I read this choose-your-own-ending book and then gave it to my grandson for his birthday. He is eleven and gave me permission to quote him. This is what he wrote in his thank you note:

"The book BACK TO PASS is really fun to read and part of the reason is that it is about football and the choices are sometimes really hard. And the other part of it is that it es easier to read than other books because it doesn't spend so much time on the storyline and just got right to the fun part."

I think the storyline statement comes from the choose-your-own ending format; the plot does unfold differently than in a one-ending book. This is only the second such formatted book I've read and I truly enjoyed it.

Oh I used to love reading “choose your own path” books when I was young. My daughter would give me one of those looks when I tried to explain to her about the books. After reading this myself, I let her read it too and she loved it.

I think this book is great for young people. It teaches them that we all have choices to make, and all have consequences. I think “choose your own path” books are good for encouraging people to read more – giving them the choice to choose where the book takes you, rather than letting the book direct you page by page. It’s a more fun way of reading, and more likely to keep their attention.

I would recommend this book. My daughter would too.

I received this book as a Goodreads giveaway. It is for middle grades and I thought it was an interesting read. The readers chooses where to go in the book as they answer questions directing them to certain pages. I've never read a book like that. Very fun. The book will soon be making an appearance in Tess' Little Free Library in Windsor, Missouri.
