From the international bestselling author comes an emotional, dark, second chance romance continuing from the novella From the Ashes.

I fell in love with the monster. And now we covet the forbidden.

Kael

Born into a lineage I despise.
I was given the fiery phoenix to tame.
I shouldn’t want her.
But she made me feel something I never expected.
She forced me to love.

Paige

Sold. Trained. Broken.
I didn’t want to be owned,
But I didn’t have a choice when I met my Wolfe.
I shouldn’t love him.
However there’s nothing that can stop me.
He covets me as much as I do him.

*This is a dark romance, suitable for mature audiences. From the Ashes - A Prequel needs to be read first.

This is not a stand alone and at the very least you do need to read From The Ashes first. As much as Sam will always be my favourite Wolfe brother, Kael is just on a whole different level. Kael was pulled into this world despite wanting nothing to do with it, but since it was his families legacy, he accepted that he had no choice. Until he met her. Paige was forced into this world of which she knew nothing about, and forced to do things she didn't want to. It was unbearable but, she thought she had him. This is a very dark romance and is not for people who are sensitive about sex/BDSM but there is an incredible love story going on that will get you right in the feels. Dani has not disappointed with this novel and I look forward to seeing what is going on with the other characters.

Covet is bittersweet to me! I loved it but sad to see Kael & Paige's story come to an end.

Dani does not disappoint and wraps their story up nicely. It's hot, it's beautiful, it's dark, it's deep, did I mention it's H O T!!! I have so much love for these two and Dani's writing.

I definitely recommend this series to all you dark romance & BDSM Lovers but you must read From The Ashes before reading Covet.
Also, it does contain some very dark scenes that could be triggers, discretion advised.

PLEASE read "From The Ashes" first. It's imperative to get the full impact of this dark romance read, and you're robbing yourself if you don't.

If I wasn't already in love with these two & their hard fought attempt to find love where there really shouldn't be any, I sure as shit would be now.

Holy Hell - literally & figuratively - what Kael & Paige go through is... I don't even have the words. You just have to read their story, to feel it wash over you, and let it pull you under.

The way Dani guides us through their story is a thing of beauty. It's confronting and it's raw, at times it's horrifying and it's vile. But my God, the poetry within the words, within the pages & between the chapters gives you hope. Perhaps to soothe the jagged edges, perhaps to lull us into a false sense of security, safe behind the screens of our eReaders, but it's certainly to prepare us for what lays ahead.

If you thought after finishing From The Ashes that there wasn't really much left to the story of the Wolfe & his Phoenix but their HEA - you're wrong. So. Very. Wrong.

*I was provided an ARC of this book, with no expectation on the part of the author that they would receive a positive review in exchange. My review reflects my genuine opinion of this book.*

This story of 2 most unlikely couples was devastating and beautiful.
The strength of Paige, to endure what she did, and to come out on the other side strong and finding happiness and love.
Kael is the son of a ruthless, dangerous man and he struggles with the family business that he is forced into.
This series is awesome!

I received a BETA copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Dani René!

Wow. I thought Crave was amazing, but this was something else entirely. Dani René is such a talented author, it's crazy. She will take you for one heck of a wild ride. You will cry, you will fall in love with the characters, you will ache for their pain, and rejoice in their happiness. You will go through every emotion in the spectrum with Paige and Kael.

This book is not for the fainthearted, but if you do pick it up, you will be rewarded. Dani René is skilled enough to give is extreme darkness, yet always allow a sliver of hope through. I am so in awe at her writing.

I believe that Paige is so well portrayed in the novel. You will find resilience, strength, love, and a survivor. Her psychological "states" (for lack of better word) before, throughout, and after the abuse are spot on.

As it was in From The Ashes, the Phoenix symbolism was expertly laces throughout - subtle yet very present. As you can probably tell, I am in love with René's writing and am unashamed to say it in as many ways as possible, whether eloquent or not. Hopefully I'm sort of eloquent.

A MUST-READ in my opinion!

"To covet the forbidden is dangerous,
Yet, I see no threat in your eyes
When you look in mine
All you'll see is love"

- Dani René

Hot damn Dani you've done it again!! Covet is the second book in the Forbidden Series although this isn't the first time we've meet Kael and Paige. We were given a short novella which MUST be read first o.5 "From The Ashes" to really follow and appreciate this extremely intense story.

