I got this book to read about basic crochet stitches. Loved the section on increases and decreases. Have been having trouble understanding how to do increases and decreases and this book really explained it well. A really informative and interesting book. Highly recommend this book.

I have reviewed many crochet and knitting books and am always disappointed. Invariably none of them would be able to teach a novice. This book started out so promising. The author did a wonderful job at the beginning, describing the hooks, yarn, and other tools needed to crochet. The problem began when she actually starting teaching how to crochet. The diagrams and pictures were worthless. Instead of showing the steps on how to do each stitch, she just showed the end result. A beginner crocheter would have it easier if they just went to one of the big box craft stores and bought any crochet pattern book.. They always show exactly how to start, and how to do each stitch. Forget this useless book.
