After the world ends, David believes the love of his life dead. But while hunting a vampire, he finds Blair. But Blair isn't human anymore, and David never was.
To love is to trust, and trusting your sworn enemy is easier said than done. Especially when something in the dark is hunting them both.
Tiffany Allee currently lives in Phoenix, AZ, by way of Chicago and Denver, and is happily married to a secret romantic. She spends her days working in Corporate America while daydreaming about sexy heroes, ass-kicking heroines, and interesting ways to kill people (for her books, of course). Her nights are reserved for writing and bothering her husband and cats (according to them). Her passions include reading, chocolate, travel, wine, and family.
Before the world went to hell, David and Blaire were college sweethearts. David was hiding as a human, ignoring his witch heritage and loving Blaire who never questioned him or made him feel bad. When the vamps came, Blaire survived the attack at her home. Her little sister was thralled by the beasts and opened the door for them. Blaire has been running from vampires and hunters. She ran to the one place she was happy, near the college. She could not shake the hunter, she guessed correctly that it was a witch and decided it was going to end now. The witch had a protection spell that took away her vamp speed and strength. The witch spoke, and she recognized the voice, it was David. David recognized Blaire and deactivated his charm, and picked her up and held her. They never fell out of love, but they are on opposite sides of this new hellish world. Will one of them kill the other, or will they make something out of what they have now?
I found a free copy on Amazon via BrazenBookShelf.com and then I received a copy from the author's newsletter Supernaturals battle after a change occurred (missing info here). Former lovers, now enemies, they fight a common enemy and restore faith that all will be well in their HFN.
The story line was different I mean it was definitely romance, I think that the author could have stretched it out a bit more without it being boring, but she didn't and that's okay it was short, her characters could use some work and her world building wasn't too bad. It was a good love story. I am very happy she didn't make her vampires sparkle.Overall nicely written needs a bit of work but the author did a decent job.
I loved this book. Who would think that a witch could trust a vampire let along fall in love with one. This is the story of David (witch) and Blaire (vampire). A love that started before the war and somehow managed to find its way again. This story just seems to start, I would definitely love to read more about Davi and Blaire.
