Jason Kirk (a.k.a. Brasswax) is the author of "A Fabulous Hag in Purple on the Moor," "Reverb," and "The Other Whites in South Africa," as well as the composer of "The Mirror of Simple Souls," an opera collaboration with librettist and poet Anne Carson. He received his Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from the University of Michigan, and his writing awards include Hopwood Major and Minor Poetry Prizes. His recent work has appeared in the anthologies "WA129," "Footsteps: Poems for Homeless Veterans," and "Phantasma: Stories."
