I did enjoy it but at the speed of reading those amounts per day and being a working mom. I found it more difficult to dwell on it like a "love letter" and would better enjoy it for....say ....2 years.
Bought in 2021, still reading in 2022. Expect that I'll probably be reading for the next few years, too.
I'm inconsistent with reading and journaling in this one because I'm also concurrently reading a KJV Bible (out of order) and a Psalms journaling book. I flit from book to book. But this one has helped me read more Bible verses in the quiet mornings. And these readings seem to help me cope better with my depression. (I DID setup a dedicated Bible reading station on the table in my office to make it easier to sit down and read - so that helps, too. I used an old, elevated desktop phone organizer stand as a reading stand hack).
As far as journaling/coloring, I have prepped a few pages with 1-2 coats of clear gesso and let dry overnight. But for me, the media that work best are: ballpoint pens, glitter gel pens, dye ink pads, watercolor pencils (dry), and colored pencils. I'm still struggling with watercolor washes for backgrounds and zig Clear Brush watercolor brushes. I can't seem to get the 'driest' amount of water applied - I'm so used to painting on thick cold-pressed watercolor paper!
I was so excited to find this Bible last year. It gave me a creative outlet as well as a plan to stay on track and complete reading the Bible, something I’ve failed to do in the past. It’s a wonderful book. I wrote my word of the year in the cover and plan to write next year’s word and date as well. Eventually, I will pass it on and hope that the next owner will do the same.
The One Year Bible made it very easy for me to complete reading the bible. I was able to read a small amount each day and journal with my morning coffee. Its easier to read than the traditional Bible and has a notes section. Highly recommend if this is on your bucket list and wish to do daily reflection and prayer.
Another year through the Bible! Always good to be in the Word of God! It is truly a living breathing Word. Papa God shows me new things each year, each day! Now to choose which path of reading for 2024... probably chronological.
I love this bible. There is space for notes on the side and some some beautiful scenes, passages and quotes to color. I wish the pages were a little thicker but at the same time with the right pens and coloring pencils it works fine. I like that is breaks down the New and Old Testaments each day. It is a beautiful Bible and I would recommend this for anyone who wants to add color on the pages of the word of GOD.
