The chance to avenge the life struggle and death of his daughter leads a Ian McDaniel to abduct and torture the physician he holds responsible, but this is more than a revenge tale. It examines the grossly overlooked risks of induced labor, the irreconcilable nature of grief in losing a child, the moral and ethical extent of human nature, and the power of women in the face of medical malpractice. To Risk weaves the stories of four women affected by the doctor held hostage in a storage unit, while it reveals the delicate tale of a little girl who lived despite him.
This is one of those books that I can't really review without giving spoilers but I will say..........
Don't read it unless you're open to something mega intense. This is not a feel good book, no fluff here. Like most heart-wrenching ordeals, we don't know how devastating they are until we go through them ourselves, but this gives you a peek........
As long as you know what you're in for as described above, I have no real criticisms of the book other than the title. To me there's a disconnect from the title to the book's contents. This book needs a title that gives the reader some inclination as to what they are about to encounter, your heart ripping from your chest, for example. From the title, I wasn't ready for what this book dealt out.
Well written - but with a a title change, in my opinion, this book could hit the big time. Currently you can find it on Amazon as an ebook. Tissues not included.