What happens to these two main characters is not for the faint hearted. Especially Paige it is a dark read that may have some triggers for some people. It's intense and heartbreaking but the connection Kael and Paige have will have you believing in fate and soul mates. Neither wanted this life it's been forced upon them. They have to live it, fight it and ultimately survive it to find there way back again.

Dani never fails to give us intense captivating reads with just enough angst but a whole lot of Hot Damn!!

Dani happens to be one of my favourite authors, I swear I love this lady's mind. She's incredible. I freaken love my wolfe Kael I can't get enough of him she could write a. Whole series just on him and I would still ask for more. Let's say I have it bad for this sexy wolfe. He's one of the sexiest Dom's I have ever met. This book needs a hell a lot more than 5star rating. 5 stars doesn't do this book Justice!!

WOW! This series just keeps getting better and better. I must admit I fell in love with Ms. René the first time I picked up and read Broken By Desire. Her flare with the written word has amazed me from day one. Her works are gifts to the world that this reader will always treasure. While the Forbidden Series is a darker genre, it’s still got the same phenomenal touch that strictly belongs to Ms. René.

Covet is a continuation of Kale and his Firebird’s story. We first met them in the novella From the Ashes. I fell in love with these two in that story and was over the moon when I saw they were getting a full length book expanding on their personal story. Paige, or Firebird as Kale calls her, is another girl that was forced into the dark depraved world of Caged. Her only bright spot was Kale, until he did the unspeakable and left without. Left her in the hands of his monstrous father. What becomes of her and her life is heartbreaking to say the least yet totally remarkable at the same time.

2 Thumbs Up for this very well written storyline that will keep readers turning the pages and feeling each and every page right down to their souls. Simply put: Well Done!

My Review:

Oh Kael you so get me... Our story is bonafide kinkery! Oh wait this isn't our story this is yours && Phoenix's * insert hysterical crying emoji* Now that I've had time to vent && process Mrs Kael Wolfe is ok!

Dani, Dani, Dani, Why do you play with my heart && emotions you have a way of making your words curse through my veins && sink into the deepest parts of my soul! This dark, twisted beautiful story had been etched into my skin forever book after book I'm hooked to this morphine drip that is Kael && The fiery Paige (I won't ever get used to calling her that BTW)

For all of you who haven't read From The Ashes you need to read it before devouring Covet or you'll be left with many what ifs and what happened. Covet really captures everything that has made Kael && Paige, who they've become the good the bad && definitely the ugly!!! Oh && that kinkery I talk about its gone up a few 100 notches from the last book (trust me it isn't for the faint of heart! I don't know how Dani can write any of that with a straight face, but am I ever damn glad she can

My Final Thoughts:

Overall Mrs. Renè has done it again, she's made me adore && lap up dark twisted kinkery! She's made this little red ridding hood fall in love with a Wolfe! BTW! have you seen the acknowledgements written right on the page Moi! The only Mrs Kael Wolfe proof #booknerds your welcome!

"You're a temptress, Firebird.""And you're a sinful seducer, Wolfe."

Omg, Covet was amazing. There was so much I craved in this series. You need to read From the Ashes to be able to understand Covet. When I read Form the Ashes, I completely fell in love with Kael and Skyla/Paige's story. There was so much between them that I wan completely addicted to them. I needed to know more. Then I read Covet and I was so blown away. The richness and the deepness really cast a spell on me. I was hooked.

Covet was not simple book about a BDSM couple or a take on control and obedience. No, it was book that devoured my soul. It was a book emanating with so much soul and emotion that cut me so deep. I felt my heart moved ever so much. I felt my soul being crushed when I was reading Covet. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had towards a book. I was captured. I was captivated. I was enamored. I was tantalized. Covet was a dark and sinful book that completely set a fire to my heart. I was drowning in it. I was sinking in the beauty and magic of Covet. Everything about this book just sizzled and burned to an inferno of brilliance. Dani Rene definitely wrote an exquisite story that captured the emotion and the true essence of ownership. Plus there were some hot and sexy scenes that totally made me hot all over.

Kael and Paige went through a lot as a couple. I felt their pain, love, emotions, and thoughts. I was so moved so deep. Kael and Paige have such a beautiful chemistry as Master and submission. It is addictive but also holds a special touch to my heart. I was consumed by them. I pulled to their story. I simply adored their amazing as a couple even though they were parts that they tore my soul apart. Paige was that sassy, fiery and innocent woman with such grace and strength. I loved how that she was vulnerable but still had some fight in her. Kael was dominant, protective and just an alpha with a heart and firmness that I marveled. I seriously fell in love with Kael and Paige. They are definitely in my list of favourite couples.

