There's nothing like watching a woman's face as her body bridges pure rapture. It's primal. It's raw. It's unadulterated bliss—the best kind there is. Sex is great. Sex is f*cking awesome. But lately I've been thinking, is this all there is? Or is there something else I'm missing in my life? What is it? Intimacy? Love? God knows I want to find it. But where do I start looking? Obviously, I've searched between the sheets and come up empty. Where to next? Then I meet my new landlady, Sierra Maywood. An aspiring couture designer who inherits the house I’m renting. Thanks to several unfortunate misunderstandings, Sierra ends up homeless and in need of a place to stay. So I ask her to move in. And she says yes. Holy sh*t, this could be the best or worst decision of my life. I’m hoping it’s the best.
*A sweet, swoony and romantic standalone new adult romance*
This was another excellent book from Jackie Wang. It pulled me in from the very beginning and I read it within only a couple of days. Sierra and Asher have great chemistry and don't take things too seriously. They share a great, cheeky banter that had me laughing quite often. 5 stars for this one. It was such a pleasure to read.
I loved this book. Asher, the hero, was a bit of an egotistical ass at first, but Sierra soon put him in his place. She was a very likeable and real heroine, she wasn’t too weak, stood up for herself but also anxious and got upset like a normal person. It’s written from dual POVs allowing you to empathise and understand the actions of both Asher and Sierra. I have to say I do prefer dual POV for romance books.
I loved the chemistry between Asher and Sierra, and the honesty that they could still find other people attractive. The story was really well written, had some good plot twists and plenty of steamy action. Sometimes what you thought would cause a problem with their relationship didn’t, this was so refreshing as so many main characters seem to fly off the handle over nothing and then forgive too easily. The characters in the book were well written and I liked that the book didn’t focus exclusively on Asher and Sierra but allowed us to see their work lives and ‘meet’ their family and friends.
I felt that the situation with Asher’s father was left unresolved but then that is the reality of life. I would love to see the story of other characters in this book – perhaps Jordan could redeem himself or Cameron get his comeuppance and Cally certainly needs to find a good man. I can’t wait for more Northbridge adventures.
Asher Morgan is a hotshot lawyer who dedicated his life to his job and plays the field. Sierra Maywood is a struggling student tying to make it in the big city against her parents wishes. The two meet when Sierra suddenly inherits the house Asher is living in and becomes his landlady. The sparks start flying from the get go but of course they play hard to get. Asher realizes quickly he has fallen deep and fast for Sierra and will stop at nothing to make her his. Sierra's parents and Asher's dad play a big part in complicating their relationship but in the end love wins. There are some other twists and turns along the way too! Hotshot was my first read by Jackie Wang and definitely not my last! Hotshot was packed with steamy scenes, lots of flirting, jealously, and love! A must read!!
Loved this story! The formatting was a little issue but being taken care of, make sure you do updates on the ebook!
This story has what every single woman needs... a sexy man, a hotshot lawyer, a fully paid for house, loving parents and a bestfriend. However Sierra isn't that lucky because there is Asher, a built in tenant. A tenant who is the sexy lawyer and he's also not going to go easy.
Ready romance readers? Asher's got a plan! Make Sierra go all in... with him. What's all in? In the house, in bed, in love? I won't tell. Their families however don't hold back so easy 🤐
Sierra's grandmother has just passed away and she left Sierra her house. As Sierra is a broke college student, she jumps at the chance to move out of the dorms and live rent free. There is just one problem, somebody else already lives there!
Asher is a high powered attorney with no intention of settling down. As a result, he rented the main floor of a Victorian style house from a little old lady. He was just minding his business when a random woman walks in his front door. Now, everything he knew is about to be flipped upside down.
Because Sierra backed out of student housing, she has no where to go and can't afford an apartment in the area. She has no choice but to move into the basement while Asher sleeps upstairs. They almost immediately feel attracted to the other but nothing really happens at first...that is until they go on a trip with a group of friends and Sierra is on the arm of somebody else. He sees red and is determined to make Sierra but what will he be giving up? All of a sudden the relaxed life Asher thought he had is at risk as his ex-fiance came back into town, his job is put on the line, and his best friend is the guy mooning over Sierra. Will he give it all up for her? Does he realize that he actually loves his ex fiance and reconnect with her? Does Sierra even want a relationship now? She is young but most importantly, her family farm is in danger of foreclosure. If she doesn't leave town and go help out then her parents could be out on the street. Will she leave Asher for them or is it time for her to be a little selfish?
