MAN OF SECRETS — There was something wrong, terribly wrong, in the long-abandoned building that was Margo Stafford's new home. And now a stranger swore that the evil she sensed threatened her very life. But who was this man who made her tremble in fear -- even as she ached for his touch? — There could be no doubt that Kane Rainer was linked to the awful secrets of this place. Margo Stafford, the new occupant of this foreboding place, senses an overwhelming malevolence lurking within its walls. Her unease intensifies when a mysterious stranger, Kane Rainer, enters the scene, claiming that the evil she feels poses a grave threat to her life. As fear mingles with an inexplicable attraction, Margo is left with haunting questions about Kane and the building's sinister past.

It's a tale that holds promise, with a premise that excites curiosity and a setting that oozes suspense. The author's ability to craft an atmospheric backdrop is evident, immersing readers in a palpable sense of foreboding. The building itself takes on an almost sentient quality, becoming a character in its own right, which I found intriguing.

The characters, particularly Margo and Kane, bring a compelling dynamic to the story. Margo's fear and her simultaneous fascination with Kane make for an interesting emotional journey. Kane, with his mysterious past and haunted demeanor, adds depth to the plot. Their budding connection, tinged with suspense and romance, keeps the reader engaged.

However, there are areas where the execution could have been stronger. The pacing felt uneven at times, with moments of intense suspense followed by slower, less engaging sections. Certain plot points and character motivations could have benefited from more development and nuance.