Covet definitely cemented my love for Dani Rene. I am now a huge fan. She definitely one talented lady.

***ARC provided by author for an honest review***

Covet by Dani Rene is a steamy, hot and 100% sinfully dark romance that is part of the Forbidden series. As book 2, this is not a standalone. It is highly recommended to begin at the beginning with From the Ashes.

Every emotion will be touched in this book/series thanks to the wonderful writing of Ms. Rene. Be warned however, that her skills as an author can take you to the depths of the abyss, sucking you in in her wonderful thoughts and wild fantasy! Even though her creative writing is dark in Covet, know that there is light.

Covet is beautifully told! It is raw, it is emotional! Kael and Paige are two powerhouse characters that I couldn't get enough of. Paige, forced into the world of BDSM and what she endures shows her strength but with Kael by her side you would believe they are destined for soul mates! Who would have thought?

Covet in the Forbidden series has been bumped to the top of the dark romance list in my pile! Praise for Dani Rene!

Wonderfully Dark and tortuous....

I have fallen in love with this wonderfully dark, tortuous and erotic series.... Paige and Kael first appeared in the novella From The Ashes and now they take centre stage in a full length novel...

This author is a marvellous storyteller, adept at setting the scene and creating complex and believable characters.... the two main characters take turns to tell their version of events.... from the very beginning their conflicted emotions are identified with their continual struggle between the roles they have been forced to take on and their true selves..both are victims of the worlds they have been born into....in the face of adversity they are surrounded by a group of equally damaged men and women who offer support, salvation together with another layer of plot not... to mention some steamy and erotic moments....

This is a story of betrayal, intrigue, cruelty, family loyalty and secrets but also love which rises from the ashes of torment and tribulation......there is a warning that comes with the series which should be heeded by those commencing this journey; this imagined world is dark and the wicked deeds perpetrated within it are darker still......

Covet is the perfect title for this book......in the truest sense of this word almost every one of the characters is yearning to possess something, especially something belonging to another ...... the components of the story are worthy of a Shakespearian play; the heroes are tragically flawed and the villains despicable, brutal and ruthless... each book in the series is a standalone but the threads of the plot interweave and are best admired and understood by reading them in their entirety ........this book was reviewed for Summer's Eve Reads

In order to full appreciate and comprehend everything that happens in his story between Kael and Paige you NEED TO read From The Ashes first. I love these Wolfe brothers but something about Kael and the way he is dominant yet gentle just pulls you to him like a magnet. We're taken the darkened path to where everything began, I feel for Paige and all she is living though. She's a strong woman for keeping herself together after all of that, I don't think I would be able to myself. With Kael you just know that there is so much more then meets the eye and as hard as he tries to keep that mask on it slips and he's completely exposed. There are moments my heart is beating so loud in my chest and others I'm on the verge of tears. This is truly a page turner that had me on the edge the entire time. Highly recommend one clicking this book you're not going to want to miss out. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Covet is an extremely intense story. The emotions these characters go through is not to be taken lightly. This story is also not for the faint of heart. The connection between Kael and Paige is very unique and combustible. There is an intense fire between them from the very start. Two souls forced into a life that neither of them wanted and they somehow found a way through as a unit and also alone. A dark read that may have some triggers for some people but overall this is a really great read.

God Is A Dancer
*self-purchased on Amazon. No need of sugar daddies called promo teams*

This book was incredibly steamy, first things first. The main couple was entertaining throughout, and oh, the heroine didn't make it easy for the hero. I was missing my BDSM reads, and this series was definitely a nice comeback into the genre. So addictive!!!!!! There's a lot of hurt in these books, in addition to the glossy steam and fun (only certain times). The world that Dani built continues here, and it opens up questions about what happens now! I can't wait to find out what will happen in the next book. That couple already has me intrigued.

