

Rate this book
As Catherine watches the empty coffin of her husband being lowered into the ground, she’s convinced that the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death are being buried with him. But are they? Will her return to The Osprey Cove Lodge and a chance encounter with Alex Droxell hold out hope of new beginnings? There are secrets yet to be discovered. Book 2 of The Osprey Cove Lodge series is full of suspense, mystery, romance, and intrigue.

Excerpt:
"It was a kiss that seemed to match the emotion of the beauty in which they found themselves. It was soft and tender like the calm waters surrounding them. But it was also laced with the passion of the sun that had just risen and made its way through the morning clouds. It seemed to speak without words being spoken as did the inanimate objects around them. It was a kiss that lingered just as the slightest ripple from the middle of the lake lingered and made its way to the shore. It communicated a depth of love that transcended passion. Hidden in its depth was the promise of new beginnings."

About the author

Luisa Marietta Gold

Luisa Marietta Gold was born and educated in Pennsylvania, where she spent a large part of her adult life and worked for a large corporation. After her only daughter was born, she relocated to North Carolina, where she worked as a Realtor and began running a recreational business with her husband. She currently resides on eleven acres near a lake reminiscent of the Rideau lake chain that provides the setting for The Osprey Cove Lodge Series. The series was born from her love of that region of Canada, the outdoors, and lake life. Many years were spent enjoying the Rideau, staying in lodges, and for a time, her privately-owned cottage. Among her many interests are painting, cooking, baking. And of course, writing and storytelling. But it's the simple things of life that bring the most enjoyment -- the beauty of the trees outside the window of her writing room as they change with the seasons and watching her outdoor kitties interact and play. Nearly all of these interests and life experiences are reflected in her books.

Heavy reading

It was not necessary at all to tell all the previous information from book 1 in here, i literally was reading again the book 1 and adding just a few details from book 2 which I pass through. Alex was presented as an interesting man in book 1 but his character did not maintain that as well Catherine. There’s no ending in any story which makes the heavy reading, I gave it a try to see how Alex and Catherine story develop but was no deep at all and without any interesting episodes and to thing that there are more than 6 books left to read is too much, i’m ending with this one here, is to bad not having any closure with any story here

I continue to read this series only because I want to see how it ends. However, this second book was not as interesting as the first and didn’t fit the mold of a novel complete within itself. Furthermore, the author’s writing style is totally nerve wracking. It seems she knows nothing but simple sentences of the subject first followed by a verb style. She’s apparently never learned to use subordinate clauses or verbal phrases to enhance her writing style. The latter would make for a much more enjoyable read.

And the story continues...Catherine buries the empty coffin of her husband who had disappeared from her life-His car was found demolished and he was presumed dead. She just found out that she was carrying his child!

She heads back to Osprey Cove a bit early for some quiet time and meets up with Alex. They discover that her husband is now presumed dead and he has broken up with his fiance--a romance begins. Both are being careful but there is definite chemistry between them.

Meanwhile Alex has done something that will change both their lives for the better.

Again we were left with a cliffhanger--and you really will have to read this series in order!!

Moves and Changes

I was anxious to continue this story, but found too much repetition in the first 2/3rds of the book. I was able to scan quite quickly until finally getting into intriguing new events. By the end I didn't want it to end! On to book 3.

Wonderful!!

These books have been fun to read. They keep you interested and wanting to read more. I like that there is no profanity or bad violence. I would recommend to anyone who likes mystery's. And I like the fact that I can get them for my kindle at a reasonable price.

Simple beautiful composition with lovely characters and the occasional villain. Love, disappointment, triump and tragedy smoothly transition in this tale. Descriptions very rich when settings are described.

I enjoyed this book, as well as the first one in this series. It’s a good read. A sweet story, with characters that it seems you don’t see in real life anymore these days. Love the sea of the Lodge and the beautiful area surrounding it. A little bit of intrigue thrown it. Looking for to book 3

The suspense grows.

What is going to happen to the diamonds? Since this book is a true continuation of book one, it is hard to review without spoiling the first. Where is Doug? Catherine and Alex? This is a hold your breath read. And now on to the next.

Good book, several twists and turns. Keeps me going to the next book, it's a series with one book leading to the next. Price is right though. Lol

Please edit for all the errors

Names are mixed up and misspelled. Various other typos interfere with the enjoyment of reading this book. Should’ve been edited more closely.

The plot is interesting and many of the characters quite likable. The conversations between them, however, are quite stilted. I am, however, interested enough to purchase # 3.

I enjoy the writing but 20% of the 2nd book was about the 1st book. I didn't need to rehash the 1st book especially as this book was only 252 pages. Not sure if I'll follow the series.

The story is interesting but the writing is cumbersome. I'm not sure I will make it through all the books.
