Volatility

Rate this book
Volatility tells the story of a young American Army Officer in Saudi Arabia who stops a plot to disrupt the oil markets. It is modeled after a James Bond film, with a less-than-super protagonist.

This is basically the same story as the hard-cover book, Bound to Get Burned, but I updated it to be relevant to today.

This is a good story for anyone who enjoys action, adventure, thrillers or anyone who wants to learn about the military in Saudi Arabia, or the oil markets. The book was especially written for young military officers.

Saudi Arabia is the world's "swing producer" the one who really determines the price of oil as they are the only ones with excess capacity. The United States has two very large groups of advisors in Saudi: one to the Saudi National Guard and one to the Infrastructure Guards. The Saudi National Guard also comes to the United States for training. They are the protectors of the monarchy, the supporters of the government.

It is a fun book, relatively easy to read.
