But the wisdom you gain in these ten minutes is immense.
The book narrates the parables from Hindu Mythology and how they completely relate to today's corporate world. The author brilliantly tells the story from mythology and backups up with a similar story from current era.
The book seems to be an excerpt of the larger version of "Business Sutra". Breaking down a large book and retelling it in parts is also a good idea for non-readers !!!
Simple read the author tries to connect the stories of the Mahabharata with current management thought like brand management and the challenge of intangibles when seen from Mahabharata perspective or the seating arrangement for Hanuman in Ravana's court and what is speaks of human mindset.
Premise and the background of the book has immense scope considering the knowledge and the capability of the author however the book is too short to make a lasting impact.
Four stars because it made me ponder. Reading this made me think hard about somethings I've done or experienced as part of my work life. For such a teensy volume it makes one stop and evaluate stuff in their lives. And given the read time and price this should be a must read and that's a no brainer.
Very simple yet deep. Quick read. Leaves you wondering. Quite impressive. Actually it's very very short. I would have loved some more content. This book is best read and then chewed slowly and let imagination take over. Keep up the great work Devdutt Pattnaik.
