Gage Martin has been running from his past and keeping secrets from those he considers friends for the past decade. But you can only run for so long. Trapped behind enemy lines with the beautiful, Dr. Minerva Carpenter, he vows to keep her safe while infiltrating the small resistance inside the evil World Alliance territory. Threats surround them and enemy forces are moving in, but he can’t help the way he feels about the compassionate doctor. Minerva Carpenter isn’t a soldier, she’s not suppose to be thousands of miles from home, stuck in an underground bunker with a small resistance group that has no idea what they’re doing. Separated from the rest of their team, she and sniper, Gage Martin have no choice but to work together. The closer they become the more she realizes he hasn’t been honest with her. Will his secrets ruin their budding relationship? Worse, will they end up getting them both captured by the World Alliance?
I am happily married to my husband of almost nine years and have two wonderful children.
I have always loved reading and writing and am thrilled to have published my first novel.
Paranormal romance is my go to genre and the genre I prefer to write in. I love the unique feel of creating an entirely different world and implementing it into the human verse.
Very good story...Needs some proofing though. A good beta reader should be able to catch most of the errors. The writing is very good but I am wondering if English is the authors first language because throughout book 2 and 3 the unmarried daughter of the villain Katie Murdock as was referred to as Mrs. Murdoch. The honorific is Ms. or Miss for a unmarried woman. Ms. Mrs. is used for a married woman. Honestly here it the states Ms. may cause the least offense since you don't know if a women wants to be called Mrs. unless she states a preference to be called such. I think the author did catch a few of the Mrs. because in the last few chapters of book three Katie Murdock did suddenly become Ms. Also the word form was used for from numerous times. There is some awkward phrasing here and there and the character Ethan was heard talking out in the hall when his character is mute. This would be a 5 star book with very little effort...but as is the errors interfere with the enjoyment of the book...
OOOh the action is hotting up and we learn some BIG secrets that Gage has been keeping. Like who he really is, why he joined the rebellion and more importantly why he heals so fast!!!
Laura is a doctor and on the run from the World Alliance. They may have got her mother but she has no plans to end up in their clutches. She had a bit of a one nighter with Gage but he never seems to want to talk about it or admit to it, so she feels a wee bit cheap!
Gage remembers that night vividly but if he wants to keep his secrets he can't afford to let anyone in. But as they attempt to evade Alliance soldiers & cyborgs and help train a fledgling resistance type militia, Gage's secrets unravel and Laura is left reeling.
This is a very detail oriented, original and well written story. Highly engaging characters with a "real feel" to them. Loved it!
This picks up about the time Gage and Minerva get separated from Lara and Mac, so it's better to have written the first book. However you could read this one alone, you are just missing some background.
Gage is running from his past and has been for so long, but its about to catch up to him. Dr Minerva is no soldier but when things get rough she can handle herself. Gage was there when she needed him but things have been strained and the closer they get the closer his past comes to possibly ruin it all. There were a couple of shocks in this I wasn't expecting but totally loved. I can't wait to read the next one and see how things play out. I hope we get to see more of Ethan as well.
All three books have great storyline and mesh well together. Follow along as new and old friends fight to take over the corrupt government from two brothers.
The rebellion team gets separated as the World Alliance bombs their own people to make the rebellion look bad. After murdering millions with the release of the black flu – what’s a few more?
This story focuses on doctor Laura and sniper Gage. They’ve had one amazing night in the past, but he left in the middle of the night like she’d been a dirty secret, and neither of them had spoken of it since. Turns out Gage has a few secrets and some of them come back to bite the both of them. They are also the reason he did not continue their relationship. Now they must rely on each other to not only get back to their team, but to survive.
Original series, well written, and so suspenseful once you pick it up make sure you have time to finish because you will not be able to put it down!!!
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
That Gage has a past in no surprise... but what a surprise filled past!
This story overlaps ever so slightly with the end of the previous one in the series. That being said, I believe it will stand well on its own because carry over plot points and story elements are provided in a manner that does not assume you already know what is going on.
Recall continues the world building of the previous story, explores the events and people who shaped this world, and as we grow to better understand Gage's attitude in the previous story, we discover why he has trust issues, how life has hurt him... and why he so passionately fights in the rebellion.
I was gifted with a copy of this book, and I voluntarily chose to leave a review.
Wow, I am loving this series. This is not my typical type of read but I am really enjoying it. I liked book two even better that book one. I really love these character, Gage and Minerva. They have great chemistry. This book answers a lot of questions and goes more in depth of what is happening and more secrets are revealed. I'm looking forward to book three.
Second book in the cyborg series and I highly suggest reading in order. Two madmen are trying to take over the world and will kill anyone to do it, even family. But some of the cyborgs they created aren't under their control any longer and our helping instead to stop the killings. This story centers around Minerva, a human resistance fighter and Gage, a male that she now knows is a cyborg. The feelings they have will be put to the test and hopefully they can save the world at the same time.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
Why hadn’t she pursued anything with him? 5 GOLD HEARTS
It was possible, right? she shivered with anticipation. They were alone and safe, but who knew for how long? The last thing she wanted was to have regrets. WHOA! What a FAN-CYBORG-TABULOUS book!! I was riveted to my tablet, sunk deep into the story from beginning to end! I love that this book starts from the motel room before they were all separated (in Blackout book 1), but this time its Minerva & Gage that we are following. I firmly believe that you do need to read Blackout (book 1) first as this story continues to build off of it. I said Blackout was like a Terminator meets Star Wars: A New Hope blend, and this one is no different! Recall is the sequel just like T2 & Empire Strikes Back, but still completely all its own brilliant story!! This IS a book that takes place in the middle of a war, so you DEFINITELY need to expect the unexpected! I like that Bethany thinks outside the box, so to speak. The fact that the main characters are not who you think they are, nor does it seem fair what happens to them, certainly defies the “typical” romance-type storylines, but in this case it is EXACTLY what makes this book so fantastic and had me glued to my tablet from the beginning of book 1 straight through to the end of book 3! But just because this is a futuristic war and times are tough & bleak, don't EVER give up on Hope & an eventual Happy Ever After!! This IS a romance after all! wink As much as I LOVE all of the twists & turns, secrets and surprises, I thought they were going to do me in before I got to The End! I am BEYOND thankful I didn't start this series until now, because I can't handle the suspense, to see how it all plays out, and since Oblivion, book 3 and the final one of this series, releases today, I can read it all in one day! And I did! The Cyborg Chronicles has me simultaneously wishing it was shorter so I would know how it ends and cursing that it IS only a trilogy because I love, Love, LOVE IT THAT MUCH!!! It's filled with complex characters I instantly fell for & cared about, they constantly are in situations that have me holding my breath & white knuckling my tablet to the point I am fearing for its life, all while bringing me the romance I love and a story that is so creatively unique & unlike ANYTHING I have ever read before, in EVERY and ALL of the BEST ways possible!! With her phenomenal talent, Bethany has created one helluva captivating, nerve-wracking, pulse pounding, mind blowing, wholly original, can't-stop-reading-if-I-tried CYBORGTACULAR series!
