It's Mary O'Reilly's first Christmas in Freeport and she's stranded by a snowstorm, so she can't make it home to Chicago for the holidays. During the storm she learns the true meaning of Christmas with the help of her new friends, Stanley and Rosie.

By the end of 2012, “Loose Ends” had sold over 82,000 copies and, as of the writing of this bio, was the number one bestselling book in Amazon’s ranking of Ghost Stories in the Book/Literature & Fiction/Genre Fiction/Horror/Ghosts section and the number two in the same area in the Kindle eBooks section. She has eight other books in the Mary O’Reilly Series and has enjoyed Top Rated and Hot New Release status for many of them in the Women Sleuths category through Amazon US. She was also honored to have some of her works included in A. J. Abbiati’s book “The NORTAV Method for Writers—The Secrets to Constructing Prose Like the Pros.” She has also had the distinct privilege of guest blogging for Joe Konrath. Reid is from Northwest Illinois, near the town of Freeport, the home of her fictional characters. Her background is in marketing and public relations. She is married, the mother of seven children, and the grandmother of twenty-three. She has her grandchildren convinced that she talks to fairies and animals - and they talk back.
Mary has done it again. She helped Nick and the six little ones to the white light on Christmas Eve. Rosie and Stanley were so sweet with their sneaking around to bring Christmas to Mary since she couldn't go home.
It's nice to get an origin story for two of the main support characters of the book series! As always, the book is well written. I'd have given it five stars except for the strong religious overtones, which I always have difficulty with. But I enjoy the stories, so I keep coming back!
Mary O'Reilly due to the storm was not going to make it for Christmas at mom's home! Talking to her mom, made her fill sad as a blizzard fell down on Freeport Illinois. She made friends with her neighbor next to her Investigation Agency Shop, Stanley seventy years a widower. Rosie her Realitor that sold her, a small home. These s three Mary, Stanley and Rose are going to bring a Very Merry Christmas to Freeport this year!
Mary O'Reilly short story. Stranded in her new house over Christmas due to a storm, this story tells how Mary meets her two elderly friends who readers know quite well from the usual books. Lovely story, good plot and what I would call a typical charming Mary O'Reilly! Thank you to the author for this little gem.
Terri Reid wrote a lovely heartfelt ghostly Christmas story. Mary O'Reilly has a great Christmas experience with the help of her friends Stanley and Rosie.
In this prequel, it goes back to when Mary first met Stanley & Rosie. It was a lovely Christmas short story full of the Christmas spirit. A great way to start your festive season!
A really cute short story that makes you feel good
This was a great little tale of how believing in the spirit of christmas can make you open your heart and feel the true meaning of the holidays. I really enjoyed it and the way the author presented it to the reader.
Somehow missed this wonderful short story when Mary first met Stanley. Nice little mystery and a sweet conclusion. I own as many as Terri Reid's books as possible and will add this to my collection.
Quite a pleasant story I would say more of a young adult type, has had a free download of a couple of Terri Reid books and they are of a paranormal style.
I just love this series. Thank you so much for inviting us into Mary's life. Cannot wait for the next book. Miss all the other characters. Have a wonderful holiday⛄⛄⛄
I've read every one of your books and now I'm starting over. My wonderful husband died last November and the grief is still tearing me apart. Your books I know will help me block some of the pain and give a much needed comfort over the weeks ahead. I'm eagerly waiting for the new book and Mary's new baby! Thank you.
I enjoyed the story. It was heartwarming. My problem is the timeline. I hate going backwards. I would have rather read this early in the series. It is actually a prequel as was the Three Wise Guides. I like the filler short stories to progress the series, not give background. But that is just me.
