Some gifts can’t be wrapped. On Christmas Eve, Jonas Montague, father of the half-blood Gargoyles, is surrounded by his family, but not all of them. Instead of telling a traditional holiday tale, he shares the story of meeting his mate, Caroline, and the years that followed. Why was Jonas ostracized? Where are his older children? Why did he clone his great-niece, an act that caused the near-apocalypse? And what’s a holiday without a miracle? Jonas is a Stone Society companion novella set ten years in the future. It is told from Jonas’s point of view and from that of Tessa’s twins, Anthony and Tabitha (in both 1st and 3rd person). The story contains minor spoilers for future Stone Society books.
Faith Gibson's love of books started early on. So much so that she decided to write her own stories. When a college professor told her she had a gift, she took him at his word and put pen to paper (because back then, there were no computers. Shh, we don't mention her age.)
Her love of all things paranormal mixed with crazy dreams led to her first series, The Stone Society, about Gargoyle shifters in search of their mates while protecting humanity from unhinged beasts known as The Unholy. The Hounds of Zeus MC series was born from one of their own being a mate of a Gargoyle. The Rebel Moon Shifters are the next generation, all the kids from the first two series.
Faith also abbles in MM worlds and contemporary suspense, but her first and forever love is fantasy.
When Faith isn’t hard at work on her next story, she can be found reading, cooking, playing in the dirt (planting stuff) or playing with her staffy pup, all while listening to hard rock music.
Although this story was short it still was very good in the telling of when Jonas knew Caroline was his mate & how they finally got together. But, it was also a little sad in that their 1st child & son, Lucian once he found out that Jonas & Caroline were his actual parents wanted nothing to do with them. At least until this story.
There are some mentioning of Dane & Marley in this book & even though the description of this book said that there would be some minor spoilers about future books in this series I didn't recognize any spoilers.
There are some pregnancies mentioned in this book & 2 of them were kind of surprising. & it's nice to see that Tessa's kids are just as bad as her.
I may have read this story too soon. I read it after Julian but I probably should have waited because there were some characters that I didn't know. Other than that small issue, it was good. It gave us the background on Jonas and Caroline. The story seemed to take place about 7 or 8 years after Julian and it takes place at Christmas. Tessa's original cloning is with Tamian is explained. Plus some of Jonas older children were introduced and several surprises.
Jonas is a Stone Society Novella that was written in the future. Jonas is reading his journals of how he and Caroline met to some of his children/niece and grandchildren/great nieces and nephews. Even though Jonas curbs some of the story because of "little" ears there is still some steamy moments and loads of emotions. This a great little companion book but beware, it may have some spoilers for future books. This whole series is a must read.
Even though this was a novella, it was packed with a lot of story. To finally get some of the history of Jonas and Caroline was very interesting. I absolutely loved the introduction to some of the kids, although there was a lot of names to keep track of. 4 stars for me and I can't wait to see what's next for these Gargoyles.
I liked Jonas because it gives you insight in how gargoyles began. Was short but to the point. This series is off the charts, everyone who likes to read about shape shifters this series will be for you. Sit back relax and enjoy. I can not wait till more books come out in series. Hurry Hurry I am waiting impatiently!!
This was just okay for me. I actually wasn't ever interested in Jonas and his mate. He was kind of a backeound only person in my mind. It was fun reading about the kids and how thy are growing up.
Also, who is Sabrina?? I don't recall reading about her in any books. Anywhooo on to Julian's book.
I was really taken with this book from the very beginning to the last word. Jonas was very believable and sincere in telling his and Caroline's story. Another awesome book written by Faith Gibson. I gave this book five stars because it was very interesting to learn about a true love story with lots of family members. I would definitely recommend reading this book.
What a way to the everything together. I hope the stories are not over i need to know more about the kids. Connor is amazing and I think Tabby is going to give Tessa a run for her money.
I expected this story to either be a background history on, or, a new tangent floor Jonas too move off onto. What it turned out to be was a welcome background and early mated history as well as a new discovery.
Great story telling. I fell in love with the family and was very glad to read more about them! Wishing for another book.. maybe one with Connor finding his mate!!
Great to read Jonas' point of view on so many of the events that were previously written about and alluded to in prior stories. I enjoyed it as I have each of the others.