I really felt for Sierra in this book. I worked throughout my college career (actually met my husband when I was a hostess at a restaurant) and it is hard to keep up with classes, work, and a significant other. Plus, there are always family obligations pulling you down. She is stuck in the phase where she must decide to be her own woman and follow her dreams or help the family who has done everything for her. So many college kids face these types of challenges and I love that Wang addressed them.
Asher is the man with a heart of gold especially when he saved a stray dog after he accidentally hit it while driving in a rain storm. Yes ladies, he rushed the dog to the vet and then decided to adopt him when he found out that the dog was a stray. In case that wasn't enough of a panty dropper for you, he really cares about everyone, including his clients. Wang created an amazing book boyfriend and I'd recommend that everyone take him with you to bed tonight (with your kindle or paperback obviously).
There was only one short sex scene in this book as it was difficult for our lovers to even attempt the deed. Something happens that actually prevents them from sealing the deal so they have to work extra hard (like what I did there) to please each other. These scenes are not rushed over and there are a couple of them throughout the book. I wish there had been a bit more heat, but I understand why there couldn't have been.
This book is an easy read but one that will leave a smile on your face. If you check it out, comment below as to what your favorite part was.
Things fell into a nice, neat little package with a bow on top...but I don't care. I loved it! I laughed a great deal at the antics of these two. The mistaken conclusions, the innuendos, the out-right unabashed flirting...it was great! I loved both Asher and Sierra. I enjoyed her sassy mouth. I didn't like his dad even though (prior to Sierra) Asher was supposedly close to him. I wasn't fond of the fake ex-bimbo and the ___ she tried to pull, either. I was so glad about the trip to the island and how things eventually turned out. I did like the little revenge-type game she played, but was glad when things were cleared up later. I liked the hospital "husband' situation, too.
This book has funny, quick dialogue. It was a fast, easy read with two interesting, well developed main characters. Loved that it featured a hurricane for part of the story and enjoyed the banter between Asher and Sierra. Fun, steamy read!

A FUN SEXY ROMP !!! Title: Hotshot Author: Jackie Wang Designation: Full-Length Standalone Romantic Comedy, NO Cliffhanger, HEA (Originally Published as Landlady, Book One of Northbridge Nights Series, in July 2016) Reading Platform: Kindle Edition My Rating: Four Deliciously Cute Stars**** This was my first time reading Jackie Wang's work but it certainly won't be my last. I love contemporary romance, adore romantic comedy and completely smitten with sexy bad boys. I'm always on the lookout for a great new author, so after a glowing recommendation from a friend, I decided to check out Hotshot. After reading the blurb and free sample on Amazon, I was more than a little intrigued and decided to dive in. And so glad I did! Best decision ever! I truly enjoyed this book! Hotshot is a well-crafted, fast-paced, easy-to-follow, full-length standalone romantic comedy liberally laced with cutesy humor, delightful characters, steamy dreamy romance and, of course, a dash of agonizing angst. The narrative is beautifully written in the first person with clearly defined his and her perspectives from the two protagonists, aspiring fashion designer and student Sierra Maywood and handsome successful attorney Asher Morgan. The dialogue is smart, snappy, well executed and flows effortlessly. The premise for this story is not a new one: successful, cocky, womanizing playboy meets sweet, somewhat innocent young woman straight off the farm, determined to fulfill her dream and make good in the city. But what is different is the cast of engaging, endearing and totally relatable characters. I was immediately drawn into the story by Asher and Sierra. Two people could not have been more different, yet they're absolutely perfect together. Their attraction is immediate, their interaction electric, their banter hilarious, their passion undeniable and their chemistry was smokin' hot! I loved it! Did I like this book? No, I loved it! If I loved it so much, then why only four stars? For a couple of reasons... First, the author included a couple of adorable dogs in the story, Bowser and Max. Max was used as part of an integral plot thread to bring Vivian 'Vicky' Amari, one of the antagonists and Asher's ex-fiancee, back into his life. We never found out what happened to Max, whether Asher found another home for him or he stayed with him and Sierra. Also, there were no allowances made to take care of the animals while Asher and Sierra were off doing their thing. Throughout the entire story, Asher and Sierra would take off at a moment's notice without any concern for the care of the animals. Owning pets is much like having children. You don't just take off for the day or weekend, suddenly decide not to return home and leave your pet unattended. There was nothing included in the story to provide for their care. A simple little statement added to the narrative could have easily solved this little loose end. It was as if the author completely forgot about the two dogs for most of the story. If you're going to use animals as characters, recognize their needs, be consistent and don't forget them. Second, there was no real resolution between the protagonists and the antagonists. It was just glazed over as if the conflicts were trivial and unimportant when in reality, they were the main source of conflict in the book. I like a nice tidy wrap-up at the end of my stories with all loose threads tied into a neat bow. Despite the obvious missing elements, it was still a great read. Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some steamy dreamy love scenes. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

Life is good for thirty-two-year-old handsome, cocky attorney Asher Morgan. This is my first book by Jackie Wang but most definitely won't be my last❣
I received an arc for an honest review and I'm so glad I did I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it 💯%
I loved the characters especially Asher i fell in love with him slowly throughout the book and Sierra is one lucky girl.
