Arianna always felt like she didn’t belong in the world where she was born. Ever since she was little, she used to hide behind the rocks in the sea, and watch the human family who spent their summers on that island. Over the years, there was nothing she wished more than to be like them, especially so she could get close to Blake, the human boy who she saw turn into a troubled teenager and then, an unhappy man.
Once her dad grew tired of her dreams and hopes for a reality that is not her own, Arianna is thrown into an arranged marriage, and her only way out of it is to make a deal with the power-hungry man who will give her everything that she has ever dreamed of. Dreams that turn into nightmares as she watches Blake’s world fall apart, because of her and Blake’s inability to control their desires for one another.
Due to sexual content and language, this book is recommended for 17+

Um. This being the second book with Mermaids and/or Mermen that I didn't love, perhaps it's just not for me. Or perhaps I didn't read the right book just yet! Insatiable was a quick read with juvenile writing. I'm not saying this to be mean but this just wasn't very good.
Arianna is in love with a human who is actually involved with a girlfriend and later on with a fiancée he doesn't really care about. Arianna is jealous of her and wishes to have legs especially when her father tells her she's about to marry a Merman she doesn't love. Somehow, the human's brother practices dark magic and gives her legs one day in order to fulfill his plan or whatever. I didn't really understand his motivations. Anyway, she ends up sleeping with Blake when he's still in a relationship... He's a cheater just like his father and also a drinker because he can't seem to do anything but follow his father's wishes. Everything moved quickly and overall, I didn't care for the characters. I'm not interested in reading the second book.
Arianna would do just about anything to have legs and be a part of the human boy's world. Many times she comes to the surface just to catch a glimpse of him and his family. But Arianna must give it all up and marry one of her own. No longer able to ignore her duties, she is forced to marry Bram and live happily ever after.
As if! Arianna already knows that her heart belongs to a boy she has never even spoken to. And when given the opportunity to walk the earth and be with him, Arianna takes it…no matter the consequences.
So thankful and excited for the opportunity to read a book by Danielle Lanzarotta. I have yet to read her other works, but I know she has lots of fans. And after reading INSATIABLE: A MERMAID’S CURSE I can see why. I quickly devoured it and was pleased with the whole story line. Think of it as a modern day THE LITTLE MERMAID with a NEW ADULT kick to it.
The characters were edgy and interesting and I just loved them. Especially Owen. Yes I realize I may be a minority here liking him but there was something about him. I think with the next book we will get a better look at him and all those secrets he seems to be hiding. I wanted to hate him in the beginning but there was no way I could. In the end, I started believing there was more to him than being evil.
Arianna was another great character. I really liked her from the very get go. She is so sweet and seeing her follow her heart to go after something she wanted was cake! Without thinking twice about the consequences she knew she had to take a risk to see if she could be with Blake. Or she may live the rest of her life regretting taking the risk. Only thing is I wish we could have gotten more time with her below the sea at the start. But I think with how things ended, we are not done with that world just yet.
Perfectly paced story, intriguing characters, and intense scenes had me flying through this book and eager for book 2. Now I need to do some serious catching up with Lanzorotta’s other books. Please check out INSATIABLE: A MERMAID’S CURSE as soon as it is available.
I do really like mermaid-Romance books. But this fell hard after a while, espesially because of the male main character. I disliked him - he was engaged and involved with Arianna. Then she treated her terrible, and Brooke? It was sad how he strung her along. And i hated the sentence "She looked puzzled" because that happend ALL THE TIME. I didn`t really care for Arianna either, sadly. The person i found interesting was Owen: He seemed complicated and interesting. But that is how it is, one likes one book and another not.
Mermaid watches humans. Father wants her married. Mermaid marries but finds Ursula-type person that changes her fins to legs.
Sounds a bit like The Little Mermaid, right?
I tried to read this story but Arianna's attitude and character really annoyed the hell out of me. There were times I just wanted to pull her out of the book and just slap the hell out of her. She whined too much and her "woe-is-me" made me go no further than the third chapter.
I might try later on to re-read this book but for now, I have tossed it in the "didn't finish" category.
What an intriguing beginning to a wonderful and captivating new series by Daniele Lanzarotta! I was hooked from page 1 and simply couldn't put it down! The original storyline will keep you guessing and mesmerized page by page and sentence by sentence. I can't wait to find out what happens next in this series!
