Читал после посещения спектакля Андрея Могучего «Губернатор» в петербургском БДТ. Был под большим впечатлением от спектакля. Текст Леонида Андреева впечатлил не менее. Спектакль и рассказ — разные произведения, но теперь они интегрально и неразрывно связаны друг с другом.

Ce court roman, ou cette longue nouvelle, de 64 pages était citée comme source d'inspiration de la bande dessinée Le Gouverneur de Fabien Nury, cela m'avait donné envie et je l'ai lu cette semaine avec un certain plaisir. Cela se lit rapidement et c'est psychologiquement et historiquement intéressant, avec ce regard porté sur le gouverneur de Moscou, menacé de mort suite à la répression sanglante d'une manifestation ouvrière. Le gouverneur sait qu'il va mourir et s'y résigne.
