Sabrina Duluth has a tidy life. She loves her editing job and owns her own home. On weekends she dabbles in BDSM. Nothing could possibly disrupt her perfect world…until she takes a class at the local college.
Conner Bascott is a busy man. He teaches British literature by day, fights MMA in the evenings, and attends a local BDSM club on weekends. The complete package…until a feisty brilliant sprite enters his classroom for the spring semester.
Sexual tension reigns until the summer after the class ends. They could ignore their attraction and continue with their separate lives. Or not. One brief encounter tips the scales and changes the course of their lives.
Sabrina is a strong woman with definite opinions. Conner is a firm Dom with specific demands. Toss in a plethora of external forces, seemingly derived to keep the two of them apart, and they are left with frayed nerves and frequent shouting matches.
Who is fighting to keep them apart? And why? Is their blossoming relationship strong enough to overcome extreme adversity?
Becca Jameson is a USA Today bestselling author of over 100 books. She is most well-known for her Wolf Masters series and her Fight Club series. She currently lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband and Goldendoodle. Two grown kids pop in every once in a while too! She is loving this journey and has dabbled in a variety of genres, including paranormal, sports romance, military, and BDSM.
A total night owl, Becca writes late at night, sequestering herself in her office with a glass of red wine and a bar of dark chocolate, her fingers flying across the keyboard as her characters weave their own stories.
During the day--which never starts before ten in the morning!--she can be found jogging, running errands, or reading in her favorite hammock chair!
This was pretty sexy, right from the start. I didn't like that the H felt he had to keep information from the h, causing the dreaded "misunderstandings" here and there...but overall a good book. A little suspenseful and a lot sexy. Very Alpha male.
I really Conner. Professor, MMA and Dom all rolled into one. Who could ask for more? Sabrian is good and has a great back bone. They love to argue and what comes afterwards, wow. It is an interesting story in how while Conner wants Sabrian in his life, he wants to protector her more. One this I really like about the Fight Club series is how she keeps the people you already meet in the new books. It really makes them all seem like a family.
This has been my favorite of the series so far. There was a lot more mystery and suspense involved and I loved how it was a lead in to the Underground series, which was one of the first series I read from Becca Jameson and I was hooked ever since. Conner is just what Sabrina needs and Sabrina is just sassy enough to knock Conner down a peg or two. I listened to the Audible edition of this book.
I love Becca's books. This story has the perfect ratio of plot to steamy time. It also had some good suspense. While you don't need to read the first 4 books you do get to spend some time with the characters from them, and it was nice catching up with them a little. I can't wait to finish the series with Zane's story.
Conner and Sabrina are white hot together. It seems that someone at every turn is tryinf to break them up not to mention getting him fired. Conner is high handed and unbending in his Dominance and Sabrina tests him at every turn.
I have to say I was waiting for this with my heart in my throat since Becca put a release date for it, and I'm not disappointed at all with this book.
I've to admit that the premise of Conner being a teacher and Sabrina being a student made me do a double take but when I dive into the first chapter I just couldn't put it down and finished this book in less than 4 hours. Yes. I pick it up at 6 pm almost and just finished 10 minutes ago and it's 10:21 pm right now.
What did I liked?
Well, for starters I have to say that her mouth it's... I mean... I can't even think how many times she said the F word in this book. And for me it was brilliant, even when sometimes she said it too much without being necessary.
Seeing the "soft" side of a man it's always a great deal for me and I give Becca a lot of points for it because it's not easy to write a man that shows his feelings but it still maintains that mainly aspect that most girl love. That strong man that will be there to protect you no matter what.
Seriously the way Becca describes the fights it's something that I enjoy even when it's messy and bloody like in previous books.
What didn't I liked?
The excess of the F word. It's good up to a point and it was funny but too much it's not exactly better most of the time.
I didn't like Angela, not because she was a bitch (laugh) but because I didn't get her. I mean, yeah, she wanted Conners attention but damn... She was just a shallow character that I didn't enjoy much. I also didn't like Missy but Angela was worst... unless... there is a secondary story for her...