I feel like this took me forever to finish. I liked it though because it was a different take on the mermaid story. AND the ending!! What a really great cliffhanger. Definitely makes me want to read the next book.
Daniele has crossed over into adult paranormal from YA paranormal flawlessly with her first book in her A Mermaid’s Curse trilogy.
Arianna is a mermaid who has always felt like she didn’t belong in her world. She longs to be human and to be with the human boy Blake she has watched all her life. She has watched him turn into an unhappy man and wants nothing more then to make him happy and see his smile. Blake is stuck with a life he doesn’t want. Controlled by his dad in every aspect even down to marrying a woman he doesn’t love. One day Arianna’s world is turned upside down by her dad. She is forced to marry a merman she doesn’t love. So she flees and goes to the surface and meets Owen a power hungry man with an agenda all his own. He makes Arianna’s dream come true but she is not sure it’s worth seeing the damage it does to Blake.
I loved the three main characters so much for different reasons. We see so much growth from each of them. Arianna is a heroine you just fall in love with from page one and you want her to have her dreams come true. Blake annoyed me at first with his going back and fourth and hurting Arianna but when it really mattered he came through for her and was the man of her fairy tale she had always hoped for and knew he could be. Owen really surprised me as the story went on. I thought he was a bad guy but things came to light that had me wanting him to get everything he wanted.
If you have read any of Daniele’s books before then you know she is the queen of cliff hangers and this book is no different. When I got to the last page she had me shouting NO! and wanting to throw my kindle across the room. I am so impatiently waiting for book two to see what is going to happen with all three characters. 5/5 Bloody Fangs
I'M IN LOVE!! I FREAKING LOVED THIS STORY!! HOW REFRESHING!!
Arianna is a mermaid who has always felt out of place in her world. She longs to walk among the human race and grow close to the human, Blake, she has watched every summer BUT sadly fate has its own plans for her.
Forced to marry one of her own kind, Arianna flees and stumbles upon a power driven man named Owen who has an agenda of his own.
Now caught in a forbidden case of love, Ariana must now face choice of choosing between what she wants and possibly losing everything she's ever known... ...........................
"Insatitable" is one of the best mermaid tales I have ever read. Arianna's character is so pure and likable that you can't help but root for her. Blake, on the other hand, annoyed me at first but I grew to love him as time went on. And lastly, Owen. Owen I misjudged at first as the "bad guy" but there's so much more him than just that. At times I found myself favoring Owen over Blake but for those of you who haven't read "Insatiable" yet will have to pick up this book to see what happens. And keep in mind that this is just the first in it's series. We'll have to see how things pan out for the characters still in the follow up sequel[s]...
Danielle has done it again with this beautiful mermaid story. I fell in love with the whole book from beginning to end, it was romantic and full of suspense, and I never knew what was going to happen next. There were a few twists that I was not expecting especially the ending of the book, I don't want to give it away but let's just say the Queen of cliffhangers has done it again and in a big way!
I loved all 3 of the main characters but the one I really liked the most is Arianna, who gives up her world and family for the chance of finding love, and not just any love her soul mate. She has courage and strength to be able to take on the unknown and she faces some huge challenge’s to be able to stay with the one she loves, but in the end after everything she sacrificed even making a deal with a power hungry person, she may lose what she loves most.
I can't wait to read the next book! I haven't been looking forward to a mermaid book like this in a long time.
I was very intrigued with this book just by the cover. I love mermaid stories and can never find enough of them. This book did NOT disappoint! I was emotionally attached to Arianna from the start and felt like I was going through everything right alongside her. The author has a really good writing style that is easy to follow which made the book even harder to put down. This book really makes a person think about their own issues and reminded me of what is really important in my own life. This is for sure a 5 star book but I took away half a star because I wanted to scream with where it leaves off and if book 2 were already out I would have gone straight to the store to buy it! I guess I will just have to wait very impatiently like the rest of the world!
This book has been read and Reviewed by Kerry Erickson and posted with consent on Ravenz Reviews. The opinions are my own and do not reflect on Ravenz Reviews in any way.
I'm not going to write another synopsis, just my views. First, I must say I wasn't sure about the mermaid thing....but hey, I write about werewolves and they aren't my thing either. Well slap me silly, what a fun read. Mermaid loves human, who is engaged (or almost) to another human...to a sinister brother, a horrible man, a lovely child and pissed off ocean. My kind of angst, romance, imagination, and rainy afternoon read. It didn't rain for me, but rain would have made the mermaid thing that much better. Although the book is NA, I would be comfortable with 14+ to read. Just the right amount of love and dammit that cliff hanger! Oh my!
