Opium
This story right here....Man...I tell ya. I might have drove myself crazy trying to write this.
I wasn't interested in the baby mama drama, the cheating, and side chick stories like in the previous series. I wanted to build a story with storylines based off hope, flaws, secrets, ratchet ways, and eventful nights. Budding love, and mind tangling sex, violent verbal, physical, mental fights, couples beginning a new journey while others are coming to an end. Definitely not the most well written synopsis for a book, but that lets you know I am telling the truth about this story lol. Stories of two people growing up side by side of each other, and never realizing it until they finally connected, and fell in love. Or, the girl falling for that annoying hood nigga next door that likes to shout out to her every time she goes to the mail box. That forbidden love where a thief of the streets tries to steal the heart of a rich woman...Bambino was definitely the introduction to our characters, to the drama, and lifestyle in Atlanta. Opium is for my dreamers, my country folks, my romantics, and book addicts alike. Taking us further into the madness.
Picking back up where we left off in Bambino ladies.

The suspense in this book is wow! The way Desiree writes is truly unreal. The storyline jumps but somehow captures every couple/individual story so well. I’m ok with the cliffhanger but I’m jumping into Delirious asap!

Book 2 and babyyyyyyy, what a ride we are on. I love it when Desiree introduces new characters, and the dots connect quickly. I will say, as women, these men they are choosing suck! Paris, Gunner, and their pack are tacky, and at this big age, they need to start growing up. Gator got some nerve talking shit and robbing people but will not steal a lotion bottle with his ashy ass. Tuesday standing up to the pack of wolves and Paris was something I truly enjoyed; when she’s not making a joke of things, her intelligence and understanding show. She’s quick to call a spade a spade.
Terrance doing all that to commit suicide pissed me off! You’re too chicken shit to stand your ground in your family! Instead of plotting on Savannah, you should have gotten to know her, and you both could have gotten the courage to stand up to your families and say no. Phew! There is so much to unpack here, so this is more of a rant versus a review
Trudence I like you and all, but don’t piss me off getting close to Loso because, young or not, he openly bullied you and gave no fucks about your feelings. I do not like Savannah and Paris switching places with Moe and Gunner. I feel like Savannah, you are at a point in your life where the wolf pack is not the type of loyalty you need when you witnessed how they did Monae and how they are grown men still looking for a mother figure. Monae and Gunner are lying to each other with Paris in the mix but overstepping in my book. I enjoy the scary part of Jason and how Tuesday quiets everything for him, but I hope his heart does not end up broken even though he knows who Tuesday is. The way all the men came together was brought together so lovely and chaotic, Desiree.
Junie Boy is hilarious and just the balance we need in the book, but him dogging Neveah because he is scared to like a woman had me upset. Yayo is the perfect person to reason with everyone, but even this is out of his control. I hope Casen is not dead, but I do hope all of them come together in book 3 and take care of the Carter and Turner family members and all of the punk-ass Freemans.

I liked the concept of the story but it's not easy to follow because it seems like it's too many different stories happening at the same time. I think there are too many characters and side stories happening as well. It wasn't a terrible book. It could have been a great book if there wasn't so many characters

Spectacular
Another I installment that has took me up and through there. I loved every minute of this book. Tuesday Carter is a true character and I think her and Jason are the perfect couple. Even though I think she is secretly in love with the molester who had her for years.
I think Savannah has finally come into her own and Paris will be by her side. She will finally have the kind of support she always craved.Paris can have what he secretly envied of Gunner and Moe. I just can't wait to see how the sex tape and other family scandal will play out.
I'm so glad that Junie got his girl but I believe her sisters are going to run him off. Onto the next book because I need answers with that cliff hanger.

Omg
I'm not like most reviewers, because some reviews will having you thinking one way when it is completely different for you. I understand why Desiree how she wrote this book, but I really wasn't feeling the first few chapters, clearly why it took me 5 days to finish this book... But,she did an excellent job I was thoroughly enthralled in this book can't wait to get Delirious!!

Between Tuesday and Devyn, that night with the men in the car, the Carter boys just being them, I cracked up throughout what should have been some tragic moments.
If Trudence and Loso go the way of everyone else in these books, though, I’m going to scream. Ain’t no way.
Anyway, this is the first author to put a hold on me like this in a long time. Desiree can tell a story and describe her characters in a way that makes you feel like you’re staring at pictures of people instead of words on paper.

More new characters and even deeper secrets. This book was filled with a lot of selfishness and weakness. Devyn and Tuesday definitely were the stars of this book and they’ve become my favs. I’m so ready to see the outcome once the media gets involved with the secrets the Freeman and Turner family have been hiding. Desiree is still very descriptive with the clothing and that annoys me lol but other than that I enjoy her writing

I’m so happy I read Hoodwinked prior to this because knowing some of the characters make this even more enjoyable! I was up until 2am anxious heart beating fast because of all the stuff that goes on in this book! I’m so sad that there will be a point where I won’t have anything else to read by Desiree and that realization makes me so sad. No matter what people say about the editing not being up to par I still fly right on through these addicting books because they are THAT GOOD!

It's all coming together...
Full circle 6 degrees of separation. I'm loving the reads from Desiree although I don't get through the books as fast as I'd like with work, taking care of the family and TV series I'm just as hooked on as I am these books from her, I manage and I'm never disappointed. On to the next book.

Excellent
Opium was the perfect name for this addicting read. I love how all the characters are connected to each other in some type of way. Junie Boy Carter is a straight fool and kept me laughing throughout the entire story. On my way to read Delirious, I can't get enough of these characters and their crazy stories.

Drama still popping off between the Turners, Freeman's and Carter's. Not to mention the Florida boys are in the mix. So many secrets and lies. Some new relationships are forming which is good. The Carter Boys ....... Demarco and Junie are funnier then ever. Can't wait to see what happens next. Will the truth come out about the Turner family????

My new favorite novel!!!
Moe, Naveah, Devyn, Savannah and Tuesday...what more could you ask for???!!! The best female characters ever. Laugh out loud funny. The men are just as much a challenge, but the women rock. I want to read the next novel by this author. Excellent job!!! Thank you.

Okay so I didn't really think I was going to like this book too much because the first one, Bambino didn't move me much. In fact, I debated on whether I was even going to read the sequel, but I had already downloaded it with the first book, so I decided to give it another shot and I'm glad I did. I loved it.

Listen, this is seriously one of the best series I have ever read. This author is extremely talented. I’m just amazed because this has some many unexpected twists and turns. And that damn Paris, I’m giving him some serious side eye. This authors series is so refreshing and hilarious. Definitely recommend this

So much to love about this book. Desiree knows how to tell a tale and I can’t stress enough how skilled she is at fleshing out characters. I loved the scene with the guys in the car, realizing their connection through their women and discussing their current problems like longtime friends.
A great follow up to Bambino, I can’t wait to get to the Skye Sisters!!!

Desiree is a great! I love how all her characters connect with one another. Opium is something different than her normal with The Carters. Now it's The Freeman's and The Turners, and they come with A LOT of drama! Can't wait to see what happens in book 3

The only parts I found interesting was Junie Boy and as usual the Skye girl. I didn’t even read Trudence’s part. I read them out of order so I had no interest in her. I didn’t care for her in the other stories either.

Confusing
There are too many viewpoints in this book with so much going on at once. The grammatical errors are distracting. The book has so many unnecessary detail. Not sure why these stories needed to be spread out over 4 books.

Absolute must read!!
