Rate this book
A Cupcakes-And-Crime Caper

Everyone thinks Samantha Wells died of natural causes. Everyone, except Tiffany and Ian, whom Samantha called the night before, complaining about death threats.

Could this really have been the perfect murder?

Tiffany must juggle her pushy parents, "helpful" Nanna, and blossoming love-life, all while trying to track down wacky suspects and enjoying a cupcake or two for energy.

When Tiffany Black gets a phone call, from prospective client Samantha Wells, she's happy for the business for her fledgling private investigation firm. Samantha tells Tiffany that she has been receiving death threats and before Tiffany and her business partner, Ian, can meet with her - Samantha dies a suspicious death.

The two P.I.'s have to wade through a cheating spouse, employees and volunteers who hated Samantha and continue the search for the elusive, gorgeous and dangerous, Stone.

I enjoy this series because the characters are relatable and wonderfully flawed. Both Tiffany and Ian are likable and with the addition of feisty Nanna to the team, life will never be boring!

I recommend starting at the beginning of the series so you can watch the characters develop. Oh, and be sure to have plenty of cupcakes handy while you're reading!

Tiffany's latest client is a wealthy socialite who is receiving death threats. Before Tiffany can even meet with her, she gets murdered. It turns out she was thoroughly unlikeable so there are many suspects to choose from. The majority of the story involves the solving of the crime, which I found to be a bit dry and I struggled to get through. There is very little mention of the mystery that is "Stone" and also very little about her new love interest, Ryan. I happen to like those elements added to a story. I have realized that I liked the earlier books in the series much better when Jack was part of the action. This just wasn't a book I would knock myself out to purchase.

Tiff gets a call from a woman who is getting telephone death threats. She's rich, moody, & sits on a museum board. Setting out the next day to meet her, Tiff & Ian are surprised to find Detective Elwood instead and the woman dead. Seemingly killed by falling object from the earthquake the night before Det. Elwood closes the case. Not satisfied, Tiff & Ian investigate finding suspects among the woman's house staff, husband, board members, & artists. Gathering information to prove murder keeps them busy. Along the way Nanna & Wes are back to live in Vegas part time and Nanna wants to help. Tiff has another date with Ryan which is going well until she spots Stone. Still in hiding he comes out to ask for Tiff's help. There's still that zing there and I can't wait to find out what happens next.

I found "A Perfect Murder in Las Vegas" to be a rather average effort in book #8 of the Tiffany Black series from AR Winters. The "perfect murder" storyline attempted to get you to look at the spouse as the primary suspect with the main motive but it was developed thinly enough for you to not fully buy into it. On a positive note, the pace of the tale moves quickly and Winters character development of casino employee/part-time investigator Black and her interesting neighbor/investigator partner Ian. Not too much development on a reocurring secondary storyline involving Tiffany's mysterious friend Stone, but it looks like it may become more prevalent in the next book in the series.

Book 8/32 in the Tiffany Black Mysteries series.

In this edition, Tiffany is contacted by a woman who is getting death threats. She makes an appointment to go and meet with the woman, however an earthquake happens and the woman is found dead in her home supposedly from some items that fell on her during the earthquake. Tiffany and her partner Ian think it is something more sinister and investigate the death of the woman and unveil all sorts of secrets people are hiding.

Tiffany receives a call from a client who is receiving threating phone calls and the next day when Ian and her went to see her she was dead. The LVPD ruled it an accidental death but Tiffany did not believe and got the victems sister to hire her. The victem had a lot of people who did not like so there is a lot of suspects. Stone showed up while Tiffany was on date to complicate things. Great reading with humor and romance mixed into a mystery

Good series

This is a good series. I like the characters, and their quirky ness . Having said that, for me, this was not one of the better ones. This felt rushed, and more of a setup for the next book. The mystery was ok, but again too rushed, with no real development of the suspects,or victim. Skip this one, and go to the next one in the series.

good family style mystery

I like each book, and I’m about to start book #8. Questions: why is Tiffany not paying Alan for his assistance? And why does he not have enough of a monthly allowance from his trust to get a vacuum cleaner, nor at least go on a weekend getaway? Not believable enough. Please round out storylines better. Thanks’

Quick and Fun Read!

Really enjoying this series! Cupcakes or no cupcakes, Tiffany and Ian squirrel their way through the suspects and sometimes end up in great danger. However, their way of investigating generally takes every one by surprise. Plus Tiffany's Nanna tends to try to help but often ends up getting them into trouble. Can't wait till the next book.

Not all things are due to nature

When Tiffany gets hold of an idea she doesn't let it go until she has an answer. Tiffany is someone you want in your corner of you ever need help. Could be a stand-alone.

This is the first time that I have figured everything out before the end. Now I must skip a book because I cannot pay $5 for a book at the moment. It's quite ridiculous that a 20+ book series is available on Kindle Unlimited except for a single book.

Slight improvement

Better than the last few, but still not great. The writing could still use a loot of work, and the story is all over the place. What guy are we rooting for here?

Not nearly as good as her other books but you're bound to have a lemon once in a while. I skipped some of the book and went to the end.

Tiffany Black gets a phone call by Samantha Wells a prospective client about death threats she is receiving. As Ian and Tiffany head over to meet with Mrs. Wells the client is dead. Tiffany interviews everybody to get to the bottom of the case. Tiffany like always finds herself in trouble. It was another good read and it is a must read to find out who killed Mrs. Wells. She is not liked at all she has been mean to a particular artist will Tiffany get to the bottom of the case or will a killer get away.

This is a fun mystery that fans of the genre will love. Tiffany gets called by a client who is being threatened. When she shows up for her appointment, the woman is dead from what the police believe is just a tragic circumstance. Tiffany and sidekick Ian decide her death needs to be investigated. Add in the cupcake obsession, Tiffany's attempts to date a police officer, and random Stone sightings and you have all the ingredients for a delightful novel and fun novel.

While this is a stand alone novel, you will enjoy it so much more if you've read the prior books in the series.

I am in love with the Tiffany Black series! I thoroughly enjoy A. R. Winters writing and this book was no different! A Perfect Murder in Las Vegas was full of fun, excitement, mystery, and a dash of romance!! Tiffany and Ian are busy solving cases and eating cupcakes, while Nanna is as funny and spirited as ever! This book (and others from the series) is fun and lighthearted, but also a great mystery! A definite must for those who enjoy a humorous mystery!!

Light hearted cozy mystery. Tiffany Black is a dealer in a casino on the strip in Las Vegas. I really like the setting for this series. The glamour of the strip and then the complete ordinariness of the rest of the town was endearing for some reason. Tiffany can be a lot of ditz (think Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich) but it wasn't too bad.

I love the banter between Tiff and Ian. Ian's hilarious. Such a moron at times. Mystery was alright. Enjoyable read.

I thought the mystery in this book was better than the last in the series - it felt more developed. I didn't feel there was enough romance between Ryan and Tiffany. Either make him the love interest or don't. I was disappointed, after the last book, that Stone only made an appearance at the end as a teaser to the next book in the series.
