The Devil's Darlings #1

Falling for Grace

Rate this book
Grace’s family didn’t exactly get into the Christmas spirit, and she was dying to see what all the fuss was about. She wanted to drown herself in eggnog and hot chocolate, stuff herself full of sugar cookies and gingerbread. Grace longed to sing carols and sneak sweet kisses under the mistletoe. Didn’t she deserve a chance at a little holiday romance?
More than anything, she wanted to experience the most wonderful time of the year, even if that meant she had to escape Hell. The consequences just might be worth it.

Aidan was dreading the holidays. After a year filled with heartbreak, all that holly jolly nonsense wasn’t offering much appeal. Scrooge had the right idea to work straight through the Christmas season. A veterinarian in downtown Seattle, Aidan would much rather spend the holidays with his furry patients. But, his sister has other plans for him.
When he unexpectedly crosses paths with a pretty blonde, he is suddenly filled with more than the Christmas spirit. Is his heart ready to love someone so special?

The holidays are about to become very merry.

Grace and Aidan.......
I absolutely loved this book! Falling For Grace was so much fun to read! I think I was smiling throughout the entire book.

Grace is the youngest of three sisters. Grace has reached a point in her life where she is looking for a change of scenery. Yeah, if I lived in Hell, I'd be looking for a change too. Lol. She doesn't exactly know what she is looking for or where she will go, only that she aches for something more in her life. Grace is going to visit Earth for the first time, no matter how much her sisters try and change her mind. Did I mention that Grace's father is the Devil himself? Yep, former angel fallen from God's grace.

I don't want you to think this book is dark. There is some sadness and even heartache but that doesn't give the premise of dark romance. In fact, I found Falling For Grace lighthearted and entertaining more than anything else. I really loved every aspect of this book. I loved the characters and look forward to reading about the next sister, Faith, and the journey she will embrace.

Aidan is a Seattle vet. He lives alone; no girlfriend and not even a pet. Aidan is lonely and still hurting over the loss of his mother to cancer that past year. He is not looking for love but when he meets Grace, he realizes pretty quickly that she may help him to open his heart to love again.

Grace and Aidan's journey to a HEA is not easy. I wouldn't say is was a difficult path; just one with a few hurdles. I don't want to give away any details and spoil the story for you. I can say that this book was well written with a steady pace and included a cast of delightful characters. I actually kind of liked the Devil, himself. The dialogue was charming and witty and the written scene was picturesque.

So this book is written with the Christmas holiday in mind. I don't usually read Christmas romances during the rest of the year but I wanted to read this one. I'm so glad I did.

So if you are a fan of light suspense, fun characters, and an amazing H/h I recommend you add this to your TBRs.

What a story! You'd think being the Devil's daughters was all fun and games and it is to a point but when you want to see what else is out in the world things aren't so easy anymore. Grace wanted a vacation on earth to experience what's outside of Hell and she got exactly what she wanted, was able to experience so many new things and some unexpected ones as well. Aidan wasn't looking and yet had come across an angel and his entire world changed. This story is filled with laughter and love and of course a bit of family drama. You have to expect that when your fathers the Devil after all. I just loved it from beginning to the end and cannot wait to read about Faith's story next. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Only Gloria Herrmann can take a story about the devils daughters running away from hell, and turn it into a sweet love story, I am very familiar with Gloria's writing, and even I had no idea what to expect with this book.

What you will find, is a super sweet Christmas love story about a woman, Grace, who want to become something she's not.
A charming veterinarian, Aidan, who despite being on the rebound is looking for Miss. Right.

When their paths cross there is an immediate spark.

The story goes on to tell of a charming family Christmas celebration and the accidental reveal of Graces angel wings. Turmoil kicks in when no one knows how to react and Grace's father, the devil, gets angry because she didn't return home on time.

Grace is fun, flirty and outgoing. The author does a great job at giving you the awesome love story that she does so well. I do wish there were more details on her wings and appearance. Once her wings were discovered it became confusing if her wings had been hidden or simple invisible to humans.

