EVERY LITTLE THING is the first book in the Butler, Vermont series, but it’s just a continuation of the Green Mountain series. It picks up exactly where we left off at the end of AIN’T SHE SWEET, Charley and Tyler’s story. Which is amazing by the way! Beautiful, heartwarming reads that can easily be read as a standalones or as part of the series!
The book starts out with a prologue, taken from the end of AIN’T SHE SWEET so readers can transition between books/series with ease. Grayson is our hero and he is the oldest cousin to the Abbott siblings. He’s a successful lawyer who’s burned out from working in the big city and has come back home to Butler to set up his own practice.
While home, he meets Emma Mulvaney—sister to Lucy who’s engaged to Grayson’s cousin Colton Abbott—and Emma’s daughter Simone. Grayson is immediately enchanted by Simone and her very lovely mother. He’s not looking for a relationship, but can’t seem to stop thinking about or being around Emma. Don’t worry, Grayson is not a weird creeper. He grew up helping raise his siblings and likes kids. Just wanted to point that out :)
Emma has a lot on her plate: full-time job, full-time daughter, zero time for romance. She and Simone are spending time in Butler, having been invited to the wedding of the eldest Abbott sibling, Hunter (yeah, there are a lot of ‘em!). And getting much-needed sister time with Lucy. She wasn’t expecting to fall hard and fast for Grayson Coleman.
EVERY LITTLE THING is a genuine contemporary romance. It’s a story where the impossible can become possible with dedication, work, sacrifice and love. It’ll leave you feeling all warm and mushy inside, and possibly reaching for the tissues!
On a personal note: Every time I read one of these books, it’s like I’m coming home again. The characters and the entire fictional town of Butler, Vermont are family and I love catching up with them and I kinda feel like I’m involved in their lives when I read one of their books. It may sound a little silly I know, but when I’m down and I can’t seem to muster up a smile, I know I can escape for a few hours into Butler and find my happy place again.
