Jack Frost was dumb, honestly! I'm so glad it was just a novella. The girl annoyed the shit out of me in just a few pages... I mean how is that possible? She needs a trophy for that!
I am so SICK AND TIRED of innocent wannabe stereotype main characters who have no self-esteem so they have to drag down all the women who dare not to be like them. So basically all women have short dresses and are man hungry and then there's our sweet conservative MC who never does anything and she's so speshool. Oh for fuck's sake, spare me!
Also the number of times the MC managed to say "oh, it's silly... It's just so silly... It's a silky tradition... I'm so silly..."!
Worse that all of this is the happy go lucky best friend who needs to be extra to make up for the fact that the MC has no personality!
3.5 stars Having never read a book of Lauren’s so far, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this book. I enjoyed this book but I will admit that I wanted a tiny bit more information on what would happen to Jack and Caty. I also have one question: how did Jack have Caty’s number to text her? He friend requested her on Facebook and had seen her in his yearbook but how did he have her number? The storyline is easy to follow and the words flow smoothly. I am intrigued about Sammy, I want to know more about her, I want her story. I liked Caty and Sammy’s tradition; I liked their friendship and would’ve liked a tiny bit more of Sammy. I loved that there was no drama in this story, it was straight to the point and although I would’ve liked to know what happened afterwards with Jack and Caty, I also liked the mystery of not knowing if they carried on seeing each other.
Caty and her best friend Sammy have a tradition; one night a year they let loose and forget the rules, they do, say, wear what they want, no overthinking their actions. When Caty’s crush Jack, invites her to his house party both girls are quick to accept and let loose on the rules. When Jack spots Caty’s picture in his old high school yearbook, he has to look her up online. When he see’s what a beautiful girl she is now even more beautiful than she used to be, he invites her to his party. With the hopes of spending the night with Caty, Jack and Caty soon realise they can’t resist one another.
Deliciously sweet. Super short fun story about opposites attracting. Just the right length for a lunch break or waiting room read. Hoping for more in this series.
