I love chick-lit, and I expected this to be another installment of light entertainment in which boy meets girl, boy and girl hate each other, boy and girl resolve their differences, and live happily ever after (and I’m fine with that sort of story).
But this is NOT that sort of story. This is a true romance, and I mean one that is so full of powerful emotion that it will bring tears to your eyes. It did mine.
There is, of course, sex. But this sex is so tasteful and joyous that it feels tender and romantic rather than just erotic. It’s making love, not having sex. The language Haynes uses is seductive, charming, and dreamy, making the story that much more compelling. Reading how Marianna and Chase meet in the most unlikely way, gradually get to know each other, share some of the pain from their past lives, exchange thoughtful gifts, and fall deeply in love, is simply enthralling. As Haynes says, along the way Marianna and Chase take a great big bite out of life, and we the readers are jubilant to follow them on that journey.
This is must-read chick-lit. You will not soon forget this story or these characters.

Sweet
This was a pretty good story. There were some explicit scenes, but the romance was sweet. It wasn't very long, but it managed to include a lot, including overcoming insecurity, taking risks, owning up, acceptance, and love.

Captivating
The story of a young woman with a dominating father who refuses to fund her financial needs is hard to put down! Her remedy for her situation is to become a courtesan! Her journey doesn’t go as expected! The unexpected chemistry is mind-blowing. But twists & turns alter her perceptions! I found this to be well-crafted, relatively short read! It is my first experience with this author & I will seek out other offerings from her~

Breezy romance
This was an easy, guilt free read about a woman desperate for her father's love and attention. She meets her Prince charming while on her second assignment as a high escort and gets her happily ever after with a few anxiety hiccups along the way.

A kindle freebie which is very short but very well written. Perhaps it needs a bit of a better plot but I can see that this would be hard to do in such a short format. It is certainly more sophisticated than some of the books Out there in the same genre.