Rating
I gave it 4 stars because this series just... it's great for me and I will be coming back to it over and over and over again...
Also I'm waiting not so patiently for the last book. I want to see if this will branch out into a new Series or what :D
I loved reading this book. While I could feel for Conner and how he relates to his students, I also understood how having the “hots” for a professor could upset your life. I adored the way Becca Jameson got Sabrina and Conner into a relationship and even how Conner’s opinion about romance would wobble and change. Somehow Becca Jameson knows how to pulls you into a story and you have to read on. This is the hot story about Conner and Sabrina: Sabrina leads a tidy and full life. She loves her work at home, editing romance books and she loves being in her own home. Nothing could disrupt her perfect little world until she decided to take a class at the local college. Conner is very busy with work as a British literature professor at the local college, fighting MMA in the evening and in his spare free weekends he attends a local BDSM club. Nothing out of the ordinary until a feisty brilliant sprite enters his classroom for the spring semester. Sexual tension is very high that spring but both ignore the attraction and both continue their separate lives. One brief and very hot encounter during the summer tips the scales and changes the course of their lives. Sabrina is a strong woman with definite opinions while Conner is a firm Dom with specific demands. Can they overcome their differences and opinions while Conner is also accused of having a sexual relationship with one of his students?
This book was a little intense! Conner "The Gladiator" Bascott is a college professor, a Dom + a MMA fighter. He falls in love w/ Sabrina. She only took 1 class w/ Conner as the professor, so technically, she is not a student. Conner was free to date Sabrina. The villain in this story is Anton Yechin, a Russian mob boss. He wants Conner to fight for him + he will do anything to make that happen. He send an email to the university claiming that Conner is having an affair w/ a student + he took private photos of Sabrina. Conner was able to defeat Anton. Conner was not fired from the university + He got the photos back before they were distributed I liked the ending. Very nice HEA!
...And just that like, all good things must come to an end. I read this book all the way through because I have faith in the author. Let's be honest: I bought five of the six book series and read them in less than a week.
But I didn't care for her hero in this one. He's too old to be undefeated, and too much of a total dick-ish ass for me to care about him. He deserved to get his ass wupped at least once or twice. And the Russian mob? Not something I think we needed.
This one was just too pulpy and over the top for me.
I loved all the books in this series, but this 1, by far, was my favourite. I loved everything about it!! Conner was OMG HOT HOT HOT..and Sabrina was beyond feisty. Ps....I have to admit, I was horny as hell from start to finish reading this, and actually REALLY disappointed when it finished. EVERY woman needs a 'Conner' in her life :)
I really enjoyed this book, I think better than the others in the series. Although, I loved the whole series. So sad that there's only one more book to go in the series. If you would enjoy a series (or you could read them as a standalone if you wanted)that's hot and steamy erotica, with some BDSM, good friends and a good plot, you should give this series a try.
OMG! What a way to start off a book!! Loved it! Love this whole series. This was a pick me up and don’t put down until it’s over. I read it a while ago, and realized I never reviewed it, so I read it again. Just a fab as the first time. Hint hint with a smirk and a smile!! I could read this book many more times, and I plan to!!
OMG!!! I just finished reading this book and I can't say enough about it. The characters are so colorful and strong and you are kept in suspense throughout the entire book as to who the real villain is.
So the first book in the Series caught me off guard with the BDSM, but as I continued reading, through books got better with less BDSM. I loved Rider, Gave, and fell hopelessly in love with Conner. Now onto Zane. I can't wait.
Oh Conner you sexy beast. I love love hot BDSM with two people who need each other on a deeper level then submission and domination. I just finished Want (The Fight Club Book 5) and gave it 5 stars.
Super hot and sexy book. I absolutely enjoyed reading the last book in this series. I want more! It is a great book with a little bit of everything in it.
Basically all the same characters, the same dialogue, pet names, etc. for the entire series and the few other books out side the series I've read from the same author.
This well written and edited book is a great addition to this series. There is a lot of action that keeps the storyline moving forward nicely. The characters are well developed. Loved the audio option!
