Franny is lamenting the fact that she has no man or excitement in her life when a handsome photographer knocks on her door. He asks if he can take some pictures of her cat for a pet food commercial. When they develop the pictures, Franny and Jason are stunned by what they see... ... the ghost of a little girl.
This is such a special book. I cried and laughed and cried again. There is romance and ghosts and mystery in this book. I hope there’ll be more stories about Android , Franny, and Jason soon.
I thought this book was really beautifully written. Some reviewers took the liberties the writer gave too much to heart, because, after all, it is fiction. I think it was a sweet, amazing, loving story of two people who found each other through a cat who has a very special gift. Jason and Franny are just everyday people living a normal life, not fancy or rich. Android is an amazing cat that was chosen over a car- haha. I think, I too, would rather have Android!! It really makes us think, about ourselves, the ones who have left us, and what we are doing to our beautiful world. I'm happy I read it, it kind of gave me hope.
I received this book free from one of the book sites. I do not remember which one! This is my honest review. The cover intrigued me, so I went with it & downloaded for free. What I read was the sweetest love story! Android is definitely the shoe stealer though. Without him, there wouldn't have been such a great ghost story. If you like the paranormal & romance, this is definitely one you should not miss! Recommended by me to you.
Another reviewer was right: it does get preachy at the end. But that is what saves it from being a total fluff piece. A quick, light read until you get to Japan and NatGeo. I'm not sure that the bit on pet quarantine is accurate though. I had to hold a cat 6 months in 2010(?) before he could move to Japan with his family.
This is such a beautiful story. One that i wish were true. How comforting it would be to communicate with our deceased lived ones and to be able to take a photograph with them. Such a wonderful story, so compelling that I read it in a few hours. I highly recommend this book to everyone who loved a good ghost story.
Most ghost stories written are rather scary. This one wasn't. I really enjoyed this short and sweet ghost story about Franny and her cat, Android, who meet a handsome photographer, Jason. Then when Jason takes pictures of Android, an image of a young girl appears with him. Then the darling ghost story continues and finishes on a sweet and romantic ending.
This story is one of fun and I found myself having a difficult time putting it down till the end. I enjoyed all the new friends we all made. Some ghosts are just great to be with.
It was okay. I liked the cat, but is it really practical for someone who is a nurse and has a part-time job to purchasecac$20,000 cat? The book was too much romancy for me.
The theme is fun, a cat that facilitates ghostly appearances. A photographer that catches them on film. That's the end of my enjoyment of this book. I found the dialogue too cute, the hookup too unbelievable.
Unusual in the sense that the central conflict is resolved in the first couple chapters and the rest is all the characters being happy and not having any problems. Everything goes right for everyone. Weird.

Franny is at home on a Saturday morning, eating ice cream and lamenting her lack of a romantic life, when a handsome photographer rings her doorbell and asks if he can take pictures of her cat.
Her half-Bengal, half-Savannah cat. Twenty-two pounds of handsome cat.
It's the start of a silly but fun story, in which pictures of the cat unexpectedly include pictures of ghosts who previously owned the furniture used. Franny and Jason (the handsome photographer), first see a little girl in "old-timey" clothes, whom they call Alice.
Alice is the first, but far from the last, and they are even more intrigued when they realize the cat and the ghosts are able to interact.
In many ways, Jason is just too perfect. He's not only a successful photographer. He also sings, and plays the piano, and cooks. It's all a bit much. Franny is nice, Jason is nice, the cat is nice, pretty much everyone they know is nice. I like having characters who are good people in the fiction I read, but this lack of any real conflict is not a strength in fiction.
And yet, Brulte does go somewhere interesting with the ghost photography, and while not a very strong story, it is fun.
Recommended for a light read.
I think this book was a gift. I am reviewing it voluntarily.
The romance was simplistic. Instant love on both sides. The idea of a cat that interacts with ghosts is not new either. A very simple read with an overly rosy tone.
This read like a true story. It was quite enjoyable. I would love to meet Android and perhaps I too could see my loved ones. It was a sweet story. Thank you, Millie
I thought this was going to be a fun and exciting read but it was ever so much more. I got chills and cried through almost every chapter. It's a "made you think" book. And that's alright. We all need to think about this type of thing sometimes.