It was a great story I definitely could of read more of it I felt it could of gone on much longer (thats just me being greedy for the characters) but overall the book is well written and i will definitely be reading more of Jackie's books
I liked this book! Its a fastpaced romance but its a first that the characters dont have sex within hours of meeting eachother! Cant wait to read the next!
Sierra Maywood thinks her luck may have finally turned when she learns that she has inherited her Grandma's house upon her death. She works part-time as a seamstress at Delphino's while she takes courses at college to become a Couture Fashion Designer. Yet nothing prepares her for walking into her Grandma's to only discover that someone else is living there.
Asher Morgan is a rich, successful lawyer who has also been quite the womanizer in the past. He is immediately attracted to Sierra but knows he must keep his hands off his new "landlady". Yet no matter what he does he can't seem to get her off his mind.
As Asher and Sierra begin to become friends several events keep testing their friendship and as they begin to cross over the line will their families and past relationships cause everything to implode when it is clear that they can't have everything they want?
I really enjoyed this book! I wasn't sure what I was expecting but this wasn't it! I couldn't out the book down and loved all the different trials and tribulations that Asher and Sierra had to face.
I totally understand why Sierra was leery to get involved with Asher and had him prove why she was worth it. I thought it was funny how long they ended up "waiting" due to other circumstances. I truly think he proved his worth quite a few times over when he realized himself how much he cared about her!
I must say I was extremely disappointed in Asher's father and everything that he tried to pull with Sierra and her family. I was sad that even with losing Asher's mom there was no room for family or for someone that didn't fit into the mold that he was looking for.
I loved the ending and how Asher got everything set back up and was able to do what he loved and how he wanted to. His work was important but so was his life outside of work! I liked also how he was able to swing things for Sierra too!
Sierra is doing everything she can to make ends meet as she goes to school. When she inherits her grandmother house she is excited to have a place to call home rent free. She soon discovers that is comes with a renter. One that is ultimately sexy.
What starts out as a great romance as Sierra and Asher dance around each other soon turns into an emotion, wild roller coaster of a ride. Both Sierra and Asher had to deal with some family dynamics that were hard for both of them. Will they be close to their families when all is said and done?
The most important thing in a story to me are the characters and I feel in love with the ones in this book. Sierra is a compassionate women who is always looking out for and putting everyone else before her. Asher is an alpha male who seems like a womanizer but he is such a sweet teddy bear at times.
It was a sweet, sexy, romantic read that had love, angst, happiness, laughter and family all wrapped in a great story.
*** I received an ARC copy of this book from the author for an honest review***
This New Adult Romance was amazing and bold. It was fast paced, full of lust, love, drama, and sexiness! Asher and Sierra are adorable characters who will tug at your heartstrings and have you rooting for them from the beginning. Landlady was well developed and each chapter, each page had me craving more. The ending definitely took me by surprise as did a few scenes in this awesome book. Who knew the best kind of temptation was the kind that was off limits!

Landlady was the first book that I have read by Jackie Wang and I loved it! A well written, fast paced, quick read; this story was laugh out loud funny!
The banter between Asher and Sierra was hilarious. Facing so many different obstacles; you can’t help but root for them to get their happy ending.
I can’t wait to check out the other books written by Jackie! She definitely has a new fan!
I really liked this book! This is the first book by Jackie Wang that I have read, but I will definitely read more. I love the chemistry between Asher and Sierra, super hot. The writing was very well done and I loved the overall story.
This was a fun and easy reading book, I enjoyed it. I thought the characters and their situation was interesting. My first book from Jackie Wang and I look forward to reading more of her books.
Hotshot is the first book in the Northbridge Nights series. It is a contemporary romance that tells the complex, sweet, playful and sometimes chaotic love story of a handsome lawyer and his landlady. We have all heard the story of bachelors that want nothing more than fun with their conquests. That is old news. However, Jackie went beyond my expectations and gave a makeover to the cliches we all know and love. I must confess I have a soft sport for Asher, our hero. The again, I have always loved the possessive side of alpha males. They make the jealous scenes interesting, revealing and sometimes sweet for the main couple. On the other side, Sierra wasn't so bad herself. Both are very stubborn and strong characters which make it difficult for their relationship to advances. After all, it seems both love to play hard to get even when the sparks fly every time their eyes meet. There were family dramas and a special surprise, which I won't comment further because it will be a major spoiler. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the fact that the story had so much content and didn't just focus on the sexual relationship between the characters. I loved how I got to see different sides of our hero and heroine and how hard they worked for their happy ending.
