I really enjoyed this book! And it's safe!!!
Not an insta Love but the build up and growing love between the two was fantastic. And I definitely got a beauty and the beast theme to it!! And for a book that's mostly set in a snowed in cabin I still felt a lot of suspense reading it!!

-H was a one night stander/ no commitment kind of guy. In the fist chapter he wakes up next to a naked women he does not remember.... but she dead. One of his enemies set him up. ( he didn't actually sleep with her) so he Books it out of there and is not on the run. ( this is all before meeting h)
- he was a little mean to the h... she kept trying to run away.... but to be not so mean that if turned me off his character

Ok so their is an epilogue but it's in Gavin's POV obviously an Intro to his own book ( I can't wait to read) but it's set only a few days after the book ends...... I really wanted to see the main characters futures! 5 or 10 years down the road!!!!

I loved the characters, and the plot of this book, I even loved the style of writing and the chapter lay out . I was drawn in and read in one sitting.
I did keep expecting something to happen, some fast paced, action, disaster etc but it didn't come. I was a little disappointed as I think it could have been more than it was. But overall still a good book.

I just finished BOUND by J.S. Scott and Cali MacKay....and OMGGG I have never been such a willing hostage!! As far as I am concerned, Kane has imprisoned my heart and can throw away the key! But now, SOB! I am wishing I was still in lockdown with this sexy as sin billionaire on the lam!

In a nutshell, this is the spine tingling, darkly seductive tale of Kane, a self-made billionaire who is now a desperate man on the edge who's been wrongly accused of a grisly crime! With the walls closing in, he is on the run and makes a pit stop at a tiny roadside diner late at night. After some idle chitchat over a cup of joe and yummy pie with Anna, the stunning redhead owner of the cozy establishment, he is forced to take her hostage when his cover is blown and she discovers that there is a manhunt out for this dark, mysterious stranger who calls himself Phoenix!
Kane, in disguise, was on the way to hole up at his uncle's secluded cabin nestled in the Colorado Rocky Mountains because he needs to hide out until his team collects enough evidence to clear his name and figure out which one of his enemies set him up to take the fall for murder. Scott's typical swoony billionaire fare but color me MEGA impressed because I love this darker turn whilst she still stays true the trademark passion, heart and emotional depth that has made her a beloved author among legions of fans!
And I think she and another one of my top faves, Cali MacKay, may be the next romance dream team! They take readers on a thrilling, intensely emotional, scintillating erotic journey that is chock full of danger, angst, RED-HOT interludes, delicious mounting tension and heart palpitating feels!
The chemisty between Kane and Anna was off the charts and I fell hopelessly in love with them both!!! This is certainly a couple to cherish, root for, ache with, and live vicariously through!! Kane may have started off as Anna's abductor but sighhh...he was so dominantly sexy and man did he know how to cherish her with aching, toe-curling tenderness!!!
This story was so addictive, I was on sensory overload throughout! I My pulse was racing uncontrollably and I could not stop reading this UNPUTDOWNABLE romance. I swooned...trembled with delicious trepidation...and even shed a few cathartic tears along the way!
Ultimately...I was riveted by this fast paced, dark and twisty romance that squeezed my heart and kept me enthralled throughout! Although the odds were not in this ill fated duo's favor, of course we are eventually rewarded with a heart-tugging HEA which also plants the seeds for Kane's best friend Gavin's book!
And oh my he appears to be quite the tortured soul! Now I can't wait for the next thrilling Dark Horse book come May!

June 16, 2017Kane had a rough start to life, but managed with the help of his technical savvy buddy to build a billion dollar business. He was targeted by a gorgeous woman in a bar. She drugged him. They had consensual sex but then he passed out from the drugs. While he was unconscious, his enemies brutally murdered the woman he was sleeping with. He wakes up groggily and is horrified to find a brutally murdered woman lying next to him. He knows that he did not do it, so he contact his partner, Gavin and skedaddles out of town to the mountains and the cabin of his reclusive paranoid uncle's cabin. His uncle is an extreme 'prepper' with banks of security cameras, electrified fences a very modest cabin that hides a beautiful retreat below it. Everything has key codes.
Just before he heads up into the mountains with a severe winter storm brewing, He loads up on fresh groceries and finally stops at a small diner just at closing time. The food is delicious as is the owner/chef/waitress. She spots his distinctive tattoo and knows that he is the suspected brutal murderer. But he can tell she knows, so he kidnaps her to keep her from alerting the authorities.
The rest of the story revolves around his waiting for Gavin and his resources to get him out of this jam and the back and forth between Gavin and Anna. It takes a long time for her to trust him and even longer for her to love him. They get their HEA in the end. A really good story. I purchased this book. It was not an ARC. I loved it and look forward to Gavin's story next.

