Jane applies to be a housemaid for Sheikh Asaad to finance her master’s degree at a prestigious university. She’s convinced that she messed up her interview when it ends in a heated argument, but the young sheikh unexpectedly hires her anyway. Despite numerous cultural clashes, they soon become something more than just employee and employer. After Sheikh Asaad learns that Jane is not only an interesting woman but also a talented engineer, he engages her to work in his oil business. As their relationship progresses, Jane learns that Sheikh Asaad is betrothed to the princess of his rich Arabic country and Sheikh Asaad learns that the CEO of his partner company has fallen for Jane and will do anything to get her to work for him. Until he met Jane, the sheikh never objected to the idea of an arranged marriage. Now he must choose to either marry the princess or to fight for Jane.
If English is not the writers first language, this story could be not quite as bad as I first thought it to be. Looking at it in that light, it's not horrid, just very funny. She has the characters 'crossing their eyebrows' with hilarious frequency. She says 'helmets', when she clearly means 'hard hats.' Describes her friends curves as 'delicious'. Says things like, 'I must be the first MEN you have ever kissed.' Fadi ALWAYS 'looks at Jane, with amusement'. Jane much too frequently, 'wishes the floor would open up and swallow her'. Then, we have the funny, but numerous, what I am assuming, are typos. Things like, 'He held her close to her...' The conversations, both from Fadi, and Jane are stilted and formal. Fadi is from another country, so we expect that from him. Jane, is from Boston. All in all, it is still not funny enough (even with the typos and incorrect language usage), for a comedy. On a romance scale of one to ten, it's a zero. My best advice, would have to be, just give this one a pass.
3.5 is my real rating on this book. It is a fun little read and would be great for vacation or travel. I had a hard time connecting to the characters and there was not much unexpected in it, but I appreciate the authors effort and will be reading some more of her books.
This was a winner. She writes great storylines and has great characters in her books. Wonderful love stories in her books. I highly recommend all her books to everyone who loves Sheikhs and love stories. Diana Romano
I purchased this book for free but had to stop reading it. The writing was so awkward. The main character is working towards her Masters and speaks like a 6 yr old. I couldn’t put this book down fast enough.
Skimmed most of it. So robotic. Characters were boring and didn’t care about any of them. Felt like I was reading a computer generated attempt to write a book. Skipped to the end and it was still stupid. Skip this nightmare of gibberish
Loved, loved, loved!!! Captured me right off to the very end. A smart, sassy beautiful woman meets a billionaire sheikh and immediately intrigues him and captures his heart.... awesome story!!!
Jane is your typical all-American girl, looking for a job. Fadi is a Sheik looking for a maid, and he is used to getting his own way, until he meets someone who speaks her mind. The author paints a vivid picture of a culture clash and two people overcoming their personal issues to see the other clearly. The book was a simple, clean romance that was easy to read.
I was compelled to write this review after seeing it received only 2.95 stars. I feel this is an injustice to the book. It deserves at least a 3.5 . It is a sweet sailing book with clean romance. The author has a lot of potential in this genre.
This was not the author's best, but I enjoyed the story. My favorite thing about this author is that the books don't have sex scenes in them and the stories are fun. Enjoy!
