About the author

Raghavan was born in Adyar, Chennai and spent his early years in many villages of Chengalpet District because of the frequent transfers of his father in his job. In the mid-1980s, his family shifted and settled in Chennai where Raghavanfinished his school and college studies in 1988. Even though he has completed a course in Mechanical Engineering, he did not want to take a job in a factory because of the interest in writing. Raghavan started his career as a sub-editor in Amudhasurabi Monthly Magazine. The famous weekly magazine kalki offered him the post Assistant Editor in 1992 after he showed his talent in humorous articles and stories.

Raghavan worked as an assistant editor in Kalki for about 8 years and joined in kumudam the No.1. Tamil weekly magazine in 2000. After completing a full year in Kumudam as Assistant Editor, he was appointed as the Editor in Charge for then newly started by monthly Kumudam Junction.

Raghavan left the magazine industry and became involved in publishing in 2003 and presently leading the Tamil Division (‘'Kizhakku Pathippagam'’) of New Horizon Media Private Limited.

The book is written after the release of official report of investigations on 9/11 events, but before OBL's death. The author summarizes the facts and analyses.

How Al-Queda came into being? Osama's background, his religious fanaticism, his lieutenants and colleagues in these terrorisms. What is the reason for the hatred against Americans? Who is the brain behind this plane operation? Who were all involved in this plane operation? Their background, training and how they came into America and how they actually operated?

Analyses on how FBI, CIA and other organizations had the information before hand to prevent this terrorist attacks and how they slipped. The repetitions in this section just irritated me to the point to think that any detection is easy on hindsight. However,...…

The author refers "Confronting the evidences: a call to reopen 9/11 investigation" in his analysis. This video documentary is available in you tube and I am yet to watch it.

The author summarizes the questions raised by this video documentary and has his own questions and opinions....OMG....

9/11 விசாரணை அறிக்கையை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு எழுதப்பட்ட நூல். 1998ல் கோயமுத்தூர் குண்டு வெடிப்பு இதே நாளில்தான் நிகழ்ந்தது. அதே நாளில் இந்த நூலைப் பற்றி எழுதியிருப்பது தற்செயலாக அமைந்த ஒரு ஒற்றுமை.

ஆசிரியரின் சீனிவெடிப் பட்டாசான எழுத்து நடையிலிருந்து சற்றே மாறுபட்டு, கொஞ்சம் ஃபார்மலான எழுத்து நடையில் இருந்தாலும், பல உண்மைகளைத் தமிழில் தருவதால் இந்த நூல் முக்கியத்துவம் பெறுகிறது.
அல் குவைதா தீவிரவாதிகளால் விமானங்கள் கடத்தப்பட்டு, குறிப்பிட்ட இலக்குகளில் எந்தப் பிரச்சினையுமின்றி மோதமுடிந்துள்ளதை பின்புலத்துடன் இந்த நூல் காட்டுகிறது.

செப்டம்பர் 11 2001 அன்று அமெரிக்கா மீது அல் கயிதா நிகழ்த்திய தாக்குதலும் தொடர்ச்சியாக நிகழ்ந்த ஆப்கன் யுத்தமும் நம்மை சூழ்ந்திருக்கும் அபாயங்கள் எத்தகையவை என்பதை உணர்த்துவதுன. இந்த நூல் செப்டம்பர் 11 தாக்குதல் குறித்து விசாரிக்க அன்றைய அமெரிக்க அரசால் நியமிக்கப்பட்ட கமிஷனின் அறிக்கை அடிப்படையில் எழுதப்பட்டது. தாக்குதலை எவ்வாறு திட்டமிட்டது என்பது தொடங்கி அமெரிக்க பாதுகாப்பு ஓட்டையில் வரை எதையும் விடாமல் அலசி ஆராய்கிறது.

One of the detailed book I have read so far!!!
Pronunciation were almost perfect... it covers not only the 9-11 story but the backdrop of events starting from 1979 till the US - afghan war later with some info about Iraq seizure by US. Very good read... worth to read multiple time to digest all the information given inside

டாலர் தேசம் படித்த பின் 9/11 மீதான ஆர்வத்துக்கு தீனி போடும் என நம்பி எடுத்தேன். ஆனால் எதிர் பார்த்த அளவுக்கு இந்த புத்தகம் 9/11-னை பற்றி நான் எதிர் பார்த்த விஷயங்களைச் சொல்லவில்லை. மாறாக 9/11 விசாரணைக் கமிஷனின் அறிக்கைகளையே சுற்றிச் சுற்றிச் சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது. ஆனால் இந்த புத்தகத்தின் கடைசி அத்தியாயமும் அதில் Painful Questions: An Analysis of the September 11th Attack என்கிற புத்தகத்தை எழுதிய Eric Hufschmid அவர்களின் அனுமானங்களும் மீண்டும் என் விருவிருப்பைத் தூண்டின. ஆக டாலர் தேசம் படித்தவர்கள் நேரடியாக முதல் அத்தியாயத்தையும், கடைசி அத்தியாயத்தை மட்டும் புரட்டினால் போதும் என்பது என் கருத்து.