For people that don't have an imagination and believe in love or paranormal tales (tails) of mermaids, you might want to steer clear.
I received an ARC of this book by the author in trade for an honest review.
A Mermaid's Curse is a wonderful love story about forbidden romance, finding where you belong, and taking chances. Arianna's internal struggle is so vivid you'll feel it, and the external forces driving her and Blake apart will pull at your heart. Blake's issues are as intense as his passion, but the love scenes are tasteful and nothing close to overdone.
The ending kind of threw me for a loop, and left me a bit wanting, but it certainly made me want to read the next one! When's it coming, Daniele?!?!?! Let me know so I can ORDER IT!
And of course, Bram is HOTTTT. Even if he's not the most lovable guy in the book. The whole cast of characters is freaking excellent, including those who get in the way of Arianna and Blake.

A fairy tale romance meets the real world and a forbidden love is created! Daniele has out done herself this time. I adored her angels, I couldn't get enough of her vampires, and her mermaids pulled me under from page one and wouldn't let me up! Insatiable is a fitting title because I just can't get enough of these characters. I need to know what happens, and once again Daniele has left us with a major cliff hanger!
At first I wasn't on team Blake, his character was so passive - but in the end he and Owen both won me over. I'm excited to see what happens in the next book! This is a definite must read!
This was a great read, I've never read a mermaid story before, but Daniele has made me a fan. I like her character's and the world she's created around them. I can say that I am not a fan of cliffhangers, but I will continue to read more in this series no matter how much it pains me!
I really don't know where to start this story has a little bit of everything in it. It was like I was on a roller coaster and I never wanted it to end. You can't help but to fall in love with Arianna and Blake's story!!
Loved it! Love, lust, and Mermaids all in one great book. Wonderful characters and a cliffhanger or three. Can't wait to see what happens to Arianna, Blake, and Owen.
This is my first mermaid story, it was recommended by a friend. So I decided to take a chance because I usually don't go for mermaid stories . Well I am glad I did. This was a very fast read for me . I started in the afternoon and was done by the time it was bed time. Arianna is a mermaid that so wants to be on the land with legs and to fall in love with the object of her desire Blake. She has wanted him since she was young , she watched him grow up and her love grew with it . But alas she has problems of her own. They are thrown together and the world falls apart around them because they can't keep their hands off of each other.
Lets just say there is so much going on in this book , you will not be disappointed. We have arranged marriage under the sea, a human almost engaged to another human. There is magic and evil. There is romance and angst of young love and the burden of family. Doing what is expected of your family instead of doing what is in your heart. It reads like a cross between the little mermaid and Romeo and Juliet . There are times that you will be laughing and other times going what the hell just happened and why did they have to go through that. Oh yeah don't forget the ocean, and it figures into the story also.
The characters are well written and honestly you want to give Arianna a good shake every now and then and say Girl you will get through this and quit being a pushover. Blake is a very broken man he has had so man bad things happen to him through his life . You just really want to hug him or shake him hard every now and then. I mean he bounced back and forth so much. One minute he was loving Arianna and the hurting her. I really just kind a wanted to slap him , but he finally realized and grew up in my opinion and realized that Arianna was the one there for him day in and out . That he wanted to be the hero in her fairy tale. The character that surprised me the most was Owen. He was totally a bad boy, and party boy. He even did the nurse in Blake's hospital bed while Blake and Arianna were at physical therapy. Which only a bad boy would do. As you read this book you each character grow and when things come to light towards the end of the book . You will finally understand why Blake and Owen acted the way they did. Especially Owen.