Covet fills in all of the unanswered and unknown events that are left from From the Ashes.
I highly recommend reading From the Ashes to fully appreciate, understand and love Kael and Skyla's life journey.
Kael is dragged into a dark depraved world of his fathers and uncles making. He hates it but doesn't have the will
or drive to leave. That is until he meets Skyla. She inadvertently gives him the push he needs to leave and start over.
Paige (Skyla) is forced into the darkest filthiest vile depths of hell on earth to fulfill the perverted desires of cruel men.
Paige is given to Kael to train. In each other they will find hope and possibly something else.
Their journey is hard and heartbreaking. Covet had me feeling so many emotions. Tears, sadness but also hope and joy.
Covet is a raw emotional roller coaster of a read. It's dark, intense and gripping.
The characters are strong but still have vulnerability in them. They have a spirirt so strong it'll pull the will to survive out of them.
Ms. Rene is an outstanding author. Her writing is superb and the words and phrases she uses flow perfectly and flawlessly.
She writes books that are neither typical nor average.
Her stories are unique and not the cookie cutter types. They standout and are unforgettable.
Covet was an off the charts fantastic read!

Five Thrilling Stars! This is the second book in the Forbidden Series and should be read in order to fully understand the story. Please note that this is a dark erotic romance and should be read with caution if you have triggers. We again join Kael and Skyla's story but now we go back to the beginning to find out what happened. Kael was part of a family organization that trained slaves for working in the club. Kael wanted nothing to do with this world but since it was his family's legacy he had to do it. Paige was kidnapped and brought into the world that she knew nothing about. She was forced to do things that she definitely didn't want. The only light in the dark world for Paige was Kael and she was his light. This story is intense and heartbreaking but the love that Kyle and Paige shared was beautiful. I felt the emotions of the characters as I was reading through the story. I was captured from the beginning of the story and stayed awake into the night in order to finish the book. I thoroughly enjoyed it! The author did an amazing job writing this story and I can't wait to see where she goes next! I highly recommend this book!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. This book was read and reviewed by Annamaria for Alpha Book Club.

Covet is the second book in the Forbidden series and what a great story it is. Covet is a dark, dirty, cruel, and then some beautiful love story. Dani brings two people that fall in love in a horrible situation come back together to find out if they are indeed in love or if all the hurt and pain they suffered in the past was for nothing.

I could not put this book down. Although I was a little confused about what was going on with the secondary characters and the back story there, so I will have to read those stories, it did not take away from Paige and Kael's story at all.

I recommend reading From The Ashes first. If not you will not get the the complete understanding.

Wow! This book is amazing!! Covet is dark and emotional but hot as ever! I just can't get enough of this wonderful series! I'm not use to reading dark books and I will be honest at times it was hard to read but I'm so happy I did. It was incredible! Kael and Paige are both forced into a situation neither one of them want to be in. I love the chemistry between Kael and Paige. Their relationship is so intense but loving. My heart aches for them knowing all the hell that they go through. It's just horrifying! Will their love for each other get them through this nightmare? I don't want to give too much away but I can say Dani Rene has done it again!!! You definitely need to read Covet and the whole Forbidden series, you will not regret it!!

Covet is part 2 of the Forbidden Series. To me, the defining line in this book is:" You can never get over your soul mate" I touched my heart and it is so true...
This is a story of family loyalty with a lot of secrets, love, sex, betrayal, intrigue and sometimes, pain. The story is very dark, and sometimes the sex in the story makes you sit up a bit straighter, but Dani writes with so much compassion, that it blends perfectly into the storyline. Kael and Skyla's story is filled with just as much intrigue as that of Sam and Angel. This dark, sexy book is another masterpiece by Dani Rene, and I loved it.

I received a copy of this book for a voluntary honest review.

I needed this book. I needed more words written by Dani René. I still need more.

I can not seem to get enough of the powerhouse writer that Dani René is. Dani has a way with making the darkest desires in her writing so explosive that I am in love. I read the novella for Kael and Skyla/Paige before this book and it helped me to understand the background of their story. It also had me primed to devour this book in one sitting. The dominant man that Kael is was perfect in contrast to the woman that Skyla was in this book. I can not wait for more in this series.

Good Book.

First let me say this wasn't as dark as expected.

It's a love story and finding your way to the light.
Definitely BDSM and a few flashbacks to sexual slavery. I found it an enjoyable read. Plenty of steam and a great deal of love.

