An illustrated collection of photographs of houses and barns in the Northeast Ohio region that have the year (ie 1880) they were built displayed on the roof using original slate tile. This is a practice that is unique to the Northeast Ohio region, especially in the vast amount that are found.
Mr. Williamson captured the warmth of this local history that has often has been forgotten. It is amazing to see how many roofs of barns and houses that was forever memorialized with their year of building or other special references that we pass by daily in our active lives. It was interesting to see the history behind many of his wonderful photographs! I would love to see inside of many of the farm houses and barns, perhaps in his next book?
He also picked some excellent quotes for the back of his book. It shows he took his time and did his research to get the best photographs and quotes that matches perfectly to his book.
I, for one will keep a better look out for the “Still Standing” roofs when we go from one town to another so I can say, “Hey, that one was in Mr. Williamson’s book that he autographed for me!!
Thank you for you service, sir, and I can’t wait to see Volume II !