I've read books by both these authors before and was super intrigued when I heard about this. I enjoyed it a lot.
This is a first book in a new series but is written as a standalone and is a complete story. It has a darker edge to the usual stuff from these authors and does touch on some darker themes. It is handled well though and doesn't come across as gratuitous in any way, which is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. I'm not a fan of needless stuff thrown in for shock factor and find it a big turn off. This is not the case here. Everything is needed and integral to the story. This story is still very romantic and contains lots of hot moments as well.
Kane is on the run for a crime he didn't commit, hoping to find who framed him before the authorities catch up. He stops into a small diner where he meets Anna. She realises who he is and he knows he can't leave her to reveal his location.
This was an exciting ride that sucked me in from the get go. There's plenty of suspense but it was super romantic as well. The characters were great and I look forward to reading more about others in future books.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure about this book when I started it. It sounds good but I just didn't know if I wanted to read this book or somethings else. I went ahead and read this book and I was extremely pleased. I freaking loved this book.
This book takes no time getting started and it never really stops. If you're considering this book then I say jump on it. It's an excellent read. Can't wait to see what else these two come up with.

I had so many problems with this book that I'm not sure where to start. I liked the chemistry between the characters, but it was hard to believe it. The way the characters meet each other, and what happens between them, makes it hard to believe that they would fall in love so fast and so strongly, and especially what happens in the end, it's hard to believe they could end up together like that. I know it's a romance, and they always have a happy ending, but I expected more groveling. This is one of those books where the relationship seems like an abusive one, they try to romanticize it and make it look better, but in my opinion it didn't work.

Kane will not go back to prison and will have to hide out until his best friend and business partner, Gabe, can find proof that he did not kill the woman in his bed. While on his way to his uncle’s cabin he stops at a diner for one last good meal while waiting to hear from Gabe. He is immediately attracted to Anna the owner of the diner although he realizes nothing can happen. Before he can leave, Anna realizes who Kane is and he does the only thing he can…………
I think the authors wanted this hero to come across as bad but to me he came across underneath as strong, caring, lonely and hot! My heart went out to all this man had suffered and wanted it all to work out for him. Anna also had heartbreak that made her closed off and after meeting Kane she wanted to come out of her shell but little did she know what exactly being with Kane was going to entail. She was tough, sassy and wasn’t afraid to say what was on her mind. I enjoyed this story and was on the edge of my seat waiting for something bad to happen to the hero. The plot was a good one, well written and a page-turner. I did feel that the part where the issue was resolved (can’t say without a spoiler) was a bit rushed and could have been stretched out a bit to add more to the story but nevertheless enjoyed this book. Another hit for these great authors!

Kane a bad boy tough alpha male finds himself in a bad situation set up for a murder he didn't commit and being hunted by the law. He stumbles into an isolated diner where he is recognised by the owner Anna , he kidnaps her and takes her to a hidden fortress in the mountains whilst his friend and partner try to prove his innocence. He is really a good guy that got into a bad situation and spent time in prison but clawed his way back to become a billionaire. Anna also has her own issues but their chemistry is off the scale and he helps her overcome some of her demons. They travel a rocky road but their crazy attraction leads them back to each other. Its a great love story with red hot sex and plenty going on to keep the interest. Good book.

Kane is a rags to riches self made billionaire. He wakes up after a night of partying hard to find he's been drugged and his half-night lover is dead beside him. Refusing to go back to jail (yes, there is a backstory) he flees to his Uncle's remote cabin until he can prove which enemy set him up. As would be expected, he is all over the news.
He stops at a diner at the last city before the cabin for food and coffee. Anna is running the diner alone with no other customers at the late hour. She recognizes Kane from the news in spite of bis growing beard and baseball cap because of his distinctive tattoo. He is forced to kidnap Anna to keep her from going to the authorities. Now he has broken the law, and he still hasn't cleared his name.
They have a strong attraction that they both fight, for the obvious reasons. The story splits to chapters from each of their viewpoints. It is darker than normal for either Jan or Cali, but a well written fast read (26% of the listed pages) with the additional pages being books of each individual author.