I have been patiently awaiting Covet, and it definitely did not disappoint. This book is not a standalone and at the least you should read From the Ashes.
Kael wanted nothing to do with the Wolfe family business, but nonetheless realized this was his 'legacy' and was going to at least attempt to give it a go. That was until he met Paige. She was a game changer in the very best way. He hasn't ever had a connection with a slave before this. He'd never felt the fire, the raw unbridled attraction until he met her.
His book is dark. It's not for the faint of heart. But I can honestly say if you like the darker side of life, you'll love this book. It's steamy, it's alpha goodness in all its glory. One click asap, you won't be disappointed.

Covet by Dani Rene is the sequel of From The Ashes.
I fell in love with Kael and Paige when i read FTA and their story is nothing like another love story you will find in other books.

Kael was like poison to Paige. He was a monster.Yet she fell hard for him.And got burnt in the process.Years later,Paige rises from the ashes of the past, determined not to let the past overpower her.But when her only salvation and doom resurfaces, little can be done to stop the inevitable.

And this time,Kael is back to claim his phoenix as his forever.

Intense, dark and steamy...what else do you need?

Just what I thought...so much more to them and their story than I had read from the Novella. So much more pain. So many more secrets. So much more darkness.

Paige finally has her freedom and the man she loves is back in her life. Now she doesn't know where or how to go forward, but she knows she doesn't want a life without him. But darkness creeps into your mind, even when you are at your happiest. She has demons and fears she has to face, and with him at her side, she knows she can spread her wings and fly. He will be her wind to help her soar.

Kael never thought he would have his love back, nor that they would have a life together. But fate has better plans for them. But along with their happily ever after, comes a evilness they have to overcome. They have already both been through hell, but in the mist of their happiness, their past has roared it's ugly head. There is only one was to deal with it, to go through it. With his feisty redhead, he can do anything.

Kael and Paige's story is not your typical romance. There meeting is not a romantic, hearts and roses one. Nor is their start. Their start and middle are just down right awful. Dark, dirty, twisted, and all around messed the hell up. But some how, some way, in the midst of all that, they found love. They found strength. They found truth and light. It's a crazy beautiful darkness.

I'm kinda ashamed to say this, and honestly never thought I would, but I think this one had way to much sex. With as much as I loved this one, I felt like the sex was just was too often. I would of loved if a few were taken out and I got to see more of them being a couple and doing things.

Over all, definitely a good read. If you are into the dark and twisted.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Covet. Please note: From the Ashes needs to be read to fully savor Phoenix/Paige and Kael's story.

Covet is a story of rediscovering oneself after a horrific past. What do you do when you covet something with all your heart? To covet something so much that you forget your past and present? What Paige and Kael coveted was pure love for each other. Both were thrust into a dark world unwillingly, but in each they found a kindred spirit. The horrors of their past may have left them broken, but their untainted love helped heal them both.

I adore Dani's story telling skills. You are truly invested into the characters; see what they see, feel what they feel. I cried with pain for what Paige went through in the hands of monsters, and again with joy while she was willing to explore a part of her for the sake of her lover. Kael was amazing, giving Paige time to truly be who she was and accepting the woman she became.

Covet is an incredible story with so much feel and I am happy that I have discovered Dani Rene to add to my repertoire of favorites.

I received an arc copy of Covet in exchange of a honest and unbiased review.

I have read all of Dani's previous books but this book for me was a game changer. She absolutely knocked it out the park. Just when I thought she couldn't get better she brought this book out, I don't know whether to kiss her or scream at her as I need more of her words now. I just can't bear to wait any time for more of her words.

Dani has this amazing ability where she makes me really needy for more, especially characters in particular her HOT men.

Sam is hands down my man but his brother Kael is HOT!!!! Him and Paige are one hundred percent soul mates and are absolutely perfect for each other. Dani brought these characters to life amazingly.

This book isn't for the fair hearted as this book is really dark so be warned.

Wow if ever there was a way to give more than 5 stars for a book Covet is it. This is book 2 in the Forbidden series and I honestly have to say Dani Rene' has outdone herself. I thought Crave was outstanding, but the emotional rollercoaster the arthur takes you on will have you falling in love with the characters. You'll feel what they went through and your heart will be to overflowing and it won't be the same again. You have to have read From the Ashes to understand Covet, because this book is where it all begins. All I can say is get ready for a emotional heart string pulling wild ride and there will be times where you think how can people be so evil. I had to put the book down and take a minute and breathe I've never read a book quiet like this, so bring the tissues.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
