Fresh out of med school, Bear Shifter Tye expected to face adversity in joining a top hospital residency program. But feisty little Melanie might be more competition than he can handle, and a terrible rumor about his past catches up with him. Will there be a Shifter Christmas Miracle? This 20,000+ word story contains plenty of heat and a HEA.

3.5 stars. This was a really cute, Christmassy read. I liked how it wasn't the typical 'big bad shifter meets innocent girl and she immediately falls for him', it was about a clumsy yet strong guy who wears his heart on his sleeve meeting a career driven, fierce woman. I loved how the romance between Tye and Melanie was realistic. She didn't abandon her career goals just because Tye was her mate, she persevered on.
There were a fair few punctuation and grammar errors throughout the book which made it feel quite unpolished and unfinished to me. The lack of description and the short length of the book also made it feel quite 'insta-love', despite them knowing each other for months before dating/having sex/mating.
I did enjoy this quick, different shifter romance, but it wasn't a groundbreaking piece of literature or anything. A cute, cheesy, Christmassy read!
Read in the Happy Howling Holidays box set. Not keen on this shifter world, too bigoted and unhappy. I also found Melanie selfish and unlikeable. She is too busy trying to prove her a**hole of a father wrong that she treats Tye like dirt, blowing hot and cold. At the end we then have a miraculous change of heart from her father and all is forgiven. Bah Humbug. Tye deserved someone so much better and I hated that he gave up his internship but was glad he ended up happy working for a small family practise. Badly needed to be proof read for lots of silly mistakes that should not have made it through to a final edit.
This was an interesting introduction to Becca Fannings animal-shifter books. I liked that this story has substance. This is a world where humans and shifters live together; but, separated.... I also enjoyed the fact that the main male character Tye is a Kodiak bear shifter and he is studying to be a medical doctor in the the human world. There is a lot of wariness that humans have about being around/exposed to animal-shifters. When Tye literally runs into Melanie, he notices that she doesn't have an issue with shifters, per se. The only drawback that I had with this story were all the typos and misplaced/missing punctuation that at times pulled me out of the story.
Wonderful story of two shifters trying to make it in the human world, in medical school. Will they succeed as they test the waters of a new relationship? This book can be found in the boxed set " Happy Howling Holidays" and alone. Either way you will love it.
Really cute, Christmassy read. I liked how it wasn't the typical 'big bad shifter meets innocent girl and she immediately falls for him'. Read this in my purchased Happy Howling Holidays boxset
Bearly Christmas Becca Fanning. 3 out of 5 stars. Tye and Melanie first bump into each other in the cafe, when he knocks her across the room. They meet again at the hospital where he then trips over a chair just before they both find out they've been accepted as interns. When he takes her for coffee afterward to apologise for that morning, she runs straight into his thick muscular chest when she turns around to say goodbye. So he's a little clumsy! What's wrong with that? But when they find they are mates, she denies it, and him. She doesn't want to be like her mother, stuck at home all the time, cooking, cleaning and being the little woman. She's got hers sights set on being a doctor. So, can they sort this out between them or is that the end of their courtship or the loss of a true love bond? I recommend this book to others interested in fantasy, paranormal, and shifters.
Really good mix of bear shifter story and medical school is hard as hell stiry. Tye and Melanie have a rocky start and it doesn't get any easier as Melanie is bound and determined to make her father accept and love her for being a doctor, even if that means leaving Tye . Instead Tye leaves and goes back to shifter town and things get really hard for them both. This would have been a perfect story except for several editorial problems, that made me have to go back and read the passage again, but the story itself makes up for those dew glitches !! 4⭐'s . I recieved a gifted copy and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.
BEARLY CHRISTMAS is listed as a stand-alone, holiday, paranormal romance, but the ending screams for a follow-up story featuring Tye’s brother, Jake, and his mate.
Sometimes you just need a little Christmas, and I’ve been feeling it this week. So, I hope you’ll excuse the odd-timing of these reviews. On the other hand, maybe you too are needing a little hope in a world that seems to have gone mad.
Tye and Melanie provided a little hope. They are young and have just finished medical school. They are ready for residency and they both want to prove they have what it takes. Melanie is trying to prove herself to her father, who would have rather had a son and Tye is trying to prove himself to the world just because he is a shifter.
I love the microscope placed on the treatment of the shifters as secondary citizens – prejudices are one constant in our world. I also love when the reason for the prejudice becomes a “so what.” So what if he is ____ (black, gay,…, a shifter). In the end, all that matters is love. The love of a mate, a brother, your neighbor, and your fellow man. That is the true meaning of a Christmas romance.
Now as for that ending, it suggests that this was going to be a series, but it has been two years. Has Jake found her?
Note: while I was given this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

