folksy historical accounts. Probably not all historical fact, but gives a good account of the general circumstances in the Keweenaw back in the day. Some of the stories are pretty scatterbrained and hard to follow.

A picture of my mother is on the cover of this book. which includes stories about the people who lived in the Copper Country of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. My mother grew on on Isle Royale where her father had a commercial fishing business. I've found this historical book to be a great resource in teaching my children about their heritage.
