A new book of old poems, Subject Objectivity is a selected poems collection containing the poet's favourite poems from his first five collections. Vincent S. Coster began writing poetry seriously in 1996 when he set out with the very high faluting ambition of becoming the poetic oracle of the Irish race. However, he soon dropped this ambition and settled instead of being a poet who tried to tell the story of what it is to be human through various experiences. His first work was a psychedelic and surrealist work, influenced by the songs of The Beatles and The Doors. However, as he began developing material for his sophomore collection he started to change to a more story-telling mode which harkened back to the Bardic tradition of Celtic poetry. His poetry is eclectic in its style, subject matter, and scope.
