Taking the essence of real incidents of the Paris bombings, author Jack O Daniel weaves a gripping suspense thriller. Imagine yourself on a vacation in the city of romance, lovey-dovey, and all of a sudden things start to fall apart. Our protagonists, FBI agents John and June are spending some quality time in Paris when they face a terror attack in their hotel. I enjoyed how they battled their way through the attack and amidst the struggle for survival, they started connecting with each other more. As they fight their way through the utter conundrum and strive to stay alive, they discover that a very important guest too is residing in the same hotel and is in danger.
I enjoyed how the author has built up the characters in the story. June's fiesty responses even in tough times add humor to the story. Other characters like Katrina and Lambert also add significance. As the story unfolds, it is a delight to read how the rescue operation is carried on. Despite being a very suspense drama, it also has instances of love and passion that adds flavor to the story. Overall, the first book of the series was a really fun read and looking forward to the next one.

Jack is one of the few authors I will drop everything for. This series starts with full of tension, passion and excitement and never disappoints the reader. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and even reading the last page it still left you with a feeling of satisfaction that you had read a real good story.

His books go from strength to strength getting better and better with more complicated plots that always leave me wanting more. His writing style is unlike any others I have encountered. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Highly recommended