When I started this book is did not expect what I got. It was more then good, it was fantastic. A must read. 2 stories one book. I bought this because I love author Js Scott book and have not misses ready of her books. She is that great at writing. I will say Cali is one I haven't read till this and will look forward to reading more by this author. Thank u ladies for a awesome book

Have loved J.S. Scott's Billionaire Obsession so was intrigued to try this book which pairs her up with a new author for me. Overall this was a pleasant read. I would have loved it to be a little longer - the plot was good but the Relationship between the characters seemed to come too fast. Mixed feelings
I enjoyed the book more than I expected I would given the premise. It actually had a good story and if lengthened to include a gritty action sequence of the villains would make this book above average.

Great story!
This is Bound - A Dark Horse Novel, book one in the Dark Horse series, written by Cali Mackay and JS Scott. This was a different sort of kidnapping story with quite a twist and lots of steamy spots. I really enjoyed the book.

It was slow to start
Bound wasn’t what I have grown to expect from Jan. For me It was slow to start and it took a lot of pushing through the first third of the book to peak my interest.

I loved this book couldn't put it down. Kane Abbott had no choice but to go into hiding because he was being accused of something he didn't do. On his way to his uncle Jack's cabin he stopped at a diner to have a real meal before he went into hiding, but he introduces himself to the owner as Phoenix. Anna Williams is the owner of the diner and she has her own story for being there too, when Anna gives Kane his meal she sits next to him and soon sees something on Kane that she recognises from the news. Kane has no choice but to kidnap her, but he tells her that he is innocent and that his best friend Gavin is working to find the truth. Kane and Anna after fighting it they still fall for each other, but when Gavin goes to the cabin and tells them who was responsible, Kane breaks Anna's heart by leaving her at her parents home.

Wow! I really loved this book. Could not put it down! Characters, storyline, setting, all of it was great! JS Scott is one of my favorite authors, but Cali was new to me. They make a great team!

5 Candi Kisses and a mystery
This first book in a new series by NY Times Best Selling Authors McKay and Scott is a great beginning to what I am sure will be a hit new series.
A little darker than what we are use to with these 2 authors but the story and plot blend well and the story never stops. You want to know what happens next so you keep turning the pages.
Our H/h are both running from or scare of the past and or the future. If truth is not discovered it would mean a nightmare come true for our Hero. Our Heroine is stuck in the past by a tragedy which leaves her stuck.
Can’t wait for the next book in the series. Well done ladies….

Kane was on the run for a murder he didn't commit. Coming to a small town in Colorado he made a stop at a small dinner and ran into Anna. She recognizes him and it all seems to go downhill from there. They start to get to know each other and sparks fly. Love the twists and turns. Two amazing authors did an amazing job and can't wait for next book!

I liked it but the ending was rushed. Could have been longer. Didn't like 2 other books being included as I thought this book was longer. Just getting into it and it was over.

J.S.Scott and Cali Mackay are both phenomenal authors I have devoured so many books by these two. So when I heard that they came together and wrote Bound I literally squealed. I counted down the hours until It was finally on my kindle and I read it Immediately and I loved it !
In this book we follow Phoenix and Anna .The first things I thought when I was reading this book was omg if these two end up being together they are going to have one hell of a How I met your spouse story lol . Phoenix is on the run because he is being accused of committing a gruesome crimes and he just happens to end up in Anna's diner and she just happens realize who he is really quickly. He then end ups kidnapping her and this is really where the story takes off. The sexual chemistry between these two was just insane when you read from each of there perspectives you could see that they were fighting there attraction to each other, until they couldn’t ,and you could understand why they were, in this situation that they find them shelves in it is hard for them to trust each other .When you hear about the Phoenix's backstory and what happens with Anna's parents it really made me sympathize with them , they have both been through there share of horrible experiences,it made me even more invested in these characters and made hope and wish that they would both find the happiness they both deserve. I loved everything about this story the romance was steaming hot! ,the characters were intriguing and engaging , and the plot kept my eyes thoroughly glued to the page. Bound was such a wonderful story.

What a wild and crazy ride this one takes us one. Super sexy and dark, you don't want to miss Anna and Kane's story.
After waking up confused and apparently hung over Kane realizes the woman next to him is dead. He may not remember much about the night before but he knows this isn't his doing. Until he can uncover the truth he knows he needs to run. When a quick stop in a back country diner leads him to Anna and her recognizing him from the news coverage Kane has no choice but to take her with him. What he never expected was the intense attraction to Anna or the feelings she brought out in him. Finding the truth and ensuring his future was never as important as it is now that he's found her.
