Sample from one of the stories ( Amor online ):

En esos momentos Avril “Qué bueno que no estoy estudiando Economía o Administración de Empresas”. La verdad es que odia los números y las finanzas. Por eso decidió estudiar algo social. No sabía bien qué. Finalmente terminó eligiendo Turismo. El turismo no es algo que la apasione, pero debía elegir algo. Sus padres le “O estudias en la Universidad o consigues un trabajo”.

I think it was a pretty good bargain to get these books in this bundle. The included stories are more novella length than novel length. As most will point out these are not written for native speakers but for those studying the language. That said, I can really see the difference in these stories written at the B1 level (low intermediate) compared to stories at the A1 or A2 level. I read one of Ardit's bundles at the A1 level and each chapter was two or three sentences long. Here a chapter is roughly a page o long. The vocabulary and language allow for a more developed story, more developed characters. Much more interesting.
Four stories. This was a big improvement over the A1 bundle and the A2 El Hacker story. Ardit is still barely adequate as a writer, but I was able to read these without resorting to a dictionary too often. As ever, okay for practicing Spanish at an intermediate level, but this isn't literature. (Duolingo thinks I'm a high B1 level.)
Comedia de locos - This was probably the most boring. Three friends want to put on a comedy show. But there's nothing funny about the story, it just tediously takes you through the process of coming up with ideas and getting backers.
El amor online - Avril has an online boyfriend. She lives in Canada and her boyfriend is in Colombia. She wants to meet him, but her parents refuse to pay. She fakes her kidnapping takes the ransom money and flies off. Even though I was horrified by her behavior she does eventually grow up. I kind of enjoyed this one.
Crimen en Barcelona - Felipe, el CEO de Alaires Airlines, is murdered. Two detectives and his son try to solve the murder. There's no real mystery, it's obvious who did it and why, but it's somewhat amusing.
Viaje al futuro - Seriously, if you are going to write a time travel story, it has to be believable. The idea that two high school students could do it was a huge turn off. They go to the future and discover a sort of utopia except no one has emotions any more. (Not at all clear how this was acomplished.) They teach one girl to start feeling and you get the distinct impression she will spread the sensations. Meanwhile this girl just happens to know someone (in Russia!) who can get them back home.
La última cena - Celia owns the best restaurant in Uraguay which is successful thanks to two excellent cooks. She is a horror taking credit for everything. One cook is an alcoholic the other just hapless. Eventually they take revenge on Celia. Many, many threads remain unresolved. I did not enjoy reading this at all as Celia is so awful.
Good book to get used to reading Spanish. New words/expressions without having to be all the time in the dictionary. Stories are simple of course but this looks normal to me. I’m looking forward to read level B2 as B1 went quite easily.
I thought these were great. The stories were entertaining and they each use a lot of repetitive words so by the end you hardly need to look up anything.
Enjoyed these books good stories easy to follow . I would recommend for intermediate readers ,well put together . I'm how-to buy more of his books good author.