I always enjoy Becca's bear shifter books. They are great and this one is also. Tye and Melanie are both competing for top spot in their doctor internship. Tye is a bear shifter and Melanie knows this and is not afraid of him as a bear. But she is afraid of the feelings he compels in her as she wants to win the top spot and make her overbearing father proud of her. The intern trainees are allowed some time off for Thanksgiving and Melanie's father has invited his friend and his son to join them because he wants Melanie to forget being a doctor and settle down and produce grandchildren for him. So Melanie rebels and invites Tye to come over. He arrives and he and Melanie are in the kitchen when her father's friend and his son Ethan arrive. Tye asks Melanie why she said she did not know any shifters when Ethan is one. But Melanie is shocked to hear this. Tye and Ethan are busy trying to outstare each other and Tye tells Ethan that Melanie is his Mate. Melanie is angered by this comment as she does not like that word. And thinks to herself "He might as well just hike his leg and pee on her". I got a good chuckle out of that. Tye is upset when he finds out why Melanie invited him over, so he quits the internship program and goes back to his Shiftertown. But Melanie misses him terribly and finally realizes that she will never satisfy her father; so she goes to see Tye at Christmas. She stays with him as his Mate and they open a practice together; with Melanie seeing human patients and Tye working with shifter healers to learn about helping shifter patients. I was given an advanced copy of this book and am freely and voluntarily writing this review.
Melanie has always dreamed about following in her dad's footsteps and becoming a doctor. Even if her dad isn't supportive and always putting her down. She still works hard for what she wants and doesn't let anyone distract her. Well almost... Tye is a Bear shifter living in the human world to become a doctor. Putting up with prejudice he works hard and goes home to release the Bear. Focused until a certain human brings out the clumsy in him. Oh Tye. You are so hot. I feel very protective over him with what he has had to endure from humans to get to his place now. When he bumps in to Melanie ( literally) things change. I love how she just give him crap but sees the real him and doesn't judge. But I don't like that she has walls up and tries to push him away. These two have both had issues with people in the past. Prejudice and disappointment. Mix some holidays, family and other shifters in the mix. These two are cute and face the truth.

4.5 stars This was an excellent contemporary shifter romance. Each of the main characters Tye and Melanie had the drive to become doctors. Tye is a Kodiak near shifter trying to help both shifters and humans. He has a difficult time staying in his human form as much as he has to throughout medical school. Melanie is smart, driven and trying to show her father (who is a doctor) that just because she's a woman it doesn't mean she can't be a doctor. Her father pushed her to give up med school. The and she connect but med school comes first. I enjoy the way Ms. Fanning developed her vs so that in each new section we learn more about them. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author.
Tye is an odd bear shifter. He went through college and medical school when most shifters stayed in their shifter town, separate from humans. He faced down prejudice and fear to do what he wanted. He runs into Melanie at a coffee shop, literally. Both are on their way to the hospital to find out if they will be accepted as interns. His bear knows she is his mate, but he does not know how this fiery human even feels about shifters. Melanie has a plan and she will not deviate. She will be a doctor and has no time for a love interest.

A great romantic shifter story. Read in about an hour. Perfect length for the story and it leads to the beginning of a new series. The main shifter is a bear, but there are other types of shifters in the story. Shifters normally live apart from humans. Humans know about them, but treat them as second class citizens. So when one decides to become a doctor everyone is surprised. The story leads to a meeting of a young woman that starts their relationship off with a crash. But who knows where it will go.

Another great Bear shifter book by Becca Fanning, as usual it is enjoyable with a touch of humor and a sweet romance. Tye is a huge clumsy bear shifter fresh out of med school. Melanie is a petite human, who gets knocked off her feet by the huge Tye. She may be small but she's certainly not timid and literally has a go at him leaving him covered in coffee, which is unfortunate as Tye is definitely attracted to her and they they get paired up to complete an assignment. I won't tell you any more as I hate when reviewers spoil the book for other readers.
This is the story of Tye and Melanie. He is a shifter trying to fit in to the human world. She is a human trying to win her fathers approval. They are both up for an internship with the hospital. Which one will get it or will they both? Will they be able to fight there attraction to each other? Will she change her priorities? What will happen next?
I voluntarily read this advanced copy of this story. I love how the author can pack a whole novel into a shorter read. This story is perfect for a lunch hour read. I couldn’t put the book down once I started it. I just hope that there will more stories in this series as I would be interested in reading them.
Tye is a Kodiak Bear Shifter who is going to medical school where he meets Melanie also a med student is smart & very driven who's father is also a doctor & wants his daughter to marry more than he cares if she becomes a doctor. A short shifter romance story that is action packed & a quick fun read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reading copy of this book.
Another fun bear shifter story from Becca Fanning! Tye and Melanie are great for each other and romance with a bit of humor is the best. Tye is a big man who's a bit nervous and clumsy around humans and Melanie is super focused and doesn't think she has time for romance. This is fun, quick read with an HEA and minimal conflict.
Tye and Melanie, both interns at the same hospital, meet when Tye literally bumps into her at a coffee shop. Although fiercely independent, Melanie eventually realises that Tye, a bear shifter, is her true life partner. (I voluntarily reviewed this free ebook.)
Tye is an odd type of shifter. Shifters usually stay with their own. Tye wants more though. This book really makes you think that maybe we need to question the status quo though. There is a question whether or not there would be a happy ending but there is one in the end.
Kindle Unlimited, bio says enjoys writing 'smut', this was not smut, it was trash; no real plot, no character development, cardboard characters, fill in the blank {bad} stories, 70's porn music in the background fighting with wannabe 50 shades of grey and twilight nonsense. 'Romance' is not graphic sexual situations, and especially not those that are as graphically detailed out, for lack of anything actual worthwhile to put in to the 'story'. For actual writers usually list other books; for this type just name 'writer' Becca Fanning not bloody likely, will take the time to rate all the trash out though.
I really enjoyed this book. It was one of those you just need to read one more story before you stop. One more, one more, darn, I have to get up in an hour type of set. Lock your doors and turn off your phone. You will not want to be disturbed.