Jonas: A Stone Society Novella (The Stone Society Book 0) by Faith Gibson is a cute glimpse into the story of Jonas and how he became the person he is. It is Christmas Eve and the family is gathered together. Jonas indulges his great grands and reads one of his journals. This particular journal is the story of how he met his wife a human and the story behind their love and many children. This was a real treat to hear how this all began plus getting a lot of back story of Jonas. The kids were absolutely hilarious especially Anthony. I look forward to reading more about the kids. I loved the glimpse into the future seeing what is to come. I am truly excited about all the books to come and all the characters and even the new ones we met in this book. A novella that was more than satisfying. I cannot get enough of The Stone Society. I might need a spreadsheet to keep everyone in their proper places but that is fine with me. Bring it on. 5 stars without a doubt.
As a longtime fan of the Stone Society Series, I was super excited to find out that Faith Gibson decided to write Jonas' story. But now having read Joans, I am thrilled she did! Throughout the series there have been questions not yet answered and with Jonas we get those answers and then some.
The way this story is written, as a grandfather reading his journals to his grandchildren was very entertaining. You get to hear the precocious voices of the children and Jonas curbing his tales for young ears, it's rather endearing. Now, don't misunderstand, as with all of the previous books in the Stone Society, there is heat, adventure and humor. And let's not forget the discovery of some as yet, unknown characters.
While this is not a full length novel, there is a fantastic story within the pages. As is always the case with books in this series, I want more. More of Joan and Caroline. More of the new characters and just plain more of the Stone Society. I loved this novella and would recommend it to all who have begun the series and might even suggest it for those curious about it. Jonas will certainly tease your curiosity and make you want more.
I love the Stone Society and was always curious as to why Tessa and her brother Tamian had been cloned, well it is all answered right here. This is a wonderful short Christmas story.. The love and unity in this family is so strong with these guys.
Jonas Montague finally sits down around the Christmas tree to read a Christmas story as they do every year, only this time Tessa's daughter hands him the story she wants him to read and much is revealed to everyone's surprise. Then after the story telling Jonas and his mate Carolyn are gifted the best of all gifts they could ever recieve, their first borns. But will this visit be bittersweet for them?
I absolutely love Tessa's twins Tabitha and Anthony and her gift to her family is precious. But another member of this awesome family is about to impart news of her own. I can't wait to read the new generation of goyles. Conner is so grown up and so smart, even smarter then Grandpa Jonas!
I loved this short story Ms Gibson, but it left me as usual, wanting more!
I loved Jonas! This book is a Novella and is book #8.5. His half-blooded and cloned children are all together for the holidays, along with a few surprise guests that I can’t talk about because that would be a spoiler.
It was great to be able to read Jonas & Caroline’s story told in story book fashion as Jonas reads from one of his journals. Also, told was why Tessa and Tamian were cloned.
If you haven’t read any of the stories from the Stone Society Series I recommend that you do. Even readers who have said they don’t like paranormal/shape shifters have loved this series. Do start with Rafael and read the series in order so that you don’t miss a thing.
I love this author and this series. I can’t wait for Julian’s story to come out. It can’t come out soon enough.
Following the Stone Society has been a pleasant journey. This novella is very welcome after hearing about Jonas yet seeing so little of him through the series. Getting to know the history of he and Caroline adds so much more depth to them and their children already seen in previous books and answers a lot of questions pertaining to the relationships between them, or lack thereof. The children are adorable and the teasers about new characters have me waiting with bated breath for the next in the series. This was very well written, I just wish it could have been longer.
I always pictured Jonas as a self absorbed Narcissus. I'm so glad Faith decided to give us His story. Now I know that wasn't it at all. I also told myself while reading this " all these names are becoming confusinge and I wish she would put up a family tree." Hehe to my surprise there is a link just for that at the end. I hope all these characters keep talking to Faith. I want to hear all of their stories.I loved Anthony and Tabitha.
I loved this book. It was wonderful to see how Jonas fell in love with Caroline and the heartache they had to endure when she became pregnant. My favorite characters from this book was hands down Tabitha and Anthony Tessa's twins. I loved how they interacted with each other. Overall this was a great book.
I love this....not sure how I have missed this book, but while doing a reread of the series, I finally read it. This one is set in the future, with Jonas telling family the story of how he and Caroline met. We also meet their two oldest children from Egypt. Love every second...even brought tears to my eyes.
This Christmas story bind some lose ends and tells a wonderful story full of hope and life and the promise of continuing the series that is just a spectacular tale.
