Rate this book
Max lives a comfortable life in Russia, surrounded by friends, family, and his beloved beagle Charlie. Just then, his father accepts a job offer in Alaska — and Max’s entire world flips upside down. Forced to leave his precious pup and his sweetheart Tanya behind, Max begrudgingly travels to the American tundra. In a foreign place, full of strange people, Max struggles to fit in, until a burgeoning new friendship leads to adventures he will never forget. Max learns to ride a Snowmobile, bathes in natural hot springs, and witnesses the astounding beauty of the Northern Lights. He begins to appreciate his new home, until a terrible accident strands him in a brutal snowstorm… for once, Max’s anxieties are well placed. Pushed to the brink by the Alaskan wilderness, Max discovers a new strength he never knew he had. Middle Grade — Humorous Adventures.

It's always good to have a great, hearty laugh and this is what I was doing throughout most of this book. Not only did I laugh, but on two occasions I had tears of joy in my eyes as a result of an adventure that could have turned out quite tragic, but thankfully was very successful.
Our friend Maxim goes to live in Alaska for a while with his family, makes a very good friend and finds himself in a 'hot water' situation in this book. The words rolled off the pages and held me spell-bound right to the very last page.
Max Candee, you are a magician with words and a teller of wonderful tales. I have really enjoyed this series and know that teenagers and adults can enjoy this book too.
This book was provided by the author at no cost and this is my unbiased review.
