Stories of a boy coming of age in the rural south during the thirties and forties. Non fiction, interesting and easy reading. Short stories about growing up during the Great Depression.(This books has been reprinted four times)
This writer apparently prefers telling to showing and passive voice to active voice. The stories are interesting though. Life was vastly different during the Great Depression. I can't imagine what it would be like to have so little. It made life simpler in some ways, but more complicated in others. I wish I could hear James Hanna tell these stories in person.
