Sandy is a very happy wife and mother that has spent majority of her life moving up out of poverty to get away from freeloading people in her life. She understood that many individuals in her surroundings have been taught and groomed to freeload off of the more financially secure friends, family members, or strangers without contributing so Sandy broke the curse with her own family, teaching them hard work by leading by example. She became a successful attorney at a law firm and with the help of her husband and moved her family up into an even safer neighborhood. Vowing to never be taken advantage of again by loved ones she has a change of heart when a familiar person that had a hard life comes back around after being out of touch for years.
