Good book!!

I loved all of the characters in this book/series!! Echo Rose/Kelly has a way of finding a mystery and digging in until she finds out the truth. She is an investigative reporter. She gets herself in some tight spots and helps out the law with their cases that ties in with what she is working on. It is a good suspense. Doesn't get boring.

The Rose Boxset by Thomas Fincham

I read this set of books out of sequence, but it didn't matter.

It is, I believe, a particular skill for a writer to pen 2 or more novels as a set and have them operate as stand alone stories as well. Mr Fincham has managed that with the Echo Rose Books. I love them all.

Rose was a secondary character in a series of books about a reporter who kept getting involved in solving mysteries and he found himself in a number of very interesting situations. Rose was usually part of these adventures.
As a spin-off from this Hyder Ali series I think the Echo Rose books worked.
It is a bit like a biological cloning operation. Pick-up a piece of DNA from one entity and develop a brand new organism. It was a neat trick.
There are enough links back to the reporter series, for those who had read them, to see how the characters had come together initially, and how they had developed.
At the same time the three books in this series were separate but also part of one bigger story.
Character driven rather than relying on highly convoluted and involved plots, these books were quite simple and on some levels a little too uncomplicated, or unsophisticated but, for me at least, there was enough to keep me turning the pages. What more could an author want.
Good work.
