FIRESTORM was published as a 7-part eBook serial prior to the January, 2017 release of the full novel.
Dragons were once considered mere legend. . . but some legends live and breathe.
Growing up as a friendless kid constantly bullied for his disfiguring facial birthmark, Caiden Blade always dreamed of becoming a heroic defender of mankind. So when he gets an exciting job that promises to protect a small mountain city from the impending spread of a dangerous, newly discovered species once thought to be mythical, he couldn't be more thrilled. But the illusive mountain creatures he is sent to help capture are far from what he expects. . .
Wow wow wow. This book was a loooot of fun. Seriously, I enjoyed it so much. I'm glad I have part 2, because I'm really excited to find out what happens next.
Just a few little things that knocked it down a few stars. First, I wasn't really sure on Willow's age. At first, I thought she was early twenties, and that seems to be the way her actions and speech were portraying her, but then a few things made me think that maybe she was in her fifties or sixties... so I wasn't really sure on that. There's also a bit of a time jump at the end that kind of baffled me, since it didn't really tie in to anything else in the book.
But overall, I loved this book a lot. The characters are neat, and the dragons... oh my gravy, they are so well developed. Can I have the hatchling, pleeeeeease???? And Spirit, too!!!! <3 Looking forward to the next part!
I did NOT receive a free copy of this book for review. It was bought of my own accord, and my review is completely honest. :)