I over all give this 4 <3 <3 <3 <3

Graces family don't do Christmas and she really wants to experience what everyone else does at Christmas like a normal person. Finding out her plan her sisters decide to go with her which doesn't exactly work out and them heading home without Grace. Grace has to stay to see where her feelings are going after she meet Aiden and when he invites her to spend it with his family she jumps at the chance. This a lovely romantic Christmas novella which some twist which you wont expect. This is a must read story and I would highly recommend to others. Can't wait to read more of this series to find out more about the other two sisters.

THis was a cute little holiday romance. I really enjoyed reading it.

Grace and Aidan are complete opposites with lots and lots in common reguarding the holidays and how they feel about it and how they want it to go.

I really feel for Aidan and what he has gone through in the past year. How it keeps dragging him down and down and how the holidays are just breaking his heart more and more.

Ah family, no one knows just how to get under your skin like family, huh? Grace Morningstar has about had it with her sisters, Hope & Faith. Well that's not exactly true, she adores Faith but Hope, ugh she's the worst. Grace had decided a little adventure is in order and what better time to venture off than Christmas? She's getting the heck out of Hell. That's right, Hell. Hades, the underworld, h e double hockey sticks, Hell.

Hell at Christmas time, if you imagine it's a little under decorated and bah humbug, you'd be right. Grace grew up as the pampered, favored daughter of...you guessed...Satan. Didn't know ole Lucifer has kids, did ya? Yeah me either.

Grace wants to experience life outside the fiery realm and see what Earth holds. She especially longs to experience Christmas and the magic of the season. Packing her bags, she steps from one realm into another, right into Seattle (who knew? *giggle*).

Aidan is feeling a little bah humbug himself. Losing his beloved mother has sort of sucked the spirit right out of Christmas. His overprotective sister, Kim is pestering him about joining her family for the holiday but he's just not into it. He'll probably work too hard and then crash by himself. Until he meets a woman that bewitches him. Meeting Grace was like fate and he can't wait to share the holiday with her. She looks at everything so differently, sort of like, she's never seen it before and it's so refreshing! Maybe there's some magic left in Christmas, after all.

Grace is on a timeline to return home but the longer she spends away and the more time she spends with Aidan, the less Hell feels like home. Dear old dad is less than pleased, as you might imagine and poor Grace is so confused. Especially when grandpa shows up... oops!

The spirit of Christmas is full of faith, hope and grace, but the greatest of these is love. Something God bestows on us all, even his beloved granddaughters.

This was a completely unexpected, utterly adorable tale lying somewhere between the mystical and the spiritual. Don't worry, it's not preachy but I couldn't help but love the ribbon of hope (not the bothersome sister kind but the kind from above) and redemption woven through it. Maybe everyone has some good in them?! Can't wait to see what lengths Faith will go to in order to bring her sister home...and what her journey will lead her to find about herself!

Great story from Ms. Herrmann!

ARC received from the author in exchange for an honest review

I totally loved this book! A mix between a fairy tale, a romance and true life.
The storyline is apparently simple: Grace lives in a family that is not “usual” and doesn’t like Christmas time. She decides to escape from home, Hell, to experience the real Christmas spirit on Earth. Here, she will find more than she expected: a man, a new loving family, Love.
What makes this story so special? It’s special because through the lines, the reader will find the eternal battle between Devil and God, between faith and unbelief, good and bad, hate and love, father and son. The conflict between sibling.
Have you ever been torn about making the right choice, or forced to choose between doing what you think is right and what your heart wants? This is what happens to Grace and Aiden.
This book is romantic, even funny, with a little bit of magical.
Gloria’s writing style is always flowing, spontaneous. In this book Grace sometimes address herself to the readers, making them feel part of the story.
Christmas time is over, but it’s not too late to read this beautiful book.

To find love and happiness you need to open your heart to faith and truly believe that miracles sometimes happen.

I can't wait to read Faith and Hope stories.

Oh Gloria.

This is my first glimpse into Gloria Herrman's imagination and boy am I glad to be here.

This festive (holiday novella) will bring you into the world of a protagonist who wants to experience a world that she doesn't typically get to. I read this, then re-read it, and I love Gloria's character development and quick wit! It is a lovey-dovey, smart and enjoyable read.

I'm so excited to see what she's going to do next!!! My thumb is ready to click that pre-order button
