Interview with the Author

Why did you write this book?

I run Jade Mountain Martial Arts in Katy, Texas. Over the years, I’ve met hundreds of people who wanted to get in shape but were nervous about getting started. Many of them had tried several times to work out at home before mustering the courage to come to my school and try our classes. After talking to so many of them, I decided to write this book to help them, and to give my students a reference for some effective, simple workouts.

Do I need to buy a lot of equipment for the workouts?

The good news is that all you really need for these workouts is a set of workout clothes and athletic shoes. Oh, and probably a towel to take care of all that sweat!

I’m reeeeally out of shape. Can I still do the workouts in this book?

It’s important to check with your doctor before starting any workout program. That said, all of the workouts can be modified and taken at your own pace. You don’t have to be an Olympian, just do what you can. Have some fun with it, and you’ll be on your way to being healthier and stronger!

Short Workouts for Beginners: Get Healthier and Stronger at Home (Jade Mountain Workout Series Book 1) by Whit McClendon

Ok, I've read it, bookmarked my favorite parts, practiced and prepared. Let's do this. I've set a reminder to check back in 30 days to update results.

This book itself is basically written, easy to understand, and has adjustments for possible difficulties. It also includes links to video's and contact information for the author. A great overall plan.