The author took me on a roller coaster ride with lots of twists and turns. But I will warn you though there is a big cliff hanger at the end of this book. I was frustrated cause I really want to know what the heck will happen and will they actually get their happily ever after. This book is a great afternoon read . So grab a cup of tea a snack and a cozy blanket . Settle down and be prepared to swim with the fishes . Ok I know that was bad but hey had to throw it in there. If you like mermaids with a twist . Check it out
Arianna is a mermaid in love with a human, she has been watching him since childhood. Her father forces her to marry a man she does not love. After saying her vows, she swims to the surface and meets Owen, her beloved's brother, who turns her into a human for a mysterious price. Blake is also being forced, by his father, to marry a woman he does not love. So at the onset of their relationship, both Arianna and Blake are promised to others, but they still sleep together and become involved. Everything moved so fast, Blake just met Arianna and they sleep together. Arianna is too whiny, crying all the time. She sits at his house waiting for him to make decisions about their relationship. Blake is a pushover, bending to family pressure. Then he starts drinking to forget Arianna and because he can't stand up to his father. His father is a cheater and he is following in his hated footsteps. Brooke, Blake's fiancé, is a token spoiled, mean girlfriend. Only interesting character was Owen. He's human but uses black magic, very vague about his motivation for helping Arianna. I couldn't tell if he was a good guy or the bad guy. Overall, the characters annoyed me and the ending hinted at a continuing story but I'm not interested.
This book blew me away and left me speechless. I am still in disbelief to what a creative unique, yet sexy and intoxicating story this was!
Arianna was a mermaid who spent the better part of her life wishing she had legs and a certain someone named Blake. Her father was not happy about her pining over a human, so he decided it was time to marry her off to a man named Bram. After the wedding she decided to leave and find her happiness. There she met a mysterious stranger that made all of her wishes come true. Little did she know along with happiness, came hurt and heartbreak.
Obviously Blake and Arianna were the main characters... But the other characters had strong personalities too, which I loved! Blake's mom was sweet, Molly was adorable, Owen was unpredictable, Brooke was jealous, and ugh Blake's dad- can you say jerk?!
I cannot praise this Author enough! It was mystery, romance, suspense, struggles, and family drama all wrapped into one fab book! From the beginning the love story grabs you and doesn't let go. The sex scenes are hot and the emotional scenes are intense.
The story had enough twists to make you interested and the ending definitely leaves you craving book 2!
I can't wait to see where the Author takes the story next!

I was given the book for free in exchange for an honest review.
I have to say that this ultimately one of the best mermaid books I have read. I love mermaids but coming in contact with a great story is very hard. Daniele did an excellent job of making the characters stand out well.
The love story is perfectly done. It was hard to contain how much Blake and Arianna felt between each other. At the same time, the other characters that affect their relationship is a lot for one relationship to go through. It makes the love story just that much better with the problems they face.
Fathers on each side hate the idea of these two needing each other. But, Blake's mom knows what is the way to go. I thought I was going to hate Owen for his role in all of this but I turned out to like him. He isnt all bad guy, there is some good whether he wants to accept it or not.
I am looking forward to book two! I cant wait to see whats going on with Arianna and how Blake is going to be until he finds her. Daniele, you did an amazing job.
Arianna is a mermaid who is the next in line to rule. She has never felt she belonged and she loved to go the island where she noticed a boy named Blake. She has always wanted to know what made him have the look in his eyes. She knew that he had a lot on her shoulders. When she is approached one day to have one of her dreams come true, she takes it.
She never knew given in to the guy she loved would cause so many problems. She knows that there is more going on then anyone is telling her. When she thinks her life is finally safe from her mermaid family she takes a chance to be on the water again. If only she could've seen the future.
I feel in love with this book and couldn't put it down. Arianna and Blake were meant to be together but it seems that other's don't want it to happen. I love this series.
I won Insatiable: A Mermaid's Curse (audible version) in a giveaway on Facebook. I normally do not like audio books because I generally don't like to be read to. However, I was immediately taken in with the premise of the story so I gave it a try. A Mermaid's Curse was spectacular "read". It was an amazing take on a fairy tale. This story sucked me in from the very beginning and didn't let go. I definitely recommend this book for anyone that enjoys a love story, magic and fairy tales. But be warned, because I wasn't, this is not a full novel and the ending will leave you speechless and immediately picking up the 2nd part to the series, Fated. Happy Reading!!
Well, nothing like being left hanging lol. Good story. Kinda had the feeling good ole dad was behind Owens "deal" My only issue is that I feel things went a little to fast between Blake and Arianna. Like there should have been more time to get to know one another, before the "I love you's" started flying. No disrespect to the author. I love your books Daniele. Other than that. The whole concept is pretty cool. Certainly has a "little mermaid" ring to it. Can't wait for Fated!
I think Daniele did a wonderful job creating a vivid picture so that the reader could feel for each of the characters in some way. I think Owen is intriguing and can't wait to see what happens in Fated, book 2. Quick read - I like books that start and have a fast enough pace that keep you moving through it until you realize you are at the end. Daniele accomplished this. Great job!
