Ask good questions, listen well to their worldview, and open the door to sharing your faith. David Cashin learned how to ask good questions and listen well through ministry experience in Bangladesh, Sweden, and Muslim contexts. As a professor of Intercultural and Muslim Studies at Columbia International University, Dr. Cashin has used this experience to equip students for professional ministry. Now, he wants to do the same for you, but teaching you these seven questions designed to help Christians share their faith in a natural, relevant, and respectful way. The Seven Essential Questions of Life teaches you skills to do evangelism in a way that encourages both the evangelist and the seeker. This is an invaluable book to help you open the door to sharing your faith.
David Cashin proposes a helpful method for engaging with non-Christians of various worldviews in order to reach them with the gospel. This method consists of asking them seven different questions all dealing with life in general and then taking time to listen and understand them and thus also have opportunities to share one's own beliefs. The seven questions are indeed very important questions everyone should ask themselves, some which many people have very strong views on and others of which many people do not even think about. Prepare for some interesting and deep conversations when asking these questions!
A good book on world religions and how they seek to answer certain basic worldview questions. There is a great deal of information about various worldviews and this book is not one to read and then get rid of but one to hold on to as a resource for information that would be useful for Christians talking to people from the various religions/worldviews.
Dr. Cashin is an amazing professor, and I recommend this book so much. He introduces a new way to engage in conversation with people we don't know or people we do know. I have used this method to get to know two of my Muslim friends more, and it has been so helpful and insightful.
Appreciate the concept in a world of western evangelism that so often is rebuffed. This book discusses from a value and belief standpoint and emphasizes relationship to better understand a person.
Helpful insight & information on how to engage with, listen to, and share with those of other religious identities through questions instead of direct presentation