This is my first book from this author and I have voluntarily reviewed this book. At the beginning of the book we meet Asher who Testifies to himself as an alpha man and a man who can put every woman into bed until he encounters a Sierra. And here we meet two strong characters who do not give up, and are willing to do anything for love. Asher does not give up Sierra to his father's authority and Sierra is not willing to take everything for granted and does not give up easily. And in spite of all the difficulties we see how they ignite love between them. I love the tease and the attraction between them, I laughing throughout most of the book. This was fun novel to read and I really enjoyed it.
First book I read by Jackie Wang, and I have to say I wasn't disappointed!! I loved this book so much that I didn't put it down until I finished it! It has a very cocky and sexy lawyer named Asher and a very stubborn fashion designer named Sierra. Sierra inherits her grandmother's house and when she moves in she discovers that Asher was renting the house. They collide at first and Sierra wants nothing to do with Asher. Facing financial problems Sierra moves in with Asher. This is where the story really gets good. Exes and family try to keep them apart, but Sierra and Asher fight for their love. Overall a really good story.
I received this book as a gift from Author Jackie Wang! And Oh Boy! This was a fun read! Asher and Sierra had an instant chemistry! They met when Sierra inherited her Grandmas house and tried to move in, not knowing there was a tenant. Then the hilarity ensued! of course it wasn't All fun and games. Ex's, accidents, and parent's are thrown in! Finally it all came together for a wonderful end! A must read for sure!
This story had so much promise. I was very disappointed with it. The main thing were in the details. One.. I live on the Gulf of Mexico and have survived several hurricanes... you have several days of warnings. So it was dumb that they all of the sudden were in a hurricane. Another were the dogs. Bowser took care of himself?? And it was just a “choppy “ storyline. It did not read well. So I wouldn’t waste my time reading this...
A fun and sexy Rom-Com. Hotshot by Jackie Wang is a fast paced, entertaining read. It is sometimes laugh out load funny but with a warm heart at it's center. Good chemistry, a solid story, some witty banter, some steamy encounters, a hot bad boy and a woman that can make him realize what he's missing make this a book that is well worth the read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
Good read and well developed characters but something was missing. Young lawyer working for his dad and then falls for his landlady. Felt the father was a bit of a bully and couldn’t understand why Asher didn’t tell him where to go when he fired him. Anyway lots of silly little things detracted from what could have been a better story.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jackie Wang books!! This is the 2nd book I have read by Jackie and again I was not disappointed. Her books are a great read and easy to follow, with a twist or two!!

Hotshot (previously published as Landlady), Northbridge Nights #1 by Jackie Y Wang is a wonderfully funny, steamy read.
Sierra is working hard to get her degree in design, living in the dorms, when her Grandmother dies and leaves her home to Sierra. Little does Sierra know, her Grandmother previously rent it to Asher, a hotshot Associate Attorney with his fathers firm.
Sierra gives up her dorm, and packs to move into the house, only to encounter "The Trespasser" Asher. Sierra tries to find another place to live, but cannot in her budget. A further series of hilarious misadventures later, and Sierra is living in her Grandmothers basement, with Asher living above.
I literally couldn't put this down; I just swiped and swiped right through to the end. It's fast paced, and funny, with plenty of steam. I highly recommend this book, and look forward to more.
This is the first book I have ever read of this author's and I'll admit, it was rather good. What I loved about this book was the characters. A book's characters will either make or break a book and for me, if I can't connect to the characters of the book, I can't connect to the book itself.
I had no problem connecting to the characters in this book! The banter between Asher and Sierra had me laughing throughout most of the book. I love the connection I felt developing between them and the raw attraction that existed between them was electrifying! Honestly, this was just an overall fun novel to read and I really enjoyed it.
I highly recommend this book. It's a lot of fun and the characters are very likable!
Sierra’s grandmother left Sierra her home in her Will. Little does Sierra know that her Grandmother also left her a tenant in her home. Upon arriving at her new residence, Sierra finds Asher, a hotshot lawyer, HER newest tenant. I really like Asher and Sierra together. I’m excited that they were used to introduce us the other characters in Northbridge Nights Series
Great story! The characters are fun and believable. I loved Sierra and Asher. Their story was relatable. I loved that they worked together to find a way for them to be together against the outside forces that would like to see them broken up. I was definitely happy with the ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy.
